New emotions

Walking over to the dead guards he sketches them for anything useful, finding a standard-issue military knife on one of them he continues to loot them, eventually, he has a proper pair of boots and a belt that he'd spots for several different tools, such as a radio, the knife, and a handgun along with two spare magazines.

Grabbing one of the guard's handguns he collected the bullets from the other two before reloading the gun and two spare magazines and putting them in his new belt, he kept his red long-sleeve shirt and jeans though as he preferred them over the military uniform. Standing up, knife in hand, he continued down the hall before reaching a dead end, there was a large metal door, and he couldn't just turn back as his room was the last one at the other end of the hall, past that was just a brick wall so this door was the only way to progress.

Looking at the door was similar to the ones that lined the hall, the only difference was that this one had a glass pane on it to see through. Looking through the glass he saw a middle-aged woman surrounded by two guards, both armed with machine guns.

Tapping on the glass the woman turned her head towards him, seemingly surprised to see his face, seeing that he got her attention he pointed down to the door handle, signaling to open it. Seeing this she turned toward the guards before asking them something, but Alan couldn't hear them through the door.

After talking for a while one of the guards looked toward the door before taking out his radio and talking into it, surprisingly Alan heard the guard's voice from the radio he took the radio, "Attack team, are you there? Why did you send one of the test subjects to us? What's the situation?"

Picking up his own radio Alan pressed the button on the side and spoke to it, his voice surprisingly smooth for someone who had not talked in the last 10 years. "people dead, green things dead, hole gone, I'm not dead, open door. please."

Hearing this, both guards had a look of surprise and concern on their faces before talking into the radio once again, "The other ones that looked like us, what about them?" "dead." "what about the others that don't look like us?" "dead."

After a long pause, the guard spoke again, "Are you the last one alive?" "Yes." hearing this the guards spoke to each other for a while before finally talking to Alan again, "We will open the door, but only after you tell us what the number on your door is, like 3-4a or 2-5d." after a short pause Alan spoke "1-1a."

After hearing this the woman looked down at the computer at her desk and typed something into it. After about five minutes of a mix of looking and talking to the guards, they finally spoke to him again. "are you sure it said 1-1a?"

"yes." "alright, we will open the door but we are going to have to handcuff you for safety reasons. Once you've been handcuffed we'll bring you over to a holding room with the others who survived from the other areas, it's a bit hectic outside so if you hear loud noises when you're inside the holding room, don't try to escape."

30 minutes later Alan was sitting in a small cafeteria with three other people all in white clothes, the reason why he hadn't tried to escape was that, for all intents and purposes, he was just a normal human. Don't get it wrong he was near the peak of fitness in all forms for his body but against trained guards armed with fully automatic guns. he stood no chance, especially after they took his knife and gun.

And while he did not care much for his own life, if he died there he wouldn't be able to feel more emotions later, like the curiosity he felt when he realized that, what happened to him wasn't an isolated incident, Supposedly a total of five World breaches have opened in the building alone.

And while the other four had been closed, he was the only 'test subject' that had closed one and gotten a true bloodstone. The other five were closed by the guards and the blood stones were brought in for research to see what this 'essence' was after they were given the basic information by the stone as it seemed like every stone would give out the same information to anyone who touched one for the first time.

At the back of the cafeteria was a fire exit that had been barricaded by several tables and chairs to keep whatever was on the outside, outside. To the left was the serving area that was also barricaded to keep him and the others from eating all the food. The right was just a wall, and on the last side was the normal exit which was blocked by four heavily armed guards.

The three other people were the 'anomalies' of each area that got attacked, the fourth died during the attack. Each area had one anomaly, they were called that because their trait was outside of normal explanation, such as Alan's perfect harmony which defied all known rules of human biology.

The first of the other three was a meek kid around 8 named Husten whose trait was 'foresight' which allowed him to 'feel' the situation he was in. As he explained, being 'safe' felt like being wrapped in a warm blanket, and 'in danger' felt like a content cold breeze. The other 'feelings' such as 'opportunity', 'disadvantage', and 'unknown' were a bit harder to explain for him though apparently, he was short and had brown hair, other than that he was wearing a black blindfold and tended to talk like he was two people, the other 'person' was Kile.

The second person was a tall boy who looked around Alan's age with short blond hair named Jason who was, for lack of better words, a Chuuni prick with a severe superiority complex with delusions of grandeur. as he believed he was the 'main character' and 'was destined to defeat the demon king', his trait 'protagonist' didn't help, as it would 'save' him whenever he was in a dangerous situation and would end up turning said dangerous or life-threatening situation into an opportunity, plot armor as he called it.

He had learned what those things were thanks to the third person, a woman about Alan's height named Abigale who had long black hair and was a couple of years older than him at 18 years old, her trait was 'decay' which would slowly degrade and eventually destroy anything her skin touched depending on how long she was in contact with it.

Out of the three of them, she was the only one who he was interested in as she was also the only one who sparked an emotion in him, he was simply indifferent to the other two, He did not know what emotion it was though.

When he killed the guards and goblins, he felt a rush and a slight jitter as he did it, when he learned that there were more 'anomalies' than just him, he felt a gnawing at the back of his mind to know more. But when he saw her, he felt a strange tugging inside of him like a string was pulling him towards her, when he talked to her he felt a rush and jitter, but different to the first one, and when she told him things about her self he felt the same gnawing to know more about her.

These three new emotions seemed to meld together whenever he was close to her and just got stronger the longer he was near her. All this led to an obsession with her that started to grow inside him, it was like an addiction. The stronger the obsession grew, the more he wanted her to himself. Whenever he saw Jason talk to her he felt like he was trying to take her from him and a cold and empty feeling formed in his heart that would only leave when he left and Abigail was all his again.

And whenever Jason tried to talk to him he felt a boiling feeling start to build up in him that made him want to kill Jason, that and the cold feeling he got whenever Jason took Abigail away from him led to a sour and rotten feeling when even he saw Jason that would only feed the boiling feeling. Both of these feelings would only lessen when he got to talk to Abigail alone again.

"so as I was saying, when we didn't cause trouble we would be allowed to have something from the outside, I mostly chose books, but once chose a cute teddy bear." as Abigail said this she raised a brown teddy bear that she would a lease carry with her. The reason it didn't decay was the specially made-rubber gloves she was wearing.

"you were given things?" Abigail tilted he read to the side hearing Alan's question, "Yeah, you weren't? Earlier you mentioned you had books that you got to read and an I'm that you got to train in, and the clothes you wearing are red and not white. They had to of really liked you if you got all that stuff."

It was Alan's turn to tilt his head to the side this time "If I didn't read a full book or train in the gym for at least 8 hours a day I didn't get dinner and had to take an extra needle a day for a week, and I was et given these cloths, their red from blood." Abigail's how dropped for a moment as she processed what she just heard, "You were forced to train every day? And read a full book? And what the hell is about the needles and no food? I take back what I said, they must hate you. That sucks."
