Chap 28

THE double wedding at the resort went well. A lot of their close relatives came and greeted them, teasing her for being so secretive, but still happy for her. Her dad was the one who was still bewildered because he thought he's just invited to attend the wedding but ended up sending her in the altar. Her mom didn't tell him about it to make him surprised. Sometimes her mom was also witty.

Anthony was the happiest, because he's going to finally stay in that island with his dad and that he's going to have baby sibling, which Javier said, he asked that to him the first day. Javier seems to be born as an islander, because her health was getting well. He didn't have any attacks for the past week. Even thought they spent a lot of time in the pool swimming. Javier thought him the basic but Rafael was the one patiently teaching him to be a good swimmer.

It's because Javier and her were also busy helping Dustin and Selena prepare the wedding so they let their son be with his uncles and aunts. Speaking of aunts, all of the Redwood Siblings were present as well, and Ysa was right about saying they all look like a beauty queen. Beside of their heights who doesn't have a height lesser than 5'5", they were all pretty and in good shape. They were also welcoming when they have girl-bonding at the spa of Rafael. What's more is that, they all can understand each other.

"Aren't you going to join the dance floor?" It's Friday, a friend of hers back in high school whom she never saw after they both got busy.

She was the first one she seek when she return from Miami before, so she knew her story with Javier. She was the one who advised her to go back to her parents and tell them about the baby. They didn't have time together when she worked at Edgewood and she became an Executive in their company.

"No, I'm not in the mood." She put the grapes on her mouth. Javier gave it to her because she can't drink wine, said it's an alternative.

"I heard you were pregnant with your second child again? Congratulations, I don't know you were that fast on making your own basketball team now." She commented sarcastically.

"What can I say? My husband is fast and always a three point shooter." She played along that made Friday grimaced and she laughed.

She was so happy to see her there. She almost forgot to invite her because she couldn't think straight with the overwhelming feelings that she felt. It's a good thing that Dustin is also a good friend of her.

"So, how are you? Stella said you didn't go at the class reunion too."

"I was busy with my work at FerCon, I got a new project that time. But honestly, I don't feel like going too. I don't want to see any of our friends yet. Plus, I might see my ex there too. How about you? You didn't go there too, right?"

"I don't feel like going too. They all heard about my son. And I'm sure that they just wanted to talk and asked about him. I don't want to answer them. Wait, your ex? You mean...?"

"Yup, I and Jake broke up, about 8 months ago now. He got girl pregnant and he needed to marry her. And guess what? The girl was from a family friend of my parents too. How good was that?"

"That's awful and he's a jerk. He wasted your 10 years of relationship, just like that? We all thought ypu'll get married after college, so what happened? Why did he suddenly cheat on you?"

"He said he was upset with me, because I'm always at work and didn't have time for him. So, he just seeks for another dish to eat. He didn't know that it will make her pregnant. Like hell, is that the only thing he wanted from me? To have sex with me? I don't even enjoy doing that with him, from the first place."

She laughed at her friend's remarks. "You know, that's just an excuse of an idiot. Like, blaming you for his mistakes. I told you, you're better off without him." It's not new that she doesn't like that guy for her friend because ever since, she already told her to break up with him. But what can she say when her friend was in love with him already. Anyway, 10 years of relationship are really long enough.

"I know right? But anyway, working helps me move on, so I accepted it now. I just enjoy my life being single."

"Vacation can help too. Are they not letting you go on vacation at work?"

"It's my choice not to. Like I said, working made me forget about him. I just remembered about it when I saw you at the altar a while ago."

"Well, he's not the right guy for you, Friday. There are a lot of guys in this world who are better that him."

"For now, I think I'll enjoy being single."

"But you're not getting any younger, girl. Look at me; I already have a kid and an incoming one. Anyway, it's up to you. 10 years are not a joke anyway. But, what if you'll seduce someone to make you pregnant? Just, you know, to have a baby." She joked.

"Soon, I might be doing that. When I'll go insane, maybe." They they just both laughed.

"Happy to see you both having fun." Javier came and kissed her on her lips that made her friend groan.

"Oh, please." Friday just rolled her eyes.

"Hon, you know her, right?" she asked her husband.

"She's Friday Alcaraz, the executive in FerCon." Javier nodded.

"And a friend of mine back in High School." She added. "The one that I told you about before. We were just catching up. Plus, don't mind her being bitter because she's heartbroken."

"I'm not. I already moved on." Friday defended.

"Then find yourself a new guy."

"You know what Demitry, be thankful your pregnant, or else I throw out in the ocean." Friday said jokingly but stood up. "Anyway, congratulations for the both of you. I might as well look for a guy to seduce just what you suggested."

She just laughed again while sending her friend away. That's just how they talk and teased each other. She suddenly missed her friend. She promised to bond with her one day.
