"You came to find me? How did you even know where to break through?" I asked, finding it hard to believe Tomoe would rush over without seeing the enemy die first.
"I trusted my instincts and sense of smell as a Kitsune to save you! Besides, you are beautiful enough for me to track down, so you can always count on me to get you out alive!" said Tomoe, proudly smiling as if he had saved the world.
I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose... This Kitsune is a walking cheat for surviving for more than nine centuries. After processing the whole story, I widened my eyes in shock upon figuring that Raiyen hadn't replied to Tomoe's questions or a summons.
"Oi! How about your Master? Why didn't you look for him, knowing that Raiyen nearly died from Raijin's attack?" I questioned.
"Are you kidding me? Between saving a novice and Raiyen, I'd choose to go to the novice even if Raiyen is dying! That guy doesn't need anyone's help with a solo fight, let alone a puny Kitsune like me. He can handle enemies even if they are at the same power level as him."
"Are you calling me a novice?" I asked, angrily standing up.
"No, you must've mistaken me. I'm trying to say that Raiyen doesn't need anyone's help if he is supposed to fight alone. If Raijin is alone, he doesn't stand a chance against Raiyen, a Time Mage with Skilltrees based on solo fighting. The man was built to take on solo fights."
"Remember, Raiyen's a Founder. The Time Mage's Spells mostly count on Raiyen to concentrate everything on a single burst of power onto an opponent at the right timing. The Time Mage was known as the best assassin of the Congregation, even impressing the Old Man Pond."
"The Founders may be powerful but mighty in certain types of combat. Mavislin is a wave-clearer, with most of her attacks targetting armies. Heaven's Wheel encloses many targets in its confides and rains down Light arrows to kill them off."
"Ysabeau is a Bahamut, so she is the lesser version of Mavislin, with Elemental Wings targetting big groups of targets. I'd say that because Mavislin is allowed to enter her true form as an adult Valkyrie, she would be as large as half a Domain itself."
"As for the Head Knight, Baldwin has attacks that can clear large chunks of enemies simultaneously. But you have to be careful since, unlike the two beings mentioned before, Baldwin has no way of controlling the attack once it's out. If you happen to be caught, then good luck to you."
"Z would be like Baldwin since he can't control the firepower, but I spoke to him about it. Most of the Grand Admiral's Spells are for single-target enemies if you're talking about his Constellation Spells. His Ancient Relic would be an exception."
"Last but not least, we have Headmaster Gillian's Skilltrees being the most balanced of the whole group. Though he usually uses wave clearing tactics, Gillian's most powerful Spell to date would be a single shot to the Elemental Core of the target. The Aki doesn't even need to see the victim."
Tomoe's explanation about the Founders made much sense as I recalled the novel. But then, a person emerged from the dark, prompting Tomoe to step in front of me in a protective stance. But I laughed on the inside when I realized it was only Raiyen with a new hairstyle.
When Tomoe calmed down, we laughed despite the Time Mage's angered facial expression. The poor guy's hair was now like a huge afro, and Raiyen had burn marks all over his body.
"What on Earth happened to you, man? Why'd you look like you've got electrocuted?!" I asked in between laughs.
"That's because I WAS electrocuted. When Raijin got the best of me while I was seeing Tomoe's vision, I glitched right into the lightning strike. But I survived it and killed that guy, so all is good and well... Except for my hair... Hopefully, I can fix it before meeting with Mavislin," replied Raiyen.
"At least you've answered Lizzie's question... But was there anyone with you? Or you've fought against Raijin alone?" asked Tomoe as I tried to fix the Time Mage's hair.
"I fought with Raijin in a one-on-one battle, but with your constant interference, I nearly lost my limbs. And to see you guys laughing at me, I assume both of you trounced your targets?" asked Raiyen.
"Yes, but both of us were up against two enemies. First, I had to face the late Marquess, and if it hadn't been for Tomoe, I would've been late. So how did your fight against Raijin go?" I answered, straightening the last of Raiyen's hair.
