Red.

"You're the most callous person I've ever met!" I yelled. "It's not like you're a saint either, Siren." "Red," I correct him. Right when I thought he was inhuman, there was twinkle in his eye when I said this. Ever since the disappearance of his now non existing significant 'other. Nothing else mattered to him. So he thought at least. He was the monster in his favorite song, the repulsive one, he was the nostalgic, rare breed, that adored the smell of gasoline. She, oh she was the Siren. The exquisite in all man's eyes. She was known as the ray of danger... but she truly was a ray of sunshine. She, solemnly wanting a better future for herself. He, doing what he did best. He killed with no remorse. He lived for blood and pain And I just hoped I wasn't his next victim. What happens when a tornado and a volcano meet again? Find out

NADIA EVENS

I woke up with the sweet sound of my mother's voice. And by that I mean she shouted my name from downstairs so loud, I'm sure the neighbors could hear.

Waking up this early in the morning only meant two things. Either it was Sunday, meaning I was going to church. Or I was going to school.

And unfortunately for me, it was the second one.

To make matters worse, it was my first day. At a new school. Before I could even sulk in my own bubble of laziness and dreadfullness, my bedroom door was opened.

"Hey, what if I was naked?" I gasp, glaring at my taller brother. Meet __ , my douche of a brother. He was 3 years older than me , though he acted like he was 30.

Which was the only reason why I even liked my brother.

He was way too matured for his age. Although sometimes, he acted like a typical 19 year old boy. He finished high school and right now, as we're speaking his supposed to be in college but his not. "Well, wash yourself and get dressed for school," He rolls eyes like he had just said the most obvious thing.

"Okay dad," I mirror his actions. I climb out of my bed, my covered feet make contact with the brown wooden floor. "Eww you still sleep with socks?" He scrunches up his face. "I forgot to take them off," I say taking them off quickly just to throw them at him. That leads to him throwing a teddy at me and I throw a basketball at him but he ducks just in time- instead of catching it. a?And then a teeny tiny little mistake happens...

The basketball connects with the mirror and there, I see myself through a broken mirror.

Oh flip.

Mom is going to-

"NADIA!"

As I walked to the bustop, with my knee high length black socks, and a matching skirt, black heel boots and a fluffy blue long sleeve crop top.

"Ayo Red," I hear. I turn my head, smiling at Ms Jackson's grandson."Morning love, " She smiles when her eyes meet mine. I wave back at her and keep walking. My eyes travel along the neighborhood and that's when I reach near the bakery.

I inhale the sweet scent of everything that was inside of there and made a mental note to get something sweet today. Though I didn't even have to because every morning, Ms Robinson always gave me something because I was her favorite customer according to her .

"Bitch," I heard someone snicker.

"Look at her," I heard a sadistic laugh. "The wannabe white bitch,"

I clench my jaw, trying my best to keep my cool. My grip hardened on the strap of my bag as I tried to do so. I walk closer to the bus stop, hoping and praying the bus would show up in a few seconds because I was about to lose it.

"I wonder what her father was doing in our streets when he had her. He probably regrets her,"

And this, made me turn around.

"What did you say?"

"Ayo Red, you good?" I hear a familiar voice and I turn to see a gingerhead. "I'm always good Alana , I just heard a couple of pepper mouths talking about me now they're too afraid to even look me in the damn eye but y'all were so confident talking behind my back,"

"Oh I'm not afraid of you sweetheart," A familiar face. I can say right to your face that your pink ass shaded father-" My fist connects with her face before she could even finish her sentence.

"Y'all, Shea just got punched by Red," I heard someone say and soon yelled whole neighborhood was out. I didn't like this because the word easily got to my family and by that I meant the word would go to my brother specifically and my mother.

My dad wouldn't mind because he was the one who taught me how to defend myself and that I hold never tolerate disrespect and Today was just one of those days.

But lord would I hear it from my mother.

Oh and my brother? Would force me to listen to his oriole lecture. But I didn't care at this moment .

"Did you say something Shea?" I bend down to her level. She was still on the floor, providing extra warmth using her palm on her jaw. "That's what I thought,"

"Bitch," I spat and walked off.
