Geth was stirred by the pull of the silk sheets tautening around him. A low groan escaped him as he pushed himself into a seated position.
Light streamed through an opening cut into the canopy of the wooden room. He was bathed in the warmth of the sun's glow while the sound of the quavering leaves sang him a pleasing melody.
He sat with eyes closed, taking in the calm with which the morning had blessed him. With the constant danger that he'd been in over the past months, this was the first time that he'd woken up so relaxed.
Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he opened them slowly to see what had disturbed his slumber. Sindri sat at the foot of the bed, uncovered and lazily running a brush through her hair.
She glanced back to see Geth sitting up behind her, his eyes tracing the shape of her back and hips. A smile played on her lips while she continued untangling the knots that had built up in her sleep.
