Chapter 4: Power

As he continued to wander around, Z heard roars and thugs. He decided to move away from where the sound was coming from as he was sure that there were beasts there.

After a while of walking, two different ear deafening roars reached his ears. 'What the hell was that?' he thought. He grew curious as no more roars or thugs followed those. After careful consideration, he decided to change his course and go to where the sound came from. He deemed that the sound came from two beasts fighting and the dying of the sound may be due to their death.

As he got closer, he saw two gigantic carcasses both were about 5 to 6 meters long. It was enormous yet still appears small in contrast to the towering trees that make up the forest.

Since he entered the forest, half a day had already passed. Light is only visible to less than half of the forest making it dark.

"Perfect! I am hungry." His goal is to find dead beasts that he can cook.

In terms of butchery, most of the work had already been done for him since both carcasses were torn to shreds courtesy of them killing each other - at least that's what he thought.

Soon he opened the body of one of the beasts, revealing its internal organs. There he saw a green orb with a size a little larger than his head.

"What is this?" As he picked it up. He noticed that it was emitting a yellow glow and energy seeps from it trying to enter his body. He tried to absorb the energy, giving him a cool and gentle feel. Feeling the comfort, he decided to continue the absorption. Amidst his immersion, pain started to fill stomach. Upon checking, he learned that the energy that was coming through the orb is being condensed to a little red ball in the area near his stomach. He felt light and strong, and relieved of all the stress he gained through running. He felt rejuvenated.

With that, he continued absorbing the energy from the orb till it lost its glow. Afterwards, the small orb in his belly solidified, emitting a faint light red glow.

He then tried to punch the tree near him to test the strength he currently possesses. "Ouch! What the hell?" as he feel the rebound from punching the tree in full force. His hand almost broke. "Damn, what is this small orb fo--what?" as he notice the energy coming from the small orb seep through his injured hand, seemingly healing it. "Oh, I am an idiot" after realizing that he needed to mobilize the energy, he tried again with his other hand. He moved the energy from his orb to his arm and then struck the tree. A small dent could be seen at the trunk of the tree, and no rebound was felt Z, this time.

"Wow!" he exclaimed in excitement.

Amazed by the result, he opened up the other carcass to look for another orb. As he expected, there was an orb inside it. It was also emitting a faint yellow color. He absorbed the energy from it, causing the orb in his body to have a stronger glow of light red.
