CHAPTER 9: Rampage in the mansion

blurring vision start to see clearly. my eyes began to open and all my vision start to clear out and see a man staring into my eyes as he held my waist and head telling me "lady valerian!, lady valerian!, lady valerian!"

he wore glasses, blonde long hair, and green eyes. he looks like prince from a fairytale. I think he is in his mid-twenties. wearing a simple coat for a peasant outfit in the kingdom.

he held tighly to me screaming my name and when saw my eyes are open, he felt a relief of comfort. the he said "oh thank goodness, the medicine works. I'll take you to your room"

"wait.....how.....did.....you...know....the...antidote?" I said it in sluggishly 

"oh, well. I gave you something to make you vomit, You have been unconscious for a while, luckily I found you just in time"

damn it, maybe I should just off the castle then. probably that way faster.

he then carry my whole body as he walk towards my room then ask "my lady, what were you doin back there?"

"I....I...I" I said

"you know what, never mind. You need some rest after what you ate back there" he kind a look so happy as he carried me. then he said "My lady, I'm so happy I got to see you again". 

wait who is this person, what do you mean 'see you again?. at that time I couldn't speak due to my nauseous state, the poison was still in my system. It may take a long time to get it out. In this state, I won't be able to die but just be brittle. so I better make an antidote for this.

"let....me...vomit" I said

"oh my lady, sure. let me just put you there" he then position me at the balcony. I make a hand gesture to give me the emesis which will make me vomit.

"oh you mean this" he hand me the drug then I swallowed it whole, then waited for some time. 

"my lady, are you alright?" after he said that. I vomited, and the looks on his face said it all. he felt an awkward and disgusting expression. he then carry me to my room,

I'm feeling a little bit better, after all that. However, I can sense that the belladonna got into deeper in the system but luckily it was only mild. I need some sleep. Maybe the wedding will be canceled because I'm sick.

"my lady, are you feeling better?"

"yeah, I guess I got to get that out of my system."

then he let out a smirk and said "my lady, I'm thrilled to be by your side right now"

"thanks for your help" even though I don't need it

"valerian, are you really gonna marry the king?"

when I heard those words, I was a bit shock. then I look at him then he let out a sad expression as if he wasn't happy with my decision, he then continue

"I study abroad, just to learn medicine and some important subject to get recognized by you. but when I arrived. I heard you were getting married and----" he stuttered a bit then he shouted "Why didn't you wait for me!" he let out some tears as he said those words. I was stunned, I couldn't say anything.

"Was I not good enough for you?" 

"you said that we belong together, but now you are married to the king." 

"I know, I don't belong to the highest noble family in the kingdom, but I was willing to do anything for you" 

"we were happy back then, why are you leaving me?"

he said all of those, but I have no idea who is this man. what is he to valerian. and why did valerian turn him down? there are so many question bottled in my head right now but all I can say is "I'm sorry"

when he heard those words, he calm himself down then he said "I'm sorry my lady that I'm such a mess. I want you to know, I hope you have a wonderful wedding" he then left my room.

everything that happen tonight. made me think. ellie did not mention him to me; she only said that I turn down many proposal. so does that mean he is valerian secret lover?

not to mention, the dream I have a while ago. rayla said there was a book about queen valerian and there is a reason why she married him. 

if only I could have read that book
