Chapter 245

Time passed and a unknown number of drinks later..

The five of them were beginning to loose themselves to the extent they had drank. All of them could feel the tension at the beginning causing all of them to drink without recognizing how much they'd each done. Vorbuk could feel his own mind getting fuzzy as he listened to the others around him.

"Bredret," Vorbuk exhaled deeply into his glass with a face tinted red from drinking, "What is it like in Axania where the dragons reside?"

Bredret paused as if he was thinking about it but the answer he gave was enough to make the others choke on their drinks because the only word he gave in response was, "Hot."

"I think he wanted to hear more then the weather from you, you petty lizard." Duke Heket laughed as he spoke.

Bredret flared up in anger as he stood up. His quick action caused the table to rattle and shake as he bumped against it roughly, "Call me that again you bastard!"

"He's not exactly wrong though.." King Micah mumbled under his breath from where he sat listening to them argue.

"You're not helping." Prince Leo whispered to King Micah as he heard the words he'd just said.

Vorbuk could only hold a hand over his face as he tried to think of a way to resolve the situation. There were no words coming to mind that he could say outright to everyone in front of him. It was not a group of people who got along that well from start to finish.

I want to go to bed. That was the only thought Vorbuk had at the present as everything around him made him uncomfortable. What good could come out of this situation?

The dragon turned away in anger as he began to storm off. Vorbuk had a bad feeling so he quickly called out to him before he could get too far, "Bredret, where are you going?"

Bredret called back loudly, "This petty dragon is going to do exactly what he is good at and ruin that bastards carriage!"

"What?!" King Micah slammed his palms against the table as he jolted right up from his seat. His glass landing on the ground and shattering, "do not dare touch my carriage!"

"You think I didn't hear your insult on top of his?! Your carriage shall take this petty dragon's fury!" Bredret laughed as he began to run away.

CLANG! THUD!

King Micah knocked over some wine bottles as he took off running after him. "You! Stop right there!"

"Bredret, you better not do anything stupid!" Vorbuk shouted after them both.

"Should I find Daryl?" Prince Leo asked as they both got up quickly from their own seats. From the side they could see the grand duke, Heket, laughing as he got up and followed after them.

The four of them chased after the dragon, Bredret, as he ran across the palace grounds. Entering the area where countless carriages were lined up with care by servants. Walking by one carriage after another they soon arrived at a beautiful carriage pulled by four horses.

King Micah flinched as he saw Bredret run his hands carefully and slowly across the carriage's side. He was scared to know what was going through that dragon's head. If something happened to his carriage it would put him in a difficult position. But it could also affect Vorbuk as well which made Bredret hesitate to do anything over the top to King Micah's carriage. Bredret could not understand the complicated feeling he had to worry about someone else's image on his own.

Heh. He didn't need to burn the carriage down. Bredret snickered as he startled to fiddle with one of the horse's reigns and began to undo him from the carriage.

"What do you think you are doing you crazy-?!" King Micah began to swear at the sight of one of his horses being undone.

Bredret chuckled and climbed on top of the horse and moved it away from the carriage speaking loudly, "I'm just a petty dragon."

"Hyah!" Bredret kicked the horse and began to gallop off. He was heading out of the palace grounds and into the capital of Theapan. King Micah was left trying to refrain from pulling out his beautiful, long, blue hair. Every time he came across Bredret, the dragon was always causing problems for him. It was something that he felt he should begin to expect.

That dragon is like a bad omen! King Micah screamed internally. His mind running a dictionary of swear words at Bredret.

"We should go after him." Vorbuk said suddenly as he walked up to a horse and began to undo it from the carriage.

"My horses... my carriage.." King Micah sighed heavily. He was only sullen for a brief moment before walking up to one himself and undoing it. No longer did he hold a face of being upset but rather his expression hardened to one of determination.

"You're attitude changed quickly." Vorbuk said to King Micah bluntly as it was impossible to not notice the vast difference.

"I'm going to kill that crazy..." King Micah swore under his breath as he got on the horse he'd undone and rushed off before Vorbuk could even climb on his own. He was determined, alright. King Micah was determined to beat that dragon to a pulp if he caught him.

"You're slow, your majesty. Would you like to ride with me?" Duke Heket's voice caused Vorbuk to snap his head around.

His eyes landed on the last of the four horses of the carriage. Duke Heket had quickly undone the last one for himself and gotten on his. Extending his hand out to offer Vorbuk a lift on the horse with him.

"That won't be needed." Vorbuk jumped on top of the horse he'd undone himself.

"A pity." Duke Heket laughed and rode off ahead of him.

"Well," Vorbuk asked as he turned his gaze down to Prince Leo. "are you coming."

"Hah." Prince Leo flinched as he realized how awkward this situation had gotten.

Climbing on top of the horse the prince settled on it behind Vorbuk. Vorbuk could not return to his wolf form right now as he had to maintain his human image for the night. However Vorbuk had never ridden a horse on his own before even in his previous life. From behind him Prince Leo had to take control over the horse as they rode.

Vorbuk realized just how far behind on common knowledge for royalty he truly was. Riding a horse was something that all royalty was to learn. It was a skill that could save their life and be used in other areas as well. Going hunting on horseback was a common leisure for royal families. In the future it was a skill that Vorbuk would need to learn. As Vorbuk used Prince Leo to control the horse to keep up with the others he made sure to observe how the prince kept the horse under control very carefully. He knew it was knowledge that he would one day need. However with his frustration towards Bredret and how fuzzy his head was from the alcohol he found it hard to tell how much he would really be able to remember later.
