Lewis then remembered the wandering monk who deemed this daughter of his as the 'star of calamity' for several years. Seeing her devious smile before him, Lewis thought he had spawned a devil with Rosemary Zhao. He should have discarded Adrienne the moment she was born had he known she would turn out like this. 

Adrienne chuckled. "Now, this is new, Mr. Jiang. You are willing to listen to what I have to say. How generous of you." Her voice dripped with sarcasm as she took pleasure in Lewis's desperation. She knew this was her moment to seize control and ensure the Jiang family's downfall. 

Lewis glared furiously at her. He knew he was in a tight position. 

Lewis finally found his voice. "Adrienne, I understand you're upset, but this is not how to handle it. We can talk about this privately."
