17 - He was chasing behind a chicken...

Konoha...

Twin's apartment...

After returning to the village, Saito brought Kirito back to his house and left him on the bed with a promise to meet him next week for early morning training. He also gave Kirito some fish that he had caught.

Kirito felt a little tired but managed to get up from the bed after a while. He found three fishes next to his bed, bigger than his hand and thicker than his legs.

Kirito thought they were too much for them to finish, but he was determined not to waste any food and decided that fish would be on the menu for a while, meaning no Ramen for Naruto until they finish the fish.

After cleaning up, Kirito returned to find Naruto looking curiously at the fishes.

"Brother, you're back," Kirito said as he saw Naruto examining the fishes.

"Where did you get these fish from?" Naruto asked, lifting one of the fishes by its tail.

"Saito sensei gave them to us to eat. He caught a lot of them," Kirito replied honestly.

"What? You were catching fish and having fun, and I thought you were doing some serious training! Why didn't you take me with you? You know I'm a better fisherman than you!" Naruto exclaimed, putting the fish down.

"No, it wasn't me catching the fish. Saito sensei caught all of them while I was training," Kirito clarified, grabbing two fishes and signaling for Naruto to take the last one to the kitchen.

Kirito then proceeded to tell Naruto about his first day of training, including the chicken chase, and Naruto couldn't contain his laughter.

"Hahaha! You were chasing after chickens all along! I can't believe it!" Naruto laughed, teasing Kirito.

"Even if I couldn't catch a chicken, at least I would've caught one by now," Naruto said between laughter.

"Enough about that. We're going to eat fish for a few days, and no more Ramen," Kirito said, trying to get back at Naruto for teasing him.

"Anything but that!" Naruto exclaimed, realizing the horror of not having his beloved Ramen every day.

Next morning, the twins met their friends at the park, and Naruto couldn't wait to share the funny story of Kirito chasing chickens.

"So, what did Sensei teach you, Kirito? I bet it was something cool," Shikamaru asked with curiosity.

"Naruto, tell them already," Kirito said, knowing what Naruto was going to do.

"He was chasing after chickens, hahaha!" Naruto blurted out, unable to hold back his laughter.

"What? Chasing chickens?" Shikamaru asked, trying to understand what Naruto meant.

Kirito tried to explain, but before he could, the others started laughing at him. Shikamaru suggested that Kirito buy a wild chicken before the next training and train by himself to improve.

"I have an idea," Choji said. "My uncle has a restaurant business, and he might have a chicken. I can ask him to give one to you, but you have to promise to bring some meat if you catch a chicken next time."

"Deal," Kirito agreed, and they went to find Choji's uncle's shop to get a chicken.

Afternoon…

After Ino arrived at the park with her friends, she found Kirito running behind a chicken all around the park.

"Naruto, what is he doing?" Ino asked after going beside Naruto.

"He is running behind the chicken," Naruto replied, teasing Kirito.

"I know that, but what I want to know is why is he doing that?" Ino asked again, wondering why Kirito was chasing a chicken.

"Actually, he is training," Shikamaru explained.

"Training?" Ino said with confusion.

"Yes, you see, yesterday..." Shikamaru proceeded to explain everything that happened during Kirito's training with Saito.

After laughing together, the four kids watched Kirito still trying to catch the chicken. Ino commented,

"That explains it."

Kirito was doing his best to catch the chicken. Every time he took a break, the chicken would also stop, and when he tried to approach it slowly, the chicken would suddenly take off, making it hard to catch.

After numerous attempts and failures, Kirito called everyone to help, thinking it would be easier with more people. They surrounded the chicken, but it managed to fly over Naruto's head, eluding them once more.

"Darn it!" Naruto exclaimed as he chased after the chicken.

Shikamaru warned, "Don't chase it towards the village, Naruto!" but it was too late, and the chicken was already lost among the people.

"What will we do now?" Kirito said, feeling disappointed.

Ino suggested they search for it together, so they looked all around but returned to the park empty-handed.

Later, they spotted the chicken eating something from the ground as Naruto once again went to catch it.

"No, don't do it, Naruto!" Kirito shouted, but Naruto scared the chicken away again.

Just when they had lost all hope of catching it again, the chicken stopped before exiting the park. They heard a familiar voice saying, "Are you guys trying to catch it?"

They turned to find Shikaku, Shikamaru's father, entering the park and using his Shadow Possession Jutsu to hold the chicken in place.

"Dad!" Shikamaru exclaimed, surprised to see his father.

"Uncle!!!" the others greeted him with excitement.
