Chapter 1 "Arrived to Another World"

"Ugh… Where am I?"

William woke up from his sleep. He realized that he had awoken in another place. He arrived in an abandoned warehouse. When he turned to see whether anyone was nearby, all he saw were raindrops dripping from the roof.

He experienced a slight headache. He was unsure of how he arrived or why he was in this location. His clothing was filthy and torn. He attempted to walk his way out of the room to find the door, so he could return to his house because he wasn't sure where he was.

It was dark, with rubbles and ruins found inside most of the room. He looked at each of the rooms inside the warehouse to see where the exit door was.

He proceeded to make his way down to the warehouse's main lobby. There ought to be an exit door nearby. The lightning had just struck down near the warehouse when he began to make his way down the main staircase, instantly lighting up the entire space. There was someone at the lobby desk.

He observed a person leaning toward the lobby desk while standing in front of it. The concept that the room was isolated and dark and that someone was standing there menacingly within this empty warehouse bothers him greatly. It seems that the person doesn't pose a threat.

William approached the front desk in close proximity, carefully approaching it step by careful step. He moved further nearer and tapped the person on the shoulder.

"Hey, are you okay?" But there was no response.

He walked around the desk only to find that the person was dead.

"Jesus Christ!"

William screamed. He was shocked to find a dead body in this kind of place. Its body was poked through with some sort of crowbar that goes through the person's body as if his body was nailed through the desk.

What was more interesting is that the person used full military equipment, with all the gears, camo suit, and even Kevlar that got pierced through with a crowbar. There was no telling who could have done this to a fully equipped militant.

It sent him to chills.

He had no idea that something so dangerous might be hiding inside this structure and that he might be the next person to suffer the same fate as this person. This made his decision quite clear. He has to leave this place as soon as possible.

He stood up straight and searched his entire body for something that belonged to this individual that he might be able to utilize. Touching a dead person's body and stealing their belongings was something he would never imagine doing.

He immediately found a phone, a combat knife, and a flashlight that could be handy in this dim space. William attempted to turn on the phone in the hopes that he could make a call or immediately leave this place. He turned it on and hoped that there was still some battery life.

William exhaled in relief as the phone's boot-up screen appeared. It's a good thing that he keeps his phone with him when taking duty calls. When the phone turned on, he immediately began to type a phone number and made an attempt to call someone.

"Please, please, please, please pick up."

He hoped that the number he dialed would pick up their phones at this time of the night. Then, a voice can be heard from the phone.

"The number you're calling is not available right now. Please try again later."

"Fuck!"

He tried another number but was distracted by the rustling noises above his head. Something is moving on the roof. Clearly, it was something heavy that didn't sound like raindrops. It made him very wary about his situation now.

He put the phone away in his pocket and picked up the flashlight and the combat knife in his hand. He is ready to fight anything that comes in front of his vision. It was the most frightening moment, facing an unknown threat that could end his life at any time.

The rustling sound above his head became more apparent, and it was not only one, two, or three, but it felt like there were many of them. A shadow was flashed on the window. Someone or something was definitely coming closer to him.

William wasn't sure whether he should run blindly or go out through the window or door to get out of the building. Neither of the two options was good because he wasn't sure which would benefit him or trap him.

The footsteps becoming closer and closer, William braved himself up for what was to come. At least he's not going to die easily.

The main door was burst through by a group of people breaking and entering the place. They were fully armed with weapons and military uniforms and flashed their lights throughout the place. At least a dozen military people were entering the place, but they looked different from the ones who died there.

One of the militants pointed his gun and lights over William and shouted, "Drop your weapon and get on the ground!"

William is shocked by it. He doesn't want to die. All he can do is comply with what they said. Each one of them checks the room one by one to make sure the situation is clear, even the people from above the roof combing down the room from top to bottom.

"Commanding Officer Grace, the coast is clear. All of the Frontrunners operators had not found anything within the building. Probably it's just another misdirection made by them."

"I see. Call off all Task Forces. Send a message to the headquarters regarding the situation."

"Understood."

The officer left the building, and this Captain-like appearance named Grace looked toward William on the left. He is currently being held with a few other officers. She walked her way toward William and asked the officers.

"What about this?"

"One of the people who were here, the other one is dead. Only leaving him here alone."

"Is that so?" She glanced at William, "Why are you here? Bloody and messy appearance at this time of night. Are you the one who killed him?"

"Look, It's not what it looks like. I don't know why or how I get here, but I really don't know about anything that's happening here. I just want to go home." said William.

"Really?" Grace then looked at one of the officers, "Any information about it?"

"Not much. He said the same thing to us that he wasn't part of any of this."

William's face was confused about what was going on. He woke up at this place, and suddenly he caught up in something. Grace suspiciously looked at William's presence within the building.

"Do the usual, and we'll check up on him later."

"Check wha-"

Before William finished his sentence, he was knocked out by one of the officers with the gun stock. He fell unconscious and dropped down. He was taken by them, and one by one, they left the building, rode on their military vehicles, and drove away from the area.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was bright. He is currently inside a room. He woke up with dazed eyes, flinching at the light and white walls surrounding him. His hands were cuffed, and his clothes changed from a dirty shirt to an orange long-sleeved jumpsuit.

He sat on a chair with tables in front of him. There is also someone with a lab coat holding a clipboard, waiting for him to finally wake up. He rubbed his eyes and finally realized his situation now.

"It seems that you've woke up, D-1092. My name is Dr. Erik Anderson, and I will be your interviewer for this session."
