The last night

Their first day ended on a bad, but funny note. After that day, Leon would visit the siblings more often as he and Beatrice continue on with their bickering, making the whole mansion fill with joy and laughter.

The trio would be spotted in the garden playing around. Damien would argue with Leon and tried to protect Beatrice like how a mother hen would. He and Leon would spar as if challenging each other to see who's more worthy. Alas Damien decided to accept reality, if his sister continued to like this boy and he poses no danger to her, then he would try to be a supportive brother.

And just like that, years passed as the trio entered their young adult years. Beatrice turned 18, Leon 20 and Damien 23.

Beatrice and Leon have been on good terms throughout the years despite them continuously bicker like an old couple. They have accept the fact that they are engaged and they're fine with it because they caught feelings for each other over the past years of growing up together. Beatrice thought Leon was very charming even though he always teases her. He was there to defend and protect her when people make fun of her or harass her. As if people have suddenly forgotten his status when their engagement was announced, Leon then demonstrated his power in a cruel way as a reminder not to mess with him and his wife-to-be.

Everyone in the kingdom knew the two love birds loved each other and was vigilant in keeping their distance. There were rumors of Leon buying the largest and rarest pink diamond, then turning it into a necklace to present to his fiancé when she turned 16. Also rumors of Beatrice tailoring a suit for her fiancé using the most exclusive fabrics from her noble designer store she opened up not too long ago. But would it be a happy ending for the two love birds?

...

In the Duke's mansion, there was a figure reading a book on the couch while another figure worked on sorting out and signing important documents. Leon have finally inherited the Dukedom from his father, thus was trusted with important matters related to the Dukedom and Len Kingdom in entirety.

Leon put down his documents and looked at the girl reading on his couch. Her beauty had always enchanted him whenever he look at her. Her long lashes fluttered as she tucked her black soft hair behind her ear. Her eyes were especially beautiful along with her smile because the love arrows always struck his heart when her whole face shines brighter than the sun.

Giving a soft sigh, Leon said, "Beatrice, I'll drop you off at your mansion. It is getting late."

Beatrice looked over to the love of her life then put down her book and stretched her arms up, "alright make haste, you don't want to hear it from my brother again."

After giving out a low chuckle, Leon took her hand and led her inside a carriage with the Dukedom symbol on its side. The both went on their way to the Broan's mansion, while still holding hands.

"Are you visiting again tomorrow?" Leon asked as he caress her soft hand.

"No, I can't unfortunately. I have an order to finish at my shop" Beatrice said as she rest her head on his broad shoulder.

"Mmh, I will visit you instead. Will you be done by 6?" Leon said picking up her black strands of hair and kissed it.

"Yes, my lizard" Beatrice giggled showing her adorable dimples.

"I didn't know my monkey was willing to work- OUCH" Leon rubbed his arm at where she had hit him.

"I took one day off and you discredit the whole month when I actually DO my work, how dare you!" Beatrice huffed. Leon tried hugging him, but Beatrice pushed him away and fortunate for her the carriage stopped.

She opened the carriage door and hopped off. Beatrice felt a presence following her to the entrance door of her home and she turned around with her face pouting in annoyance.

Leon stood behind her smiling because he found her too cute. "So at 6?"

"You better pick me up!" Beatrice tipped toe to give Leon a peck on the lips. She quickly ran inside, giggling loudly.

Leon stood there looking at the door with her retreating figure still fresh in his mind. 'She will be the death of me' he thought as he chuckled ever so slightly. He return inside the carriage, "go back to the Hanson mansion."

"Yes, Your Highness" the coachman said respectfully as he whipped the horses and went on their way.

Meanwhile inside Beatrice's room, she prepared a dress and accessories for tomorrow. She laid out a purple dress with the pink diamond necklace Leon had gifted her. She looked at the necklace with warmth in her eyes, they were going to get married soon... Leon is already the Duke and their family have been talking about holding the ceremony in the next few weeks, but not sure when.

Knockings can be heard from the door, interrupting her train of thoughts, "come in."

A young maid with her hair in a bun came in bowing her head, "Young Miss the bath is ready."

"Thank you Marie" said Beatrice as she went into the hot and large bath to relax her nerves. After the bath she wore her night pajamas and flopped onto her bed. Tomorrow is going to be tiring, she will be finishing up the order that her and her team of dressmakers have been working on for this month. Her drowsiness slowly took over her thoughts and she fell into deep slumber unknowing the shadows behind the curtains started moving.
