Chapter 159 - Time For Smack Down

Back in the Colosseum, people are back in the stands cheering and ready for entertainment as Ruby descends the steps to an open seat. Despite everything that's happened, she's smiling widely, looking around at the assembled crowds... until her stupefied eyes see a familiar, glaring face on the other side of the arena.

"Emerald's... here?" Ruby asked since she was sure that they left in the ambulance and she shouldn't have been back so soon. It had only been 3 hours since the last match the Shallot was in.

As if sensing she's being watched, Emerald leans forward to glare at Ruby, who suddenly gets up with a worried expression and runs towards the exit tunnel.

'Something isn't right. If Mercury was injured then Emerald wouldn't have been here and would be next to Mercury. Uncle Qrow was right, they may have been the ones in the school that were causing the problem. Did Shallot know which is why he destroyed his legs to make whatever they are trying to do not work?' Ruby had her thoughts running through her head trying to understand everything.

Checking to see if no one's around, she enters a door labeled with a yellow maintenance sign and finds herself inside of the Colosseum. She walks forward with determination as the announcers' voices are heard, muffled behind the brick walls.

"All right, it's now time to begin the randomization process for our next fight!" Dr. Oobleck's voice could be heard coming from the stadium.

"The sound of the roulette is heard faintly, but what makes Ruby stop in her tracks is the sight of another unexpected "friend" stepping out from a nearby tunnel, with thin metal legs giving him the ability to walk again along with some bandages wrapped around his waist."

"Mercury?" Ruby asked knowing that he shouldn't have been able to really move since he was injured just 3 hours ago.

"It looks like our first contender is... Penny Polendina from Atlas..." Professor Port announced.

"What are you doing?" Ruby asked.

Mercury turned seeing Ruby there while smiling. "Your boyfriend did a number on me and it was hard making these just so I can move around within 3 hours."

"And her opponent will be... Pyrrha Nikos from Beacon!" Professor Port's voice came over the speakers and Ruby knew what was going on.

"Ooh, polarity versus metal. That could be bad." Mercury said while sneering at Ruby.

"No... I need to tell Pyrrha that Penny is a robot even if Penny will not like that." Ruby glares at her new opponent, reaching back to grab Crescent Rose, only to remember she doesn't have it on her. Mercury simply grins maliciously and sets himself up in a fighting pose.

Ruby squats down and dashes toward Mercury while Mercury tries to move only to see Ruby disappear from his view and felt a fist hit his face sending him flying into a wall.

Outside, the arena's center is lifting back into the air, and an oblivious Penny is grinning wildly, with her fellow redhead Nora cheering excitedly from the stands, even getting Ren to let out a reluctant "Yaaay..."

Shallot was sitting in the stands looking around when he noticed the Ruby didn't come in yet.

Yang turned and saw that Shallot was looking around and noticed that her sister isn't there and also looks around.

"Where's Ruby?" Yang asked.

Shallot sensed Ruby's ki and noticed that she was another ki presence that was a lot weaker than hers. From what he could tell she was beating him up.

"She is beating up someone currently so I don't think there is anything to worry about. I wonder who it was that made Ruby beat them up. They had to be a real asshole to make Ruby beat them up." Shallot said to Yang with her nodding her head thinking that Ruby doesn't start things but she does finish them.

"Alright, it's now time to begin the randomization process for our next fight!" Dr. Oobleck said over the intercoms.

"It looks like our first contender is... Penny Polendina, from Atlas! And her opponent will be... Pyrrha Nikos, from Beacon!" Professor Port called out.

Inside Ozpins office Ozpin seats himself behind his desk and takes a sip from his cup as he stares at the "randomized" fight to be. He looks down at a sheet of paper on his desk that has in writing Penny is a droid.

Down in the arena of Amity Colosseum, Pyrrha is still looking hesitant and distracted while Penny politely salutes her opponent.

"Sal-u-tations, Pyrrha Nikos! It's an honor to finally meet you!" Penny said while saluting.

Pyrrha doesn't respond, looking at her hands as she clenches them in attempted determination. She had been keeping her semblance active as a way to train it and she was getting a strong feeling from the girl in front of her.

'If she has a large amount of metal on her then using my semblance could be dangerous so the best thing to do would be close-quarters combat. I can do that or I can make sure not to use the crushing force of my semblance.' Pyrrha thought while thinking of the best way to end this.

"This is going to be so much fun!" Penny said while pumping her hands.

In the same structure behind closed doors, Ruby Rose is beating down Mercury in a corner stomping him while asking questions. Mercury's aura was already broken and just wanted to get away at this point.

"I thought we were friends so that means that you can tell me everything," Ruby said while stomping on him.

"I won't tell you anything!" Mercury yelled back wondering why was everyone on their team so strong.

"I will get answers from you. Shallot taught me how to!" Ruby said before performing an elbow drop into his already broken ribs.

"Uhh!" Mercury let out a pained wheeze from being elbow dropped.

Ruby walked over and grabbed a chair from the side and a table. She placed the table by Mercury and lifted Mercury while he was still winded and placed him on the table.

She got a running start and ran toward the chair and jumped into the air aiming another elbow drop at him. She landed her elbow into his chest breaking the table underneath him.

"Are you going to answer now?" Ruby asked with a smile on her face.

"Ne... ver..." Mercury said while wondering where the hell was back up. He already sent an S.O.S to Emerald.

Ruby nodded her head while nodding her head. She picked Mercury up again and placed him against the wall before dropkicking him against it. Mercury grabbed his chest falling to the ground.

"Fighters, are you ready?" Dr. Oobleck's voice could be heard announcing the start of the match.
