DANTE'S POV

"Uhm, I don't know why you haven't been picking up your calls, Alpha Jackson, but please call me back when you get this message." I hung up.

I had known Alpha Jackson to be a man who believes in courtesy and respect. I believed he would never let his wife come to meet me without calling first.

Alpha Jackson wouldn't even let her; the Alphas had not come to greet me and my mate.

It was an unspoken law that whenever an alpha finds a bride, the Alpha council is to go and congratulate the Alpha, and if they don't, the celebrating Alpha should not speak or help any of them.

That's by the way. Celine coming to visit me after so many years wasn't adding up, and I didn't know why her mate, Alpha Jackson, wasn't picking up.

There was nothing more that forced me to call him apart from the evident discomfort Celine's presence had caused Ashley.
