New Friends

Martin was walking down a road until he saw the town in the distance, he had trouble walking due to repeatedly stepping on his own tail but he got used to it fairly quickly, "So that's the town huh, it looks big from here." Martin said squinting at the town 'yep, with the clothes you have on it would look like you were just robbed.' Anris said "now that I think about it what's my body like compared to other ratmen?" Martin asked 'Well your height is average but your weight is obviously way above average.' Anris said "Don't remind me." Martin growled 'Anyway, the average ratman is a bit short compared to a human, their only 4' 8, while Their weight would be about 90 pounds, your weight is about 140 pounds, give or take a couple of pounds.' Anris said.

*20 Minutes later*

Martin was wandering around the town looking for some new cloths, but unfortunately he can't read any of the signs, he asked a few people where he can find some clothes but they either ignored him, assisted him or just looked at him with disgust and hatred, "Jeez what's with these people?" Martin said under his breath 'ratmen are equally hated and respected in this kingdom, they are most common in Demon Emperor territory but changed sides only two years ago' Anris said "Well that makes my life easier." Martin said sarcastically.

When Martin found a cloths shop, the clerk was thankfully nice, He was a tall, skinny man that had blond hair, pointy ears and turquoise eyes, "Welcome to The Silver Moon Accesories and Clothes, where we-" He paused as he noticed the state Martins clothes were in "Oh dear me, you looked like you've been robbed, are you alright sir?" The clerk asked "Yeah, I'm fine, I actually did get robbed and all I have now is this money." Martin said patting the pouch on his hip "Well my assistant is out currently, I'll help you with your clothes." The clerk offered, after Martin got new clothes and payed for them he left the store feeling a little refreshed and a little hungry, this time he wore a black jacket with a shirt under it along with some new pants.

As Martin roamed the town a little more he found some guys getting into what seems to be a mugging by three other people "Just give us the real payment and we'll forgive you for giving us a fake!" One of the muggers said "Hey, you should leave them alone!" Martin yelled, the muggers turned around "You stay out of this rodent!" one of the muggers said "why should I, if someone is in trouble, I help, it's as simple as that." Martin said shrugging his shoulders "Did you not hear him rat, he told you to get lost fatso, or we'll make you regret it!" Another mugger threatened, the fatso comment really made Martin mad, three ghostly black hands with a visible red aura then appeared out of the walls slamming the muggers into the ground "You need to learn some manners, it's rude to insult people based their appearance." Martin said with a aggressive face and tone.

"Thank you for your help." One of the mugging victims said "No problem, I'm Anris." Martin said "I'm Rasuo and over there is my little brother, Giblet." Rasuo said pointing towards his brother, Rasuo was a human who wore a red cloak along with a black undershirt that had a leather breastplate, and black pants with a belt along with metal boots, Giblet was around Martins height, he wore a white shirt with buttons and black jeans along with leather boots "Don't let his height fool you, he's only a year younger then me." Rasuo said.

Martins stomach begun to growl loudly, "Is there a place around here that I can eat, I'm a little hungry." Martin said sheepishly "Sure, you seem to be new." Rasuo said.

*1 hour later*

As Martin was eating his fourth plate of food, Rasuo asked him a question "So do you have any business here Anris?" He asked "No not really, I was traveling until almost all my stuff got robbed, now I'm just looking for a job." Martin said with his mouth full of food "Well you can join us, we're signing up to be adventurers at the guild." Giblet said "That's a good idea, three would be better then two, What do you say?" Rasuo asked "Well I guess I can join this group of yours." Martin said "Great, we're heading to the guild first thing tomorrow!" Rasuo said enthusiastically.

*Later that night*

Rasuo took everyone to an inn that was close to the guild as he wanted to do the registration as soon as possible, Martin was in bed staring at the ceiling mulling over the days events, when he remembered the restaurant he was eating at his face had a small smile to it "I never thought I would be that hungry." Martin said jokingly 'well if you think that was a joke that might be how much you'll eat per meal for the rest of your life.' Anris said "Really now, I'm used to eating a single plate and at most two, but if I'm going to eat four plates I need to get used to it quickly." Martin said unconsciously patting his stomach, Martin got up from bed and turned on the lamp which seemed to be powered by light magic, he then looked at his reflection in the glass mirror "It's weird not being human anymore, let alone being fat, now instead of worrying about hair only on my head I now have fur, Summers going to be a nightmare for me." Martin said, he then looked at his stomach through the reflection "then this thing, I'm probably going to be a lot slower am I, heck I don't even know what my metabolism is like." Martin said 'And to top it all of you have a tail and your shorter then your used to be and the cherry that is, people would hate you' Anris said jokingly, "Well, it could be worse, I had the chance to become a slug." Martin said, he turned of the lamp and took of his jacket, shirt, and pants leaving him in only underwear, and he got in bed and went to sleep snoring.
