Chapter 303

Late into the night,

Daryl had managed to fight with the knights close to the Brolan kingdom's stone walls. Many attacks had been fended off along the way by the dwarven riders. He felt like something was wrong with the attacks they had made. At times they would attack from the sides and try to pick the knights off one by one. It felt like Dimitri was testing Daryl in his opinion.

They had managed to secure an area to make base camp. It was close to the stone wall while both sides used the middle as a war zone. Daryl found the dwarves to be cautious in making any attempts to attack their camp directly.

Stepping outside of his tent, Daryl looked around. Having no idea where Bredret went he looked for a knight close by. Walking over to them so that he could ask, "Where has Bredret gone?"

"General Vulen, Bredret was last seen around the catapults drinking!" The knight responded with the last place he had seen the dragon.

After hearing the information from the knight, Daryl rushed off to find Bredret. He wanted his help to push forward on the dwarven wall.

What is he doing? Daryl felt worried every time he left that dragon alone. It was war right now and he was still drinking heavily while letting Daryl take care of everything. He was beginning to feel exhausted from taking care of the emotionally damaged dragon.

This is just too much.. He needs to snap out of it already. Daryl wanted to complain but kept it to himself.

"What are you doing?" Daryl asked when he arrived at where Bredret was.

The dragon was relaxing inside one of the catapults with a bottle in hand. Laying around as if he was carefree. Chugging down the bottle the dragon peeked over at Daryl's direction from the corner of his eye.

Exhaling deeply after his drink, Bredret replied sarcastically, "Taking a drink in a quiet location?"

"This is not the time to relax." Daryl said, "I need your help so we can push for the wall."

"The knights can hardly deal with the dwarven riders. If you want to push forward we're going to need to distract them so the knights can get them by surprise." Bredret felt like the whole thing was exhausting.

Daryl knew the dragon was only annoyed at the thought of doing more work, a sudden thought coming to mind, "That is why we need a distraction from the other side."

"What are you thinking? I do not like that look on your face." Bredret felt a chill down his back as he saw Daryl's eyes light up. It was like the man had suddenly got an idea. That look directed at Bredret made him uncomfortable.

What is he up to? Bredret wondered.

"You would be able to hold your own against them. I need your help." Daryl stated. As a dragon, Bredret would be able to handle the dwarves. "I need you to change form."

"What? Why do I need to do something so annoying?" Bredret did not feel like using his true form. He was already going out of his way to come here with Daryl because the wolf sent him here. If he had made a fuss there was no way Vorbuk could have forced him to go with Daryl against his own will. It was his choice because he enjoyed Daryl's company. Now Daryl wanted him to put in extra work for the battle against Brolan?

"I am asking you as a friend, Bredret." Daryl tried to coax the dragon.

Bredret groaned as a deep rumbling sound could be heard coming from his throat, "How annoying... Fine. What do you need me to do?"

"Just let yourself run wild when you get there." Daryl said simply while moving closer to the catapult.

Bredret was confused by that statement and had to ask, "When I get where?"

Daryl walked over to the catapult. Flipping the switch without a word further to the intoxicated dragon. The dragon had little time to react and ask what the man was doing.

WHOOOSH!

"What the f-!?!" Bredret had no time to even swear in anger at Daryl.

Bredret's body was hurled upward into the air from the catapult. After flipping the lever on the machine the dragon was thrown upward. His body had been flung through the air as it released. In order to ensure that Bredret made it to the other side without a problem Daryl had launched the dragon right out of the catapult towards their enemies. If it had been someone else they might not have been able to handle it. Being a dragon, Daryl was not worried about Bredret being able to take care of him self from the launch.

Shaking off the annoyance from what Daryl had just done, he braced himself for the landing. Bredret had no interest in morphing into his true dragon form. However his friend, Daryl, needed help during the war against Brolan. They needed to capture Brolan Kingdom for Vorbuk.

He needs you... They need your help... Bredret thought to himself. It felt like the thought came from somewhere deep within his conscious.

A golden hue flickered and glowed from Bredret's eyes as he felt his body starting to descend. If he kept falling it would lead to him landing in the middle of the enemies. The Brolan Kingdom's stone wall was getting closer to him.

ROARRRRRR!

BAM! THUD!

In the blink of an eye Bredret's instincts reacted on their own accord. His body forcing itself into his true form as a dragon. That massive red dragon colliding down from the skies where the catapult sent him moments ago. A large body crashing down against the stone wall as Bredret collided into it on the way down. Normally he could have prepared a better landing for himself. However at the moment he had no reason to hold back from being destructive towards the dwarves.

Roarrr! Rrrrr! Rrrrrrrr!

He could hear the sound of Kaze and dwarves all gathered around him from all angles. The Kaze were making sounds similar to a growling and hissing noise towards him. Every movement they made were quick and hard to keep track of. The dragon's eyes watched them cautiously as his front feet grasped hold of the wall and tried to position himself to stand up.

Rubble from the stone wall dripped down from the dragon's body as he moved and stood up. The ground shook beneath the feet of the dwarves as they all felt panic in their hearts. Arrows were fired, weapons were thrown, and the dwarves even shot other weaponry in the direction of the dragon, Bredret. His claws sank into the stone and smashed it more in his firm grasp as he used the wall to brace himself.

"ROARRRRRRRR!" The dragon released a bellowing roar towards the dwarves surrounding him. They were all in a panic as they tried to react. Some were unable to move due to fear over taking them.

A Kaze swept by the dragon with great speed. It's fangs barred as it leapt upward. As it leapt for the dragon's wing it opened its jaws. The Kaze's front claws grasped hold of the dragon's wing as it sank its white teeth into the wing. Blood seeping from the wound as it refused to release the grip it had on him.

On the back of the Kaze sat a familiar dwarf that had been sending his dwarven riders after them all the way to the Brolan stone wall, Dimitri.
