CHAPTER 8

The demon bat turned back and saw Deborah with the sword.

It looked at her from head to toe and laughed.

"You're holding a sword?

A woman is holding a sword?

I'll devour you before you even touch me with it".

Deborah almost felt discouraged at first,but once she remembered her grandfather's words,which said,"It doesn't matter who you are.

Whether you're big or small,fat or slim.

As long as you have the faith in yourself, that you can do it...,then you're unstoppable ".

She looked straight into the eyes of the demon bat,raised the sword and pointed it at him.

The demon bat saw how serious she was, and said,with a mocking look," With pleasure my lady".

It fling it's tail at her with speed,thinking she would run or get hit.

Surprisingly, Deborah dodged the tail,used her sword to slice it from beneath.

The demon bat shrieked in pain.

It's tail was cut off,and it annoyed him.

"You'll pay for this",it roared at her,and charged.

The demon bat was using everything it had on her.

Saliva, Sharp claws,even biting.

But he was no match for Deborah.

She fought like a true warrior indeed,that's why the demon bat was finding it hard to deal with her.

She wasn't fighting alone,Blue also joined her to deal with the demon bat.

They both attacked it,and it fell to the ground flat.

Finally,the demon bat was defeated, if that was true.

Deborah and Blue were planning of leaving the hall,to help the others.

"Come on Blue,let's go and help the others ",Deborah said.

Blue nodded.

Unexpectedly, the demon bat pounced on Deborah,trying to bite her head off.

Blue was about to help,but the demon bat gave him a blow,sending him away.

Deborah was struggling to free herself from the demon bat, before he chops her head off.

The demon bat finally pinned her down,opened it's mouth wide,to chop off her.

Suddenly, a ball of fire came,blasting the demon bat off Deborah.

Deborah was astonished.

She turned back and saw Reed,looking towards the direction of the demon bat.

She was happy.

" Finally, he's here",she said,moving out of the way.

The demon bat stood up angrily,"You stubborn lion,I'll destroy.....".

He was shocked to see Reed.

"Reed?! you're here?".

"Where else will I be,huh?",he asked.

The demon bat, chuckled and said,walking round the hall,"Longtime no seen Reed.

How was your trip to Book world?

It must have been wonderful right".

Reed too began to move round the hall,as he smiled and said,"Great I'll say.

But I still came back.

And I'm going to send you on a trip as well..",he stopped.

The demon bat asked,stopping as well.

"To where if I may ask?".

Secretly, it was bringing out a poisonous spike from it's back.

Then Reed said,"To the underworld ".

Quickly, it threw the spike at Reed.

Reed caught it quickly, and threw it back to the demon bat in speed.

The demon bat dodged it,and laughed.

" You can't kill....".

Before he could complete his statement,Reed gave it a huge punch on the face.

The demon bat flew backward, and managed to hold itself.

It flew up and began to spit saliva from up.

Reed didn't waste any time.

He used his power to gather everything together, turned them into a flaming net,and sent it to the demon bat.

The demon bat wanted to run away from the flaming net,but was too late.

The demon bat was trapped.

The net burnt him to ashes immediately.

Blue,who was with Deborah, jumped up happily, and rushed to meet Reed.

Deborah had a smile on her face,as she kept on staring at Reed.

"Wow!,grandfather didn't make any mistake in creating Reed.

He did great".

She remembered what the demon bat had said earlier,about a plan.

"Grandfather was right.

Reed was created for a special purpose.

If that demon bat hadn't said anything to me,I won't have known what they were up to.

Now they want to get rid of Reed, so that they can execute their plan.

But as long as am here,I won't allow it".

Reed was stroking Blue's mane,when he saw the sword on Deborah's hand.

He was wondering, how the sword got into her hands in the first place,then he asked.

"Hey!".

"Huh?!"she looked at him,still holding the sword.

He points at the sword and said,"How did you get hold of the sword? ".

" Sword?",she looks at her hand,smiles and looks back at him.

"Oh this sword?! ",she said.

She noticed his face expression,like that of an angry man,and she quickly dropped the sword.

" Actually, the demon bat had scattered the hall,bringing everything down,including the sword".

"So why's it with you? Where you fighting as well?",he asked,looking at her suspiciously.

Deborah began to blush.

She thought to herself, "Wow he wants to know if I fought with the sword.

I'll say yes", she decided and wanted to speak.

When suddenly, she had another thought that planted fear in her.

" No!,what if I tell him,and he makes me fight so many monsters as a punishment. Uh uh I'm not saying",she was afraid.

Reed could see that she was contemplating whether to speak or not.

Then he asked her,looking serious, "Did you or didn't you?".

" Nope!!,I wasn't using it to fight.

Just took it to defend myself that's all.

Blue was the one doing the whole fighting,... alone!",she said.

Reed had a feeling that she was lying,but he decided to believe her,since he believed that no woman had the guts to use a sword.

He was about leaving, when he said to her,"This hall is in a mess,you need to clean it up again.Let's go Blue",he called out,turning to leave.

Blue came running in speed,and accidentally pushed Deborah with force.

Deborah couldn't control herself, as she fell on Reed,who held her tight,so that he won't fall.

Blue immediately noticed what he had done,and didn't hesitate to run out of the hall quickly.

Reed saw him running away.

He shooked his head and said,"Nowadays he's fond of playing rou...".

He couldn't complete his statement again,because of Deborah.

She was staring at him lovingly, as if this was her only and last chance of being close to him.

Reed couldn't take his eyes off her,as he too stared at her.

She had a lovely smile,that made him to keep on staring.

Until a monster,that looked just like a cartoon clops,but different, came in and interrupted, "Master!", he called out.

Reed quickly snapped out of his fantasy world,and looked at the person he was holding.

He frowned at her,snapping her out of her dream world.

Then he released her from his arms.

He looked at the monster,that said," We've captured the remaining demon bats and locked them up.

The dead bodies of the remaining would be burnt".

"Good",he replied.

He began to think of what next to do,when he saw Deborah, carrying the mop to clean.

He was looking at her,as she was scratching her head,wondering where to start from,due to the mess.

Reed folded his arms and said to the monster,"Get some monsters to clean this hall quick ".

" Yes sir!".

Deborah heard it and became happy.

She sighed in relief and dropped the mop.

She stretched out her arm happily,thinking she was free.

That's when Reed said out loud,"And take this prisoner back to the dungeon".

"Yes master".

Looking upset,Deborah's happy face soon turned into a sad one.

The monster commanded her to follow him,which she did.

She was walking out of the hall,looking at Reed,who turned his face away.

She sighed and thought to herself, "For a second,I thought you were beginning to have compassion on me".

They where on their way to the dungeon, when Deborah spotted the Prince and others.

She smiled at the prince,but he didn't smile back,but turned his face away.

She felt sad.

She pleaded with the monster to excuse her,which he did,after so many pleading. She rushed to meet the prince,who turned his face away again, making her sad.

She then said to him,facing down," I'm sorry my prince.

Pls forgive me. I know that I've made a mistake by opening the book,but I...".

"Why are you apologising for someone else's mistake? ",he interrupted, still facing the other side.

She looked up at him.

Then he said,finally turning to face her," I'm sure that your step sister was behind it".

"Oh my goodness!! ",she screamed," What happened to your face?,did you fall down or something ".

The prince scoffed and said,looking really angry," Fall down? I wish.

It was that Mad man who calls himself Reed.

And I'll make sure he pays back for ruining my face".

The right side of his face was swollen,and red.

Deborah was still shocked at the sight of it.

She felt sad and wanted to calm him down,when the monster came and pushed her away.
