Chapter 5 The Search iii
"but we are exhausted" concluded Kai. "It's alright, you can stay for some days" said the retreating old woman. Chloe was surprised as to why her mother would accommodate a total stranger. She thought he had spell which made her stare deep into his eyes if she would find anything suspicious.
Seeing this act of hers, Kai let out a throaty chuckle "I can see I have a crush" he hummed as he turned around almost immediately and went to where is friend sat. Chloe who heard was he said felt her cheek burn in embarrassment as she too quickly turned around and went back to her garden. Kai tapped his friend on the shoulder in attempt to wake him and then led him into the small house.

The next morning, Chloe woke up thinking she heard noises from the kitchen. On getting there, she saw Kai washing dishes and preparing breakfast wearing only his pant. 'Its not like he was in his own house', Chloe could only hold in her comment. "What are you doing here!?" turning back he answered "that's not the way you greet elders in the morning""pfff... that's none of my business pls get the hell out of my kitchen." "This kitchen is also mine remember, I'm living here now" came his curt reply.
"You are invading my kitchen and being disrespectful, please leave" she said unable to contain her anger. She moved to the other corner of the kitchen and opened the pot which was on top the stove. "...what the hell is this? you are boiling bunch of leaves (well that's what it looked like to her )"she bursted out"please you need to leave right now". Kai ignored her words as he went to add more seasonings to the food; his food. "Are you deaf, or can't you hear properly when you are in your pants only" "Oh... thought you didn't notice it""leave..." she said in a high pitched tone.
Her mother came to the kitchen when she heard Chloe scream "what is going on here? I heard your voice from my room" she said staring at Chloe for an answer. Chloe told her mother what happened but however she didn't react much "leave the gentleman to do whatever he wants if it makes him feel comfortable" Chloe was so surprised by what her mother said that she didn't even notice her absence. "You heard your mum, pls leave..." Chloe could only glare at him and left the kitchen in anger.
When got to her room she took her bath and changed into a more comfortable cloth. She went doing her morning chores as usual, trying her best to avoid him. After breakfast she went back to her room to rest, she was about to close the curtains when she saw a familiar figure in her garden watering her flowers. She knew it was Kia so she immediately ran to the garden "Kai or whatever you call yourself, what are you doing in my garden" she asked with hands akimbo and her breathe slightly hitched. Kai on the other hand just spared her a glance and continued with what he was doing.
Kai continued for some more seconds until he mistakenly stepped on one of the flowers making Chloe flame up "what!!! you stepped on my roses?"she shouted in anger. "why are you so worked up, it's just a flower... alright I'm sorry...""sorry? is sorry going to give me my flowers you disrespectful man. Its just a flower huh!?"she said in a rush.
Kai found her so cute when she is angry, it made her face so red. Then, he purposely stepped on another. Chloe was sensible enough so she knew that this arrogant stranger will not back out, she decided to leave. She stormed out of the garden and left the compound immediately, this man was getting on her nerves. Kai could only chuckle in amusement.
