Magitech

With the details of his role in the lab thoroughly discussed, Mage Laraz posed one final question to Seth. "Are you prepared to undertake this task?"

Seth met the mage's gaze with determination. "I am ready," he affirmed.

Laraz produced a contract paper, and as Seth read through the no-disclosure agreement, he understood the gravity of the work he was about to undertake. As he signed his name, the magical contract burst into flames, marking the initiation of their binding agreement. He was then handed a book that outlined the project's background and direction. He was given two days to master its contents. Two days later and back in the same lab, now occupied by three other individuals, a year or two older than him. A male and two females, their faces showing a myriad of emotions and thoughts. The male the only other mid-grade apprentice in the room, named Kael, possessed a rugged charm with messy brown hair and a perpetually restrained expression. The first female, Elysia, was striking, her long silver hair a stark contrast to her deep green eyes that held a spark of mischief and with that the pressure of a High-grade apprentice. The second female, Leona, projected an air of elegance with her refined features and red curls which was further reinforced by the aura of a high-grade apprentice radiation of him . As they settled in, still adjusting to the presence of one another, Mage Laraz materialized before them. "Have you all read through the provided information?" he inquired, his gaze sweeping over each assistant.

Elysia nodded enthusiastically, her eyes gleaming. "Absolutely, I've gone through it thoroughly."

Leona offered a polite smile. "Yes, I've reviewed the material as well."

Kael hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, I've had a look."

Laraz's eyes settled on Seth. "And you, Seth?"

Seth met the mage's gaze directly. "I did."

Laraz seemed satisfied with their responses and proceeded to engage them in a round of questions, probing their understanding of the material. After the questioning ended, Laraz conjured a device called a Force Engine, explaining its purpose. A combination of energy and directed glyphs, the force array had the potential to replace mana crystals in powering devices. Seth absorbed the information, his mind working to grasp the intricacies.

"However," Laraz continued, his tone contemplative, "the current issue lies in the force output. It falls short in comparison to devices powered by mana crystals. Moreover, the rapid wear and tear of materials makes its long-term sustainability questionable. Once solved it could potentially be the breakthrough needed to propel it to success."

For the rest of the day, the assistants copied the arrays onto silver plates, while Seth and the others brought materials for Laraz's experiments and cleaned up after each trial. As night descended, Seth found himself once more in the research space. His face buried up in a book titled "Magitech For Dummies " and began to read, his brows furrowing at the complexities it presented. While the title might sound simplistic, the contents delved into arcane intricacies that baffled even the most experienced alchemists, truly a book worthy of it author the Mad Mage himself.

Putting the book aside, Seth contemplated the research space once more. His gaze shifted to the silver plates, arrayed with intricate glyphs. Each symbol held purpose and potential, waiting to be unlocked. As he scrutinized the array's structure, his thoughts drifted to an array segment called electrum, in the late chapter of Magitech for dummies. The concept both confounded and intrigued him, and then realization struck. Theoretically, this segment could be integrated into the force array, potentially enhancing its stability and performance. The idea had been posited by the legendary Mad Mage himself, however it remained untested just theory. Seth dove back to the book and reread the part detailing the segment but as he thoughts, so the segment remained one of the theoretical array segments in the book . Seth pondered the unfulfilled potential, wondering why such a marvel of an idea was left unattended by his predecessor. With determination, he began to experiment, but incorporating the electrum segment was no small feat. Days melded into nights as Seth delved into the intricacies of the array, working to weave the new concept into the existing structure.
