The war was won but she knew it was only the beginning. However, she had gotten herself into it and it was all so exciting. Olivia had to stop Eliza from pinching herself over and over. It was also embarrassing for her to hear the soldiers praising her every time she went by.
She sent a silent prayer to God, thanking him for helping her win the battles and hoping she would win the ones to come.
"How are the plans coming, general?"
"Very well your highness. The gates are being rebuilt and fortified like you asked and the fort is coming nicely. We have also sent scouts and cartographers to map out the territories ahead of us. We would reclaim the land of the fallen kingdoms like you requested"
"Wow, you're all so competent. Keep up the good work"
"We will. It is all thanks to her highness"
"It's nothing, really. That reminds me, what about the imprisoned commander?"
"He is still being held. Your father refused to have him released even after his sentence was up"
"Okay. Execute him in front of the whole army"
"W....what?"
"You heard me, kill him. It's not a matter of pride or anything. He's a human spy. He's the reason why the werewolves have been losing their recent battles. Have him executed for espionage charges"
"You don't want us to interrogate him first?"
"No. Trust me on this"
"I will"
Olivia left the general and went in search of her father. As to why she's sure the man was a spy? It was simple. For one, the werewolves had almost no strategies and their main forces were concentrated at the border. They were basically defenseless.
Two, she was once human. Werewolves behaved differently from humans, down to their basic behaviors. As a keen observer, she saw right through him and concluded. Of course, she may be wrong if it wasn't for her last point.
The commander of the human army was severely interrogated by her father and he confessed they had a human spy in the upper echelon of the werewolf army. The both of them were to be executed together.
Honestly, if she hadn't reincarnated when she did, the werewolf empire would've perished a few days ago and the werewolf race would've been exterminated. It was too coincidental.
Well, she had better things to do.
"Father, why are you out here?"
"I'm overseeing the construction of the new weapons and the new fort. We raided the camp just like you said and what we found would be enough for us to go through the winter"
"That's nice"
"Yeah and it's all thanks to you. That's why I'm naming the new fort, Fort Olivia"
"w...what?"
"Yes daughter. You deserve it. It would not be like any we've seen before. It would be unique, like you. Well, with the plans you had the architects draw, it would surely be"
"Yeah. Father, can I ask you something?"
"Go ahead darling"
"Won't you ask me where I got all this knowledge from?"
"No"
"Uhn?"
"Few hours before you woke up, I prayed for a miracle. Now, we no longer have to fear being exterminated by humans. I'm not one to question a miracle from God. I just accept it as it is"
"Is that so?"
Her thoughts were something like;
I knew it. This father of mine has air in his head. However flawed his reason might be, it saves me the trouble. I'm glad. I feel so safe with him.
"Thank you Father, for believing in me" she said, hugging him. He hugged her tightly in return.
"You're welcome, my treasure"
