Xia family mansion
Xia Liena spent her waiting time on hearing her friends/team soldiers talking about her 'Jerk of an ex-boyfriend to be'. In response, she sat there smiling and sometimes commenting.
Just like that, the long waiting time went in a blink. Soon, it was time for them to board their flights. It was just a little more than an hour and a half flight to City Y but for Xia Liena, it felt like a whole day. She was anxious about meeting her family today. Xia Liena reborn during her short trip to Pakistan which means this was going to be her first interaction with her family after her rebirth.
In her last life, she witnessed losing her entire family because of some wrecked schemes. She failed in her duty as the true Clan leader. But this time, she was determined to change it in this life. As someone who has gone through the pain of being the reason of her family's downfall, she was hell set on being one of the reason of her family's happiness. And since she decided on it, she will finish it.
After what felt like ages, the plane finally landed. Xia Liena quickly made her way through the airport corridors to the place where her rest of the team told that they are waiting.
Soon the seven of them saw three men and two woman standing proudly amidst the crowd. Jiang Xiaoyu's eyes lit up the moment he saw his brother. He ran towards Jiang Wuque like a kid who just saw his favourite candy and threw himself onto him for which Jiang Wuque responded with a fake gagging sound.
Xia Liena also followed after him to their spot without running like him.
"Good to see you brothers." Bai Lanxin greeted with her cheery attitude.
"Before you get carried away with the greetings. Let's head out first. It's not appropriate to behave like this in a military combat uniform. Plus I have an announcement." Xia Liena poured an freezing cold water on all the people's excited greetings just like that. What a mood killer.
The 12 quickly went outside of the airport to the area where someone will pick them up. And when they went there, there were already a tour bus waiting for them like they were some celebrities. Well, they were better. They protect the country and citizens while the people in the industry entertain the people.
As soon as they got seated, Xia Liena began her so-called speech.
"Comrades, I have a really big announcement to make. I realised how much of a spoilsport I was-" She was rudely cut off by the one and only Mu Chen.
"You just realised it now. Now, I seriously want to question your IQ and EQ." Mu Chen thought that he was muttering it to himself but unfortunately for him, it was heard by everyone in the group. The group who had undeniable seriousness when Xia Liena began speaking, now gave a glance of pity in his way.
"Well Mr Mu, if you haven't noticed, My IQ is way higher than yours. Anyways, back to what I was talking about. I wanted to spend time with my family a bit more and I also realised how much I was selfish to make you work with me despite some people here wanting to have some personal fun time with friends and family. At the same time, I wanted to take my Clan leader position seriously now. So, I am going to chance the Team's rule slightly. Our team is the number one team in the whole country. We have similar training plan of the US Navy SEALs. Or maybe even harder. So, I think that we don't really have to take the job that can be done by other soldiers. So from today, Team Alpha will only take the tough missions. And you, my personal team, will take the toughest mission. Any doubts?" Xia Liena finished her not so short speech.
Most of them were probably very dumbfounded in their new rule that they forgot how to react. Only Jin Liwei was composed.
"Are we going to meet up to train or hangout even? And you are not going to give up the military anytime, will you?" Jin Liwei asked.
"Yes, we will train on weekends. Regular place. And no, I don't plan on leaving military. Why would I retire when I have my best friends/brothers on the battlefield. Comrades for life, remember?" Xia Liena would never leave the military. She loved the thrill that comes with being in the battlefield. She didn't want to give up the life that saves the life of an entire nation again.
"That's good." Gu Aining managed to squeeze out some words despite her still shocked expression.
"Whatever. Please drop me off in the Xia family mansion." Xia Liena requested the driver.
The rest of the journey went by the others asking if Xia Liena accidentally hit her head too hard and the six explaining the Pakistan adventure word by word like a tape recorder.
After about half an hour, she finally made it to the Xia Family Mansion. Xia Liena slowly got off fearing and imagining the worst scenarios possible. She quickly said her goodbyes to her team and went to the entrance. And as soon as she went there, she saw the security guards saluting for her. They quickly came with the vehicle, so that they can get her into the mansion. The mansion was atleast 10 minutes away from the entrance. So they had to take any vehicle inside. And not any vehicle can go in.
As expected, after 10 minutes, she finally reached the mansion. Standing proudly in front of her was a huge mansion that was neither old nor modern. It was grand.
She went to the door and forced herself to calm down. She was acting like she was getting ready to get slaughtered. Before she could even open the door, the butler opened with a wide grin on his face. With her newfound courage she managed to gather up in her way, she proudly went inside the mansion to the Living room.
Her grandparents were sitting there proudly. Her grandfather with his aura of an experienced soldier in a very high position that demands respect. A suffocating dominance and authority. And her grandmother with her 'don't mess with me' aura. All her mustered courage flew away just like that. She can practically see her courage growing wings and flying like a scared puppy.
"Grandpa. Grandma." She greeted them politely.
"A General. I am proud of you." Her grandfather slightly eased up his aura after seeing her in her Combat uniform.
"I got promoted 3 months ago before I was sent away for some important missions." Xia Liena finally managed to get into the role of Team Alpha's leader, General Xia Liena aka A1.
"I heard about it. So, when are you leaving?" Her grandfather asked, mentally preparing for the worst.
"I am not leaving any time soon. I am the current leader and I need to be here. Moreover, my team's the best of the best. So, we decided to take the toughest mission only." Xia Liena explained herself. After her grandfather heard it, his expression rippled for a split second. Others wouldn't have noticed it but if Xia Liena couldn't notice it, she would not have become a General at such young age of 22.
"Alright. Remember your words. Now, go change your clothes. We have something to say to you." Her grandfather shooed her away. On the other hand, her grandmother was giving her famous silent treatment. Well, it will not last long anyway.
