CHAPTER 13
Still confused on what to do,Deborah almost lost hope on what to do.
She quickly remembered something, which may help Reed,"When I was weak and cold,my parents always used to warm me up with a cup of hot tea.Yes!",she realized something, "I need to warm him up.Blue!", she looks at Blue,who seems to be ready for anything," Do you know any warm place in the castle? ".Blue shooked his head and rushed to the door.He used his mouth to open the door and looked at Deborah, who quickly understood him.
She held on to Reed,struggling to take him outside of the room.
Zipora had destroyed almost everywhere, when she noticed some of the monsters,that passed her serpents, coming towards her.She hissed and turned into a giant cobra,spitting acid on them.
The castle was under attack indeed.Serpents trooped into the castle, attacking the monsters that where on their way.
Esther and the other girls had to look for something to defend themselves, since they were attacked.
Lucy and her friends didn't want to help,but run for their dear lives.But they had to join in the fight,when a serpent almost bit them.
Meanwhile, Deborah was following Blue to the place he was taking her.Dragging Reed was so hard for her, but she refused to give up.
They had gotten somewhere, when a serpent came from nowhere,and almost bit Deborah. She quickly dodged the snake,holding Reed tight.
The serpent hissed and jumped to bite her,that's when Blue, grabbed the serpent and squeezed it to death.
Multitude of serpents, began to troop from behind,coming towards them.Deborah looked at Blue and said quickly, "Take us there quick!".
Quickly, Blue bent down for Deborah. She got on his back with Reed tight to her.And he dashed off quickly.
The serpents chased them in speed,spitting out acid towards them.But Blue was dodging it.
He was running in speed,when he stopped and turned to his left. Again, he turned to his left again.Until he got to an iron door,and entered inside forcefully.
Quickly, Deborah got down from Blue,leaving Reed on his back,rushed to the iron door and locked it up." Phew!!",she exhaled,wiping the sweat on her face.
She looked up,and found out that they were in a blacksmith workshop,"That's true!.Blacksmiths always deal with hot irons.Didn't know that the castle had...",before she could complete her statement, Reed was about to fall off from Blue's back.
"Reed!",she said out loud,running towards him.
Quickly, she grabbed him into her arms and wrapped her arms around him," Am here",she said,holding him tight,and rubbing his back,to create heat.
He was in so much pain,that he wrapped his arms around Deborah,and squeezed her close to himself tightly,so as to ease the pain.
She could feel his pain,and it made her sad,"I promise..,nothing will happen to you",she said,carrying him close to the wall.
She laid him close to the fire box,stood up and began to search for coal.
Meanwhile, outside the castle, the battle was becoming so..tough.To the extent that,the monsters began to launch heavy stones at Zipora.
"Fire!!", the prince ordered, as it turns out that he was the one,telling them what to do.
Zipora refused to give up.She was determined to get the book,by fire or by force.
The prince had ordered the monsters to launch heavy stones at her again,when she spat an acid on the stones,melting it." When I get that book,I'll eat all of you up!","Why don't you go and eat yourself first,and tell us how you taste.That's if you live",the prince fired back,launching another stone at her.
Deborah finally put on the fire and brought Reed closer.
She decided to open his shirt very well,so that the heat could touch him well.But she was finding it hard to do.
His chest was exposed a little,making her to vibrate and sweat.
She closed her eyes and opened it fully,then she breathe in with relief.
BANG!
The serpents began to hit the iron door with their body,so that it would open.Deborah was worried, because Reed was still cold,"What's making him cold?",she wondered, checking him.
All of a sudden,Blue began to growl angrily at Reed,as if he was angry."What's wrong?",she asked,wondering why he was angry.
Blue's attention was on Reed's pocket.He was growling at him.
Deborah couldn't get what Blue was trying to tell her.She looked at his eyes,and saw that he was focused on his pocket, "What?,is it his pocket?", she asked,looking at Blue,then back at Reed.
Then,she decided to check his pocket,and she found the red stone inside.
She raised it up to see it clearly, and wondered what it was.
Blue saw the stone and roared at Deborah, making her scared," Come on Blue!,don't scare me like that!",she sighed.
She then understood what Blue was trying to tell her, "Oh!,you mean that the stone is the one causing Reed's weakness?", he nods.
" How's that possible?. But grandfather made him strong.Only the book is his weakness "she wondered, looking at the stone.
Then,she covered the stone,and checked Reed's temperature.
Her face lightened up with a smile immediately," He's alright!,he's alright! ".She was happy.
His body was okay,and it seemed as if he was resting.
Deborah was now relieved, not until the serpents outside, continued to bang the iron door." God!,what do we do now?.I don't have my sword with me",she wondered, thinking of a way out.
Surprisingly, Blue walked close to a wall,pushed it,and behold.It had a secret passage into the dungeon.
Deborah gasped and looked at Blue with a smile,"Thank you Blue",she said,about to go.
She stopped,and took a look at Reed,who was still there.Then she said to Blue,"Pls take care of him.Am sure you can handle those serpents, if they barge in".Blue nodded.
She smiled and went through the secret passage, while the wall closed from behind.
Zipora was still desperate on entering the castle by all means.
The prince made sure it was difficult for her,as he ordered the monsters to launch fire balls now.
Angry,Zipora used her tail to hit the fire balls back at the monsters,scattering them immediately.
Quickly, the prince and the monsters launched another one at her,to stop her.
At the other side of the castle,Deborah came out from a different part of the castle.She saw the giant snake fighting the monsters with all her strength, and thought of a way to get her away from the castle.
She looked round to see what she can use.Her eyes came across some small rocks,the type she could carry,and thought of an idea,"What do you guys say about a giant sling,huh?",she turned to talk to her skeleton friends.They both stood like warriors,saying,"Yeah!,let's do it!".
But they soon realized that they weren't warriors, but babies, "Am scared!", one cried.
One skeleton was holding a small rock, while the other was holding the leg of the first.They were lying on the ground.
Deborah was standing. She grabbed the leg of the second, and said," Ready!","We're gonna die!"the first skeleton cried.
She gathered her power,and began to spin round in speed.She was speeding up,until the skeleton shot the rock at Zipora.
BAM!
It knocked her on the head and she collapsed.
The prince and the monsters became surprised, "Where did that rock come from?", he asked.A monster saw Deborah afar,preparing to launch the next rock,then he said," Its Deborah ".
The prince looked and saw her.He had a smile on his face and said," Of course. We have a professional fighter with us and we forgot".
Zipora stood up and turned to the direction of Deborah. She was furious.
Deborah launched the second rock,but she became surprised, when Zipora melted it with her acid.
"That's bad", she said.
Zipora now faced her attention on Deborah, but mostly on the castle.
Deborah wanted Zipora to face her and not the castle,so she prepared the next rock.
Before she launched it,she tied the red stone on the rock,seeing that Zipora's acid was melting things." One more time",she said,launching the rock.
Zipora saw it coming and fired her acid at it,melting everything, including the stone.
"Yes!", Deborah rejoiced.
" Ahhh!",Deborah and the skeletons screamed, on seeing the angry snake,coming towards them.
Quickly, they started running.
The prince saw this and grabbed his sword quickly, running after Zipora,so that she won't hurt Deborah.
Deborah and the skeletons were running fast,when Zipora used her tail to wipe the two skeletons away.
She almost got Deborah, who quickly noticed and moved out of the way.
She came rushing towards Deborah, about to twist her.But Deborah out smarted her.
Zipora rounded Deborah up,and wanted to twist her.Quickly, Deborah stabbed her with her sword,and began to drag it round.
Zipora shrieked and pushed Deborah away.Deborah balanced herself, waiting for Zipora without fear.
This annoyed Zipora,when she looked at Deborah.
She was about to attack,when she received a slice from behind.She turned and saw the prince,"I'll kill the both of you!",she yelled,trying to attack the both of them.
Both Deborah and the prince,teamed up together and fought Zipora.
It went on for long.Until,Zipora grabbed the prince with her tail,squeezing him tight.
She opened her mouth to swallow him,when she saw Deborah from a distance, setting her sword like an arrow,and throwing it at her.
The sword pierced into Zipora's eyes,and she screamed out loudly.
The prince was free.He dragged Deborah's sword out from Zipora's eye,and used it to stab her from the throat, making her to squueze herself everywhere like an epilepsy patient.
She rolled and twisted herself, until she stopped.
"We did it!", Deborah said,hugging the prince,who handed her back her sword." Good job!,didn't know you were planning something ",he said with a smile.
Deborah smiled back at him.
The prince then said,as they began to walk back to the castle," I think we have to go and check out the people.The snake must have poisoned some of them",they rushed.
