Urial's VR (?) adventure I

Author review; This Novel is a renewed version of 'Urial's fun reincarnation tale' with a more steadfast idea on what it actually is, though I may have been a little absorbed into making the 'Nine kings' a thing, and forgot that the MC was also a part of it... So ten kings within the 'Nine kings'!

Multiple pov which let me making multiple stories that I kind-of liked, pretty disconnected, but I really liked the alchemy in this one though.

I think this was after I tried to really put in some characterization and backstory into the naration naturally, and a bit of prose forced in too.

=====

I stood at the edge of the sea from a high cliff face, with a woman behind me, and a giant mountain even further behind.

"Sir," The woman said, clothed in a white gown "Though I feel regret, I must go. The church needs a me."

"I cannot go with you on your death-seeking voyage."

I sighed with my wrinkled and middle-aged visage "Liz, you may think my journey is like dancing with death, but I plead for progress, to go beyond the level I am stuck at. And to stand right before the line between life and death, that is what I must do for my goal."

I turned my head 75 degrees "And; What the church needs after the recent scandal is not a pope, but a saint. They need to regain the people's trust, and the pope class is not made for that.

The pope is there to spread the voice of god, not to please the people.

We are to go to another continent, where your god, Altera, does not have her pawns. Such conditions are where a pope was meant to be."

'Liz' shook her head "But I must take the place of the saint, as the current saint refuses to do his duty."

"Who's the current saint?" I asked.

"Ferald Vuram."

I didn't know him, while I had memorized the names of anyone of any threat at all, so the response and advice was obvious "He refused to listen to Altera's commands, and as such he was removed from his post. Or; Sadly, someone assasinated the saint, for some reason. Here's the new saint."

"Choose one of the two, they'd both work."

'Liz' was going to respond, but from behind her man called out "Boss! Team alpha has stabilized the reciever!"

Just as predicted, I slowly smiled as I walked past her. I stopped for a moment, with my back towards her back "Don't worry, the voyage shall not happen for some time. If you truely worry for my death, then make sure to wave me goodbye as I disembark."

I left her to her thoughts, I did not need her blessings on this particular excursion. A place that none have explored, at least not to the level I plan to. The 'Sky anchor'.

The one of the largest mountains of the continent, at the edge of the continent at the north. None have ever reached it's peak.

There is also the 'Moon anchor' and the 'Sun anchor', but... Those aren't here.

I calmly walked as I sensed intense ripples in the space, even if you didn't have practice or a skill to do it for you, you could tell from the newbies walking around in camp. They were disoriented the closer you got to the distortion.

I could supress it, but I use it as an excuse not to haze new members the traditional way.

At the center of the camp that we currently call 'Home base', hundreds of artifacts were working in harmony to connect space with a reciever above the clouds.

I quickly got the leader of this project to give me a report "Sir, I've done my best to follow your blueprints. Currently, our space anchors are dealing with the distortions at an adequate level, the void calls are currently at a level of 8.7."

"Any troublesome Void thralls?"

"No, sir. Though there is a SS-rank regenerator, class; half-king." The project manager said.

I thought for a few seconds "Which one, specifically."

"A Vartivsk."

"Then this won't be too difficult." This being was not too difficult to slay, though it is a rank higher than normal "Take a portable hole, and put it on the creature. Then make a conection with that portable hole with a portable material transport 27B."

The project leader started to take notes.

"Then, throw through that 'Portal-2-3-78', a Stone-bomb from a mixture of 2 'Astral jelly, 4-3-alpha-A', 1 'Astral jelly, 1-23-Omega-YS', 4 'Impact tabrol, 6-0-Gamma-U', and then 7 'Solidity shaphir, 92-623-Phi-IBKS'."

The project manager used a spell to take a look into one of the library artifacts of the clan, researching what exactly to do.

He quickly nodded "I'll get it done sir." As he said that, he walked away while contacting others with his magic.

I, on the other hand, started to examine the portal. The primer artifact, 'Artifact_primer 7-subsection 9', wasn't doing it's job correctly. The frequency of the space interferance had a little too much energy within it, and the decay range was about 0.23cm too big.

It took a few minutes of tuning, though it was simple enough mana flow manipulation to watch what was happening on that Vartisvik.

I quickly took out an artifact from my personal storage artifact, and tuned it to the mixed '{Astral}' and '{Void}' magic signal, at a ratio of 6;29, with a strength of 93.1 units.

The artifact suddenly projected a screen of three SS-rank taking out an artifact of 76% gold and 12% silver with 19 crystaline objects inserted into it.

it was a mirror like artifact, and they had just activated it, causing the reflective part to become dark and as if a portal to nothingness.

Then I zoomed out, showing the void like place they were fighting at, and the floating, bug-like creature that was currently addorned by a black patch.

Another SS-rank hopped into this dark realm with an artifact of my actual personal design, very proud of that one "Stone-bomb ready!"

The new SS-rank threw the mystical orb that looked like the night sky with 14 crytaline objects inserted into it at the original SS-ranks.

One of the originals caught it and called "1, 2, 3- magic-eh!"

Hearing this, the one who was halting the void thrall suddenly rushed backwards, as the stone-bomb appeared from the now shining portable hole.

The stone-bomb also shined, but in a more ominous, deep-red/astral light.

The moment it exploded, around it, all things became slightly more 'Real'. Then the void started to compress as the creature started to fall into the 'Deeper' reaches of the void, with dark limbs reaching for it.

Quickly, as if this happened on a daily basis, the adventurers quickly used an artifact of a different origin than the one they used to enter.

Quickly, the reaches of the void started to fold over them, after which they appeared back in reality about a kilometer away from where they entered, no longer next to each other.

The project manager returned a few moments after that "Sir, the zone has been decontaminated."

I smiled slightly as I took a single, specially cut crystaline object, a magic stone. And inserted it into the only open socket on the portal platform.

I then quickly poured in mana and activated the 'Lesser artifact array', and quickly, space started to fold and tear above the platform. Slowly, reality was torn asunder, and you could peere through as to gaze apon the 'Other side of the Looking glass' for a small moment.

Until the portal stabilized, and honed on the reciever. Now, when you looked through the portal, you saw a platform with many people infront of it, behind, many floating islands.

"Report." I said with a more scaving tone, as I needed a good amount of authority to force these SSS-ranks to follow my commands, especially the MAX-rank that I personally cultivated.

There aren't any problems, but being a push-over to them wouldn't do any good.

"Current Area is SSS-rank max, next area is MAX-rank max, unknown if there is another area."

I couldn't help but smile, there might be a Z-rank monster in the third area, if there is a third one.

I quickly stepped through the portal, and now stood up far beyond 3 layers of cloud, somehow.

Now, let's skip until the Z-rank monster, because the inbetween would mean literally nothing to the reader right now. Except maybe fleshing out how skills work, but that happens with the Z-rank anyways.

So...

I jumped atop the highest, and grandest floating island, using a duodecuple-cell. Some of the skills include; <Great leap>, <Astral leap>, <Supreme Launch>, and <Scorching Jump Slash>.

After which I took out an artifact, put it down, activated it, and let the adventurers below activate their transmitter.

Quickly the two part portable portal activated, and one-by-one, they slowly passed through. After which the transmitter was brought through too, de-activating the portal with it.

As like all the hundreds of times previously, after we could no longer scale the mountain, since the middle of the 2nd area.

I quickly paused, and chanted skill names, although the chance of me doing this wrong was extremely miniscule, it was just to be safe, as even I am not completely certain in a trevigintuple-cell.

"<Astral veil>, <Void veil>, <Abyssal veil>, <Infernal veil>, <Divine veil>, <Eldritch veil>..."

[Skills merge (Astral veil, ect.) = <Veil of the old ones (Partial)>]

A veil of darkness, light, death, and many other things slowly covered me. I quickly looked at it to make sure it hadn't weakened since last time.

=======

<Veil of the old ones (Partial)>;

The veil that obscures vision of the ones above.

Effects; Decreases presence of user, decreases visability of user.

=======

Then I used another cell "<Divine eye>, <Mana sense>, <Void sight>, <Astral vision>, <Spacial sense>..."

[Skills merge (Divine eye, ect.) = <God's viewpoint (Partial)>]

I felt as if I was able to change from where I was looking while not doing anything.

=======

<God's viewpoint (Partial)>;

See where you are not.

Effects; Allows user to see where they are not, within a 3km radium.

=======

Nothing really changed, honestly forgot their discriptions are extremely vague. I haven't really used these combination skills for a while.

Though they seemed to be the same, I'm still cautious. Reasons being obvious, I find no need to explain them.

I quickly scouted out with <God's viewpoint (Partial)>, the surrounding landscape whas very rocky, and it seemed the island was far larger than previously believed, as I couldn't see the end of the other side.

But, I did see a place, the highest point of the many, many mountains which was close enough to me to make a portal to.

I quickly took out a storage artifact from my personal storage space, and took out 13 artifacts that I hastily fine-tuned to teleport to the point that I mentioned before.

I quickly used <Astral veil> and an extra artifact to hide the void calls, and then added on two space anchor artifacts to conteract the spacial distortions.

I then took a trigger artifact to activate it.

Quickly, space started to be morphed into a deep, deep pit, enough to be considered a worm hole.

As usual, the adventurers went through the portal first, then I activated the retrieval protocol, and jumped through too.

On the other side, after a few seconds, the artifact array appeared out of the portal after I left it too.

Then I used <God's perspective (Partial)> again to look for a suitable place to portal to.

Then the loop begun, which was ; Look for a suitable place, tune the array and hide it, adventurers jump through, then I jump through after activating the retrieval protocol.

Until the near peak of the island's biggest mountain was found, where I stopped after the newest layer of clouds, which somehow was a thing now. I hadn't seen it until entering half-way to the 3rd area, which was strange, since I saw the night sky before.

Now, the question was; will I delay the voyage for this?

I had honestly taken more than a month for this journey, and I had yet to face a Z-rank. But I had fought against at least a few close-peak MAX-ranks, though Max-rank isn't an actually official rank.

After some deliberation I concluded that getting back to this point would be far easier if it was my ultimate goal, instead of manufacturing another boat for the voyage.

I would leave after quickly taking a look at the 4th area- or, layer.

After I set up a permanent portal channel to retreat through if shit hits the fan.
