Reigning over the Heavens

Joren's childhood was a cruel landscape, shaped by pain, suffering, and humiliation at every turn. Bullied relentlessly at school, he became an outcast, the target of both physical and emotional torment. At home, he was invisible, unloved, and neglected by a family that seemed to see him as nothing more than a burden. His parents, wrapped in their own indifference, ignored his cries for help, leaving him to fend for himself in a world that seemed determined to crush him. Every day, Joren endured a life that felt like an endless nightmare—a nightmare that was only made worse by the fleeting moments of hope he’d occasionally catch, only for them to be dashed by fate’s cruel hand. Just when Joren thought he might find a way out, a glimmer of salvation appeared—a chance to escape, a way to break free from the pain. But fate, ever indifferent, saw fit to deal him a final, devastating blow. He died—his life snuffed out before he could escape the nightmare. Or so he thought. Reincarnated in a new world, Joren’s torment did not end with his death. In an unimaginable twist, the Gods made a grave mistake: they allowed his memories to remain intact. All the suffering, all the heartache, and all the pain of his former life flooded back with him into this new existence. It was a gift and a curse—one that would shape the man he would become. But instead of crumbling beneath the weight of his past, Joren chose to rise. No longer would he be a victim. No longer would he cower in the shadows of those who sought to break him. The world that had once been his enemy would now feel the force of his wrath. With a heart hardened by years of torment, Joren set out to rewrite his story. The shame and helplessness of his previous life fueled his every step as he sought to amass fame, wealth, and power. Yet, his quest for power was not simply about inflicting pain on those who wronged him—it was a drive to prove to himself that he was no longer that broken child, that he could become something greater. But the world he found himself in was far from simple. It was a land filled with its own dangers, politics, and power struggles, and Joren quickly realized that the pursuit of power was more complicated than he ever imagined. As he begins to rise through the ranks of this new world, Joren must face not only the demons of his past but the temptations of his newfound abilities. Will he be consumed by his thirst for revenge and the allure of power, or will he find redemption and forge a new path for himself? Each step he takes forces him to confront not just his enemies, but the question of who he truly wants to become. In the end, will he be a ruler, a tyrant, or something entirely different? Joren’s journey is one of self-discovery, as he battles the forces of both his past and his present in his quest for dominance—and ultimately, to shape the world in his own image. Chapter 85 - Jill but Joren's her jack

Eli didn't bring a training sword but a real one. He was taught that sparring should be done with real swords to make mistakes happen less frequently. That was a good training method and Joren agreed with it wholeheartedly.

CLANG

Their swords collided signaling the beginning of their spar. Eli put his all into his attack, trying to overwhelm Joren at the start, but Joren blocked his blade with no effort and casually parried him causing Eli to lose his footing slightly.

"Come on, you can do better than that." Joren teased

Eli focused on Joren and gripped his sword firmly. "I'll go all out." White mana oozed around his sword before solidifying.

'Ohh, so he can solidify his mana already huh? Maybe he's a prodigy in the making.'

"Woah, look at that Jill! Can you do that?" Helen asked excitedly.

"N-No, I can't."

"Here I come!" Eli, now coating his sword in aura confidently charged at Joren with the intent to win their spar. He swung his blade vertically, missing Joren as the latter dodged. He changed his grip and swung to the side to catch Joren's movement but again his sword missed its mark.

Joren kept dodging Eli's attacks effortlessly as if they were nothing but child's play. He would occasionally block or parry to keep things engaging but he never went on the offensive.

Throughout all this, Helen kept cheering for Joren like a fan girl, and surprisingly, Jill was staring at him with eyes of interest. She didn't even pay any attention to her own boyfriend. She smiled every time Joren would dodge or tease Eli but would frown when Joren had to block.

'What's with her reaction?' Joren, who was good at multitasking, noticed her expressions every time he engaged with Eli. It was as if she didn't want Eli to land a blow on him.

"Hey! Stop dodging! Take this seriously!." Eli was breathing heavily, sweat dripping from his hair as he bent over slightly from exhaustion.

"No offense Eli, but I've been training with mana and martial arts since I was five. The difference in our skill level is too apparent as you would stand no chance against me. I don't know what came over you but you're not on my level." Joren didn't care if his words offended him or not. Eli was not even in the first circle, so how was he going to stand a chance against someone in the 3rd with cleansed mana and 11 other mana cores? Short answer, he wasn't.

"Tsk! Don't look down on me! Give me everything you got! I can take it!" Determined to win, Eli wanted to prove that he could beat Joren. He slightly glanced over at Jill before looking back at him.

'Ahh, I see what this is. Heh, jealous that I'm taking your shine away from Jill and Helen? Now I'm going to bury you deeper in their minds.'

"You sure?"

"I am."

"Bet." Not even a second later, Joren's fist connected with Eli's abdomen

"ARGHHHGH!" Sliding back yet still staying on his feet, Eli clutched his stomach slightly as he screamed in pain. He quickly got his bearings back together but he didn't anticipate Joren was already making his next move.

Simply swinging his sword down, Joren cut at Eli with the latter trying his hardest to block his attack but there was little he could do. His hands were slightly twisted as the force of Joren's sword strike was heavier than he anticipated.

"Aghhh!" Eli dropped his sword, put distance between them, and put up his hands to brawl.

"Heh, I'll have you know, my preferred method of combat is hand to hand, I just use a sword to look cool." Joren put his sword back in his storage ring and with one great stride, he appeared behind Eli, punching him in the back.

"Arghhh!" 'What the-? How did he appear behind me so quickly?!'

"Peekaboo!"

"Huh?" Eli was punched in the face and flew backward like a track and field star trying to jump over the long high bar.

"Ahhh, fuck!" 'Is he this much stronger than me?' His mouth started to bleed as he got back up trying to at least land one punch.

Joren didn't let that happen though. He pummeled Eli like he was a sack of potatoes not letting him get the chance to attack him at all. He completely embarrassed Eli in front of Jill and Helen.

Throughout all of this, Jill only looked at Joren and was visibly excited seeing him beat up Eli. Every time he was punched, she shook her hand as if her favorite soccer team scored a goal while saying 'yes'.

"I-I give up." Eli, bloodied and beaten, lay on the grassy field out of breath as he almost passed out from the beating he just got.

"Here." Joren healed him back to normal.

"T-Thanks."

"No problem. Keep training and you might be able to beat me someday." He smiled but wasn't sincere.

"Y-Yeah, I will!" You could see how shaken up Eli was. He probably was the best among the people who were learning from soldiers in this village and It wouldn't have been surprising if he was told that no one his age would be his opponent. The poor boy dug his own grave when he asked to spar with Joren.

"Well, that was awesome, but I need to go home now. I'll see you guys tomorrow." Helen grabbed Joren's arm and walked down the hill.

"See you. Come on Jill, let's go home as well." He held out his hand and Jill reluctantly grabbed it. Masked by her hair, she had a frown on her face before returning back to a neutral expression.

Joren had dinner with Trey and his family, talked to them for a bit after, then left the house as he said there was something he needed to do.

He flew to Jill's house to see what was up with her. Once he arrived, he could hear screaming, so without alerting anyone, he snuck into her house and listened in.

"How many times do I have to tell you? You're not practicing arcane magic! You will marry Eli, have children, and stay at home!" A man, presumably Jill's father yelled.

"But I want to!" Jill spoke back

"Listen here, young lady, you're already in trouble for telling those friends of yours that you awakened mana! Then you went behind our backs and tried to learn from the alchemist! Thank the Gods we shut that down before it progressed." Her mother spoke

"Why don't you want me to learn magic? I could earn money! Get better clothes and food for us to eat! Get us out of this backwater village! Why can't you see that it's my future you're messing with? Our future!" Jill, surprisingly wasn't stuttering with she spoke.

"It's not a woman's job to do those things! She should stay at home, look after the kids, and be a good wife to her husband!" Her father slammed his fists on their dining room table.

'Ahh, so her family is heavily into gender roles. That's unfortunate. For a world that has mana has closed the bridge between what a man and woman can and can't do, I'd expect the people to be more open to things, guess not.' Joren continued to listen in.

"That's so stupid! Why does that matter?! You're willing to jeopardize my future because of your stupid way of life? I don't even like Eli and definitely don't want to marry him!"

'Holy shit this is some good stuff!'

SLAM

"Go to your room! I will not tolerate your insolence any longer!" Her father once again slammed his fist on the table and pointed out the room with his other hand.

Jill ran to her room sobbing and Joren secretly followed her.

"Why don't they understand? They never listen!" She sat on her bed sobbing into her pillow.

"I can help you with your predicament," Joren spoke as he lay on her bed as if he was always there.

"EEEK!" Jill turned around, cuffing her pillow to her chest as she looked toward the source of the voice with a scared expression.

"Relax, it's only me, I'm not here to bite you or anything. Well, not right now at least."

"J-Joren?! W-What are you d-doing here?"

"I saw the way you were checking me out today. Well, I slightly noticed it before but never put it together until I overheard your conversation with your parents. So you don't like Eli huh? That's surprising." Joren got up and sat close to Jill.

"M-My parents want me to marry him. He's the son of a guard and is being trained by a former soldier, he awakened mana and might go to the academy. My parents think that I should have his kids and become a mother." She started sobbing again

"But that's not what you want."

"No." Tears came out of her eyes as if a dam broke, so Joren wrapped his arms around her and comforted her until she was ready to talk again.

'What the fuck am I doing? Why am I pampering this annoying bitch?! No no no, hold it in Joren, don't go crazy just yet.'

"I can help you."

"H-How?"

"I'll probably leave this place within the next three days. I'm going to train for a bit, destroy a certain bandit camp, meet up with friends, then head to the royal academy. Maybe fuck a few bitches along the way."

"W-What? You're not staying here to marry Helen?"

"Pfffft, no! I'm just here to I can fuck over her dad's life and eventually kill him. I'm just using his wife and daughter as ways to torture him before I do so. But I plan on killing him soon and that's when I'm going to leave."

Jill got visibly uncomfortable when he said why he was truly there. She inched away slightly but Joren pulled her into his embrace. He grabbed one of her big tits and started groping it.

"Ahnn~!"

"Tell me, Jill, do you want my help? I can give you what you want. Power, education, money. You can come with me to the academy. I'll pay for your tuition. Fuck your shitty parents, fuck Eli, and fuck this backwater village. Come with me and I'll give you what you want, what you need, what you desire."

She didn't know what to say. She was kind of scared as she just learned that Joren was a deranged person, but his offer also appealed to her. She hated living here and wanted to explore the world, see other places, and learn magic. She couldn't do any of that if she stayed.

"I-If I say yes, is there a catch?" She asked nervously

Joren just gave her a smile, removing her top and groping her harder.

"Ahnn~W-Wait~Mhnnnnn~"

"You'll just have to be mine, in both body and mind. I'll become your master and you'll belong to me and I can use you in any way I see fit, like what I'm doing right now. But I promise you, if you agree to be mine, your future will be open to as many possibilities as you want. I won't stunt your growth as I want strong people beside me, but I also want loyal people."

She was still uncomfortable with Joren playing with her body, but his offer sounded really nice and she didn't want to pass that up. She would willingly give up her body if it meant she could get away from her current life. She only felt sad that Helen would suffer, but if she was able to leave on her own, she and Helen would probably disconnect anyway.

"I-I accept your offer!"

Joren grinned ear to ear and pulled her in close. He then engraved his servant's sigil on her naval and told her to sit in the lotus position.

"As promised, I will pave the way for your future, but I'll also give you something right now to make sure you know I'm serious. Don't fight anything I do and just accept it." Jill nodded at his words.

'I've never tried this before so I hope It works and I don't fuck her up. This would be a waste of some good pussy. I can already imagine how big her tits will be when she develops mana at a higher level.'

Joren put his hands on her back and started absorbing mana at a rapid pace. He was trying two things. First, he wanted to see if he could use his abundance of mana to force someone to break through easier, and second, he wanted to see if he could give that person an element.

All the mana that was being absorbed by Joren, he directed it to his hands and forcefully poured it into Jill.

"Nhnnn!" She winced with discomfort and slight pain as her body was being force-fed mana.

"Bear with it." Joren continued to pour mana into her, forcing her body to exceed its capacity to trigger the circle-creating process.

After 30 minutes, her body finally reached its limits and started forming a circle. She was visibly in pain as this was an unnatural process, but Joren made sure not to go overboard but also push just enough to continue. He aided in the grueling process of forming a circle which took two hours as he didn't want to cause permanent damage to her.

After her circle was formed, Joren refilled her empty body with mana and then started pumping black mana inside her.

"Now that you're a 1st circle cultivator, you can acquire an element now. I've noticed that your body attracts black mana so that means you have an affinity with the shadow element. I'm going to draw all the black mana in the area into your body now." And so he did.

Just like the times he cultivated an element, he did that same process on Jill and even himself. This process took way longer than the other two, taking about three hours in total. He finally pumped enough black mana into her as he saw her core turn black.

"Phew, the rest is up to her." The whole process took a lot more out of him than he realized. He was sweating buckets and his breathing was irregular.

'Her foundation is horrible and she will have to spend the next few months solidifying it, but she should be okay. Hmmm? Should I also get the shadow element? Nah, I don't feel like it honestly. I should get used to the elements I have before adding another one to my arsenal.' He waited patiently until Jill finished cultivating the shadow element.
