Chapter 2
He had been laid in a cradle to rest after being properly fed. Though he was fully conscious, his body would drift off in certain moments due to fatigue; perhaps it was a testament to the fact that he was once again a baby.
His movements were now restricted and all he could do was stay waiting until someone would come and carry him.
" The overall encounter rate of demons over the past few months has reduced drastically but I wouldn't agree that it's a chance for us yet to rest."
" Agreed Mrs. Aoi, I'll do my best to get back in shape in a few months. And of course, I'll train Megumi to be the greatest head the family will ever have... I want his life to be better, at least better than mine but I wonder if that will even be possible considering our current circumstances."
It had been one bombshell after another since the last few hours when he had been conscious and based on everything he heard; he wasn't sure if he was ready yet for what the world was about to throw at him.
" What happens if I don't meet their standards? What if I end up against the main antagonist at some point and have my death guaranteed and on top of that, I have the entire family's hopes on my shoulders."
" I'm glad you're fine with everything that's been happening and I promise to stay by your side until all this is finally able to come to a halt."

The talk of the heir to the branch family of the Hajiboma's being born spread like wildfire throughout the entire household; many people were coming to pay their family visits and send their regards as well.
The celebration was quite lively as well and it seemed that his abundance of magical potential was constantly praised by those who set their eyes on him.
Though it gave him high hopes, he couldn't help but think of something they usually said; what it could be about always had him thinking but it turned out it would be something he would have to live through to find out.
With the protection he heard, his survival for the most time was at least guaranteed to a certain degree depending on what life had in store for him.
It was only a matter of time before he turned two and began waking on his own; the world he now found himself in was truly amazing and he was only just realizing that.
Everyone was born with a certain dark aura that illuminated inside them, the amount varying based on certain inherent factors.
It seemed that he possessed a great amount of it and it was this factor that determined greatly one's physical status and strength no matter how much training they would go through their entire life.
This was what it had taken for him to know what the words of everyone who had set their eyes on him meant.
" Megumi seems to be quite blessed, but this is only the first stage of his path to sorcery. I have no worries though, if he was blessed internally then he'll be externally as well."
The unending coexistence of light and darkness was what gave sorcerers their power and thus the strength to exorcise the demons which now plagued humanity.
From the few things he had heard, he didn't need anyone to tell him what world he now found himself in; the constant yapping from his best friend ever since the light novel's airing was enough words for him.
He had heard about a few of the characters and the few popular ones he could remember that included the woman who had turned out to be his mother.
Time was moving quite slowly and fast for him at the same time; it was mainly because his emotions were conflicted at the moment; to grow fast and find a life of his own and the fear of the demons that were constantly spoken off.
Sure, he may have been reincarnated into a novel but every single one of the characters important to the story was always mentioned by Josh, and his name clearly wasn't one of them.
Plot Amor had a high chance of not being on his side and it struck great fear for him; this wasn't a fairy tale where character deaths are non-existent; people died in very gruesome ways.

It had been another normal day; just him laying on the bed with his gaze at the ceiling while his entire body continued to waddle restlessly.
Ding!
[Host has successfully awakened the binding system]
Description:
[Allows host to bind with a target and gives the host a chance to receive tenfold the reward of each milestone achieved by the target.]
His jaw almost dropped at what he was seeing; a system that could grant him ten times rewards based on certain conditions.
Conditions:
[Host can only bind with one target at a time. Physical contact is required for both binding and unbinding and only worthwhile accomplishments will be rewarded ten fold]
This wasn't like most multiplier novels he had seen on the app "web novel."
One which his friend had shown but he had spent his time reading the fantasy romance stories and a few instances of culture; they were the only ones that caught his attention since most of the genre's authors didn't waste his time with unnecessary descriptions.
It required him to link up with people which the people had decided to describe as targets and only worthwhile milestones would be recognized by the system.
Not only was he going to have his power be dependent on another person, but he would also have to be very picky with who it was so he would be able to receive his rewards faster.
" Man, I don't even know the characters in the story so there's probably no way to know who to choose and who not to." He thought, turning sideways on the bed, " Re-zero wasn't the first, the MC could even be like Itadori. I don't want big potential characters, I just want fast-growing ones even if they do come to a halt at some point."
" So far Mrs. Himeko hehe! Well, my mother's the only one I can think of but will there ever be a point where I actually get a reward from her."
" I know she's revered and strong but her potential growth is almost at zero since she's almost closing up at forty years old. Damnit, I guess this skill will only be good enough once I'm old enough to meet other people with the potential for growth in them."
A moment of less thoughtfulness was all it took for him to finally fall asleep.
Luck had been on his side so far but even though he could see great power ahead of him, he couldn't take his chances grabbing hold of it as soon as possible.
