The guards were on the way back, bringing with them a company of battle tested veterans who gained employment in the mills. Upon hearing of the demonstration, which escalated into a full riot thanks to Old Vincent, the men were up in arms, outraged at the old man's cunning manipulation. It didn't take long for them to arm themselves, gather, and march to the settlement's rescue.
"Talk about being ungrateful. That old coot Vincent has forgotten how the enlistment of us migrants helped in the Siege of the Bandit Fortress and the Battle of River Aourus. It's sickening!" A logs man complained.
"Right, he talked as if the school was exclusively ran for migrants only. They're just plain lazy, that's why they don't have jobs anymore. They could have enrolled in there, just like my son." A millworker replied.
