Chapter 112: Advanced and Old

He seemed easygoing, and this so-called throne room seemed like it was just some office? Jonathan thought to himself. He wondered what kind of king he would meet and what kind of world he ruled over.

He's quite young, Markie thought to himself. He felt a surge of curiosity about the young king who had led Lunaria through the apocalypse.

Isn't he handsome? Margie thought to herself. She felt her cheeks heat up as she admired the king's appearance.

"Did you check their backgrounds?" The king asked.

"Yes, your Majesty. They are nothing but an ordinary group, I can assure your Majesty that they are good people judging from the inspection" the lieutenant replied.

"That's good then, also. Good work, for staying alive, Alvin" (Alvin is the name of the lieutenant). Souta said

"I am honored, your majesty" he said as he bowed.

"You all are probably tired from your journey. You should rest. I will let you take care of them" Souta said.

"Yes, your Majesty" Alvin said as he bowed again.

The survivors felt relieved that they had passed the inspection and were allowed to stay in Lunaria's heart. They wondered what kind of treatment they would receive from their hosts and what kind of challenges they would face in this new world.

As the survivors were escorted to their assigned quarters, they couldn't help but marvel at the luxurious accommodations provided within Lunaria's heart. The chambers were adorned with intricate designs and comfortable furnishings, a stark contrast to the hardships they faced outside the capital base.

As they settled in, discussions arose among the group about their impressions of King Souta. Some were impressed by his youth and charisma, finding comfort in the notion of a capable leader. Others remained cautious, mindful of the rumors circulating through the capital about the king's rule.

In the opulent confines of their quarters, the survivors gathered to share their thoughts about Lunaria and its enigmatic leader, King Souta.

Jonathan, leaning against a finely crafted wooden table, voiced his concerns, "I can't shake the feeling that things might not be as serene as they seem. Did anyone catch the undertones during the assembly?"

Markie, reclining on a plush chair, nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, there's something beneath the surface. I mean, the luxury is great, but it feels like there's a layer of secrecy. What aren't they telling us?"

Margie, glancing at a mural on the wall, chimed in with a touch of sarcasm, "Did anyone notice how 'handsome' the king is, according to some people? Seems like he's got a fan club already."

A few chuckles echoed in the room, but the conversation soon turned serious again.

Emma, (just another random name in the group) sitting by the window, gazed out at the bustling capital base beyond. "I can't shake the feeling that this kingdom is built on more than just resilience. There's a purpose, and I want to know what it is."

The room fell into a contemplative silence as the survivors grappled with the mysteries surrounding them. The luxurious surroundings only heightened their curiosity, creating an atmosphere of both comfort and unease. As they awaited further interactions with King Souta and Lunaria's inner workings, the survivors couldn't shake the sense that their journey had only just begun.

Alvin then entered their room, "How about checking the kingdom for yourself? It's more fun than just basing from rumors noh?" He said overheard the conversation

Taking Alvin's suggestion to heart, the survivors decided to explore Lunaria firsthand. Stepping out into the afternoon sunlight, they marveled at the organized chaos of the capital base. Soldiers marched in disciplined formations, citizens engaged in various activities, and the air was filled with a sense of purpose.

As they strolled through the labyrinthine corridors, Alvin acted as their guide. "Welcome to the heart of Lunaria," he said with a grin. "There's more to this place than meets the eye."

They passed by bustling marketplaces where merchants traded goods from across the kingdom. Colorful stalls displayed a variety of items, from intricate artifacts to everyday necessities. The survivors couldn't help but notice the abundance and prosperity that contrasted sharply with the scarcity they experienced in the outside world.

As they continued, they encountered a man selling swords, and armor, it's like they are from medieval era or something "Lunaria values knowledge and history," Alvin explained. "Our survival depends on understanding the past and building a future."

They were amazed by the craftsmanship, it's sturdy and strong, it's also light and flexible. "Swords and armor has been manufactured by talented craftsmans, have you noticed? That most of the soldiers and civilians here has sword in their waist, instead of relying too much in guns, we use medieval weapons, that don't need any gun powder" Alvin explained

The group look around, and they do really had sword or bow with them, it's like they are in a medieval society.

The group, captivated by the display of medieval weaponry, engaged in conversation with the skilled craftsman. As they examined the swords and armor, the craftsman shared the intricacies of Lunaria's unique approach to survival.

"These weapons are a testament to our commitment to self-sufficiency," the craftsman explained. "In the aftermath of the apocalypse, we realized the value of knowledge from the past. Swords and bows don't rely on external resources like gunpowder. They're reliable, durable, and effective."

Jonathan, testing the weight of a finely crafted sword, raised an eyebrow. "So, you're saying Lunaria deliberately chose a medieval path for its defense strategy?"

The craftsman nodded, polishing a gleaming breastplate. "Exactly. We learned from history. In times of crisis, simpler and proven methods can often outshine modern complexities. Plus, it's easier to maintain these weapons with the resources we have."

As the survivors continued to explore, they noticed the seamless integration of medieval elements into Lunaria's society. Soldiers patrolled confidently with swords at their sides, and citizens practiced archery in designated areas. The sight of armor-clad individuals added a unique charm to the bustling streets.

Emma, intrigued, asked Alvin, "Doesn't this make Lunaria vulnerable to more technologically advanced threats?"

Alvin chuckled, "We may appear old-fashioned, but don't be fooled. Lunaria values innovation too. Our scientists work on advanced technologies, and we constantly adapt. It's a blend of the old and the new, creating a resilient society."

As the group continued their exploration, they gained a deeper understanding of Lunaria's strategic choices. The medieval aesthetics coexisting with modern ingenuity painted a picture of a society determined to carve its own path in a world reshaped by catastrophe. The survivors couldn't help but appreciate the wisdom behind Lunaria's fusion of history and progress.

The survivors also witnessed the inner workings of Lunaria's innovative projects, where engineers and scientists collaborated on endeavors to enhance the kingdom's capabilities. Alvin pointed out, "See what I mean? We're not just surviving; we're evolving."

Eventually, they reached the outskirts of the kingdom, where vast fields and orchards stretched out. Farmers worked diligently, ensuring a steady supply of food for Lunaria. The survivors were struck by the contrast between the thriving agriculture within the walls and the desolation beyond.

As the day unfolded, the survivors gained a deeper appreciation for Lunaria's resilience and determination. Alvin, sensing their curiosity, shared stories of the kingdom's triumphs and challenges, offering glimpses into its history.

As evening approached, they returned to their quarters with newfound insights. The survivors realized that Lunaria was more than just a sanctuary; it was a beacon of hope, actively shaping a post-apocalyptic world. The mysteries remained, but the journey into the heart of the kingdom had only just begun.
