Adrienne didn't take long to find Myrtle, much to her relief. She didn't think she could socialize with others now as the past few days had been quite taxing. She greeted Myrtle's mother before taking her best friend away. She was relieved not to see Alistair anywhere, and Adrienne didn't trust she could keep her composure in his presence.
"What took you so long, Addie? I thought you'd never show up!" Myrtle complained but hooked her arms with Adrienne's, leading her to where no one could eavesdrop on them. Hunter was following behind them.
"Something came up, plus, I need to give Aunt Camilla and Elise some false hope, don't I? Seeing their hopes crumble tonight will be the icing on the cake."
Adrienne would ruin all their plans since they regarded this banquet with utmost importance.
