LXIII: Finally, a good opponent!

Seone was expectant, because last night when he was told that he would have to fight to the death against a quite capable and powerful elf knight, he felt expectant. He was not afraid of dying, he was confident that he would win and that he would fight to the last capabilities of his body and mind.

Well, even if he lost limbs, he didn't care, he had Samantha by his side to give him a fairly complete recovery, he had seen her demonstrate her mammoth ability to heal others, it would almost seem like a time reversal, but it was verified by the army mages and there were no temporal fluctuations in her abilities when she used them, which just showed how capable she was.

Apparently the elves wanted to do this as a way to boost their own morale after some recent losses, especially the loss of a key figure to Jessica. Apparently, the elder elf she encountered and fought was some sort of reinforcing commander sent by the queen, but ran into Jessica on the way... we know how that ended, don't we?

Well, the elves made the proposal and it took the humans two days to agree, especially since they had some doubts about a possible elven conspiracy behind this suddenly singular competition, but a magical contract backed by the will of the world as one of the conditions solved everything.

The fight will be to the death, the only equipment available will be your own weapons, which must be registered by both sides. Before, during and after the fight, neither side may attack the other during the day, no exceptions. No enhancement potions, spells, or elements that can empower the user are allowed before or during the fight.

No third party intervention is allowed, not even to concede defeat if the side fighter loses consciousness. It is a fight that starts with two living and must end with one dead.

Obviously this is a competition of a rather cruel nature, even with those clauses that try to maintain justice, one cannot help but think that it is something very barbaric, and it is strange that the always demure and refined elves would suggest such a thing.

But Seone didn't care, he had wanted to find a good opponent for a long time, the fight against Damien wasn't as great as it seemed, at least in his mind. Yes, it allowed him to improve his strength, especially mentally, but it wasn't a fight where he could really let loose.

Against Fenrir he enjoyed it more, because he was close to dying many times and he felt that even if he did his best he couldn't beat that big dog, which showed him how powerful he could become in the future, so he appreciated that fight quite a bit, even more because he met interesting people to fight side by side with.

Now he felt he could have a good fight and was looking forward to it. The snake that represented his vitality was also in a good mood along with Seone, making the young man feel quite energetic and ready for action.

In fact, white steam was constantly coming out of his mouth due to the speed at which his energy was circulating in his body, but he allowed it to get out of control because he wasn't fighting and didn't want to keep his mind so busy.

"I hope the enemy is also someone skilled, I can learn a lot by fighting skilled people," Seone said, trembling with excitement, and looked excitedly at the distant elven crowd that had approached only two kilometers from the human camp.

For this day there would be an absolute ceasefire on both sides, that was why the elves were so openly close to the humans. Soon, Seone was approached by Marie, who looked at him with some concern, though her look quickly changed to one of envy.

"You lucky bastard! I wanted to fight too, it's not fair!" Marie complained affectionately, taking Seone's arm and placing it between her breasts in a flirtatious manner.

She wasn't wearing any armor today, just blue shorts and a pink blouse, at first she thought Seone might be a little nervous, but when she felt the exuberant heat the boy was unconsciously releasing, she decided to just relax as well and let her true thoughts out.

"Well, it was Ron who recommended me, and the others agreed, blame him," Ron sneezed loudly elsewhere in the camp, knowing that someone was sure to blame him for something, and he soon knew who it was, but that just made him laugh.

"Yes, yes, I know, I said that I had fought many battles against elven rookies and veterans and that it was time to give you a more interesting mission than just destroying supply lines," Marie said with a small pout on her face, almost everyone had interesting missions, while Seone had the most common but also the most dangerous ones in the sense that he can easily fall into a trap.

Which he did, several times. But he was always able to get out of them, albeit with injuries, but it was those fights that honed everything he had learned and gained from his adventure on the moon, as he was currently at his peak.

He even fully integrated the use of his pistol and his new eye, and became someone quite annoying to fight with. The only bad thing was that he realized that his sword couldn't withstand much more of his increasingly dense vitality that he was constantly compressing.

Seone simply enjoyed the contact of his arm with Marie's soft but firm body, and although his heart was racing with the thought of their future fight, he was much calmer than before. After a long breath, his mouth releasing a dense cloud of steam like a train, his energy and muscles relaxed.

He looked into Marie's beautiful brown eyes and wasted no time in planting a soft kiss on the blonde's lips, parting a few seconds later when he heard his name called.

"Well, it looks like it's time," Seone said goodbye as she completely separated from Marie and looked towards the open field where several people were gathered, that's where she had to go. His heart was beating fast again, but now his body was under his control, his energy was and his expression went from relaxed to serious.

Even the powerful beings watching the show were interested in the upcoming development, especially certain beings who paid special attention to Seone. He wore a simple, tight black t-shirt that showed off his strong, but not corpulent, rather athletic body. Black pants and hard-soled boots, also black, because he liked black very much.

His brown skin seemed to glow in the sun as he approached the center of the open field. His hair was long and curly, but he didn't care how it looked. With a confident smile, his approach was accompanied by the full release of his momentum, a momentum filled with silence, death, and now, murderous intent, a very strong one indeed.

It was like a cunning beast that began to release its intentions provocatively towards its rival, a rather tall, silver-haired young elf wearing somewhat tight white clothing, contrasting sharply with Seone in his black robes. The elf's temperament was delicate, but the seriousness in his face, as well as his masculine and well-defined features, would make him worthy of the adjective 'gigachad'.

He looked at Seone with his green eyes, his impulse was also released, it was one full of peace, as if it was nature itself, but at the same time it was plagued by a terrible feeling of destruction, mania and madness. Both impulses seemed to be clashing in the air, fighting with each other.

Experienced people in the audience on both sides could see how the world seemed to split into two sides, one gray, monochromatic and lifeless, with terrible red eyes in the sky looking into the other half.

One half was colorful, full of various pleasant tones, but slowly turning into a psychedelic mix of random and strange colors that caused pain if you were mentally weak.

When the two subjects looked into each other's eyes, they knew that the other one would really fight to the death, give everything, use every trick in the book, and resort to low tactics to win, but most of all... they would enjoy every second, no, they were already enjoying every second of this encounter.

Seone approached the Lord of Sunflower City and bowed slightly, maintaining his momentum, not because he had lost, but because everything that needed to be done had already been done. He had successfully tested his enemy and he had done the same, so there was no need for such a gratuitous display.

Next to the lord was Princess Rolanda, and on the side of the elves was Princess Mitra, accompanied by the aforementioned fighting elf and another figure, a black-haired woman with a beautiful mole at the corner of her lip, dressed in typical mage robes, though the hood was uncovered.

"Well, since you're here, Seone, let's get on with our evaluation of the weapons presented. On our side, Seone's weapons are an execution sword made of non-magical materials, without any enchantments, circuits, or matrix, just a normal sword, though quite heavy.

It is full of cracks, so it can break in battle, yet Seone insists on using it. Also, the weapon has a lot of aggro attached to it... that would be the only supernatural thing about it.

Also, a strange weapon that only Seone can use, capable of firing some balls that can be manipulated by the user, you saw the video of its power, didn't you? Not much to say," Rolanda concluded as Seone equipped his weapons, feeling quite comfortable.

Although she didn't like having a nearly broken weapon, she felt it was necessary to carry it, she had a strange feeling as if her senses and instincts were asking her to carry it. According to the nature of his current path, following his senses as well as his instincts was obviously something he didn't think much about, and he carried it.

"Our fighter is Ishmael, his weapon is a two-meter spear, a magical weapon of course. Its nature is a mystery, but we can say that it doesn't directly increase the power of the user, but since he is very compatible with his weapon, his power goes a small step further, something that is not reprehensible," Mitra said with pride in his voice, which made Rolanda feel a little annoyed, but she let it go.

"Well, since all is said and done, the battle will begin, right? If you will join me in creating the barriers, Your Highness Rolanda," the black-haired elf spoke, and Rolanda nodded.

Soon the two kilometers of open field were covered by a barrier of magical power that did not block the view, but prevented anything from entering or leaving, not even animals.

Seone and Ishmael were only 100 meters apart, but they could see each other clearly because of their acuity. The atmosphere was tense, but the will to fight was growing. The area where they stood had been cleared of trees and grass, leaving only dirt and rocky ground, a perfect battlefield for the two.

Seone slowly drew his sword out of its sheath, stroking its edges, feeling every bump on the edge, every crevice, and in that moment, he felt an incredible connection to his weapon. Covering it with vitality this time felt unexpectedly fluid and comfortable, as if it had always been this way.

Ishmael held his spear vertically, with the blade pointing down, and covered it with his magical power, which was purple in color, but it was quite sinister, giving off a very bad vibe.

The two looked at each other, and after a few seconds, they charged at each other. A legendary battle was about to take place, and not only the humans and elves were paying attention to it, but some nearby herds were also watching with interest.
