Have you ever dreamed of a world where the sky was so bright above your head from the bright stars that you felt like you could reach up and grab them right out of the sky? A world where the grass below your feet danced in the wind like waves against the water. It is a place where even the small faeries in the air flew around laughing and singing beautiful songs in the air around. The sound of their voice so soft and beautiful that it could bring tears to your eyes out of mere joy at how calming their songs would sound. That was what Leo found himself dreaming about that night.
"What is this?" He asked as the tears fell from his eyes at the beauty around himself.
He had never seen anything so wonderful before, yet he knew he was dreaming. Slowly he reached his hand out in front of him and a glowing butterfly landed on it while the faeries continued to sing their songs in his ears. It was a strange place to him, but it was serene and beautiful. For a moment he wanted to stay asleep and enjoy the dream even longer, but he knew he could not sleep forever.
"This feels like paradise, yet it's only a dream..." He sighed as he took in the enjoyment around him. The place felt so real, yet he knew it wasn't.
"Of course, but that doesn't mean it isn't a form of paradise, young prince, Leo." a beautiful voice called out to him.
As he looked to his side he could see a beautiful figure fading into his view. Her long white hair dangling down her sides. The ground around her turning to ice where ever she stepped. The way she moved her body was enough to seduce almost any man that dare steal a glance of her. Leo was not like any other man though and simply scoffed at her. He was not ignorant of the world, especially being the bring of his kingdom. At first glance he could easily grasp who the women was that was invading his dream.
"Queen, Lyra." He smiled at her. "Why are you trying to ruin my sleep tonight?"
"Ruin your sleep, young prince? I simply wish to speak with you is all." She smiled sweetly at him as she slowly danced her way over to his side as the faeries sang their songs. Every graceful step she took would freeze a new place on the ground. The frozen grass looking similar to that of crystal.
"I should have figured this was one of your tricks when the dream felt too real to be a simple dream of mine. I have to admit you chose a wonderful place to drag my subconscious, but you must know I could leave this dream world any time I wish." He really did feel the urge to grant her points towards placing him in such a beautiful place in his dream, but he knew where ever the Ice Queen was nothing good would come out of it so he only found himself sighing as he wondered what she would want from him.
"You think so negatively of me, Prince." She sighed heavily as if she was insulted by his judgement of her.
"Negatively? I simply thought I knew what you truly are... a walking disaster!" He laughed loudly as he watched the butterfly fly away from his hand where it had been.
"Fine... I simply wanted to ask if it's true you are traveling with a shadow wolf, Prince Leo?" She leaned in close to him, her body just barely away from him so that she was almost pressing herself against his back as she leaned in close to his ear.
"So what if I am?" He rolled his eyes at her attempts to gain his favor with her body.
"You must know what the risk is for a shadow wolf to be in this world, if that's what you're really traveling with. It could very well lead to your downfall if you aren't careful." She smiled sweetly at him from his side.
"You must be joking!" he scoffed at her.
"I never joke! Shadow creatures are nothing but a disaster to this realm!" She wiggled her figure up in the air at him as if she was trying to scold his way of thinking.
"You're a disaster to this realm!" he retorted back at her.
"How rude!" She folded her arms across her chest and puffed out her cheeks as if pouting at him. He could clearly see she was trying to hold in her own temper from the way the air shuddered and chilled further.
"Queen, Lyra, you seriously invade my dream just to try and turn me against my companion. Your tricks never seem to age. They are like a broken child throwing a tantrum and yet I am the one who is suppose to be young here compared to you. If you're done with your conversation get out of my dream and let me dream in peace. The way you invade my dreams over the years has been nothing but a burden and I really do tire of seeing your face!"
"You tire of seeing me in your dreams? Ha! Aren't you the one who lets me invade them?" She retorted back at him and pointed her finger at him. She was finally reaching her limit of tolerance towards the prince.
The prince was at his limit as well and raised his hand quickly towards the women releasing a blast of fire in her direction. She yelped in surprise and quickly vanished from the place she had been. Leo could feel his dream slowly returning to normal as the presence of the Ice Queen faded from his mind. He hated how she could simply invade his consciousness whenever he slept if she had the will to do so. She had tried countless times over the years to invade his head when she felt it convenient or wanted to try and learn something from him. His mind and will were strong enough to push her out if he wanted to, but he often felt it tiresome and would ignore her until she left. It was something he never told anyone about, because he feared the reaction of the King if he learnt his own Crown Prince was regularly invaded mentally by the presence of the Ice Queen to try and trick him into spilling Intel that would be useful for her.
He sighed at the very thought of her. She may be human, but her beauty had easily captivated those of her kingdom and even the elves to work for her. While most would fall for her beauty he was easily able to see how dark and treacherous the woman was. The only feeling he held towards her was hatred and disgust.
"I guess I can go back to dreaming in peace for the night..." He sighed to himself as he relaxed back into his dream world to enjoy the moonlight above.
