Raven went straight up to his room after returning home, curious to see what messages awaited him on his phone.
As he opened the group chat with Jacob and Evan, he noticed the flood of notifications that had accumulated.
Without thinking twice, Raven clicks on it out of sheer curiosity.
As Raven clicked on the group chat, he saw a flurry of messages from Jacob and Evan discussing their plans for a boys' night out.
They were suggesting various activities and venues, sharing their excitement for the upcoming evening.
Raven grinned as he read their messages, feeling a sense of camaraderie and anticipation building up.
As the conversation unfolded, he quickly typed a response and added a few ideas of his own to the mix.
The boys' night out would have been a memorable one, especially after what happened with the last group they were in.
Raven suggested going to an arcade, where they could compete in games and unleash their inner kids.
The idea received an enthusiastic response from Jacob and Evan, who were equally excited about the prospect of reliving their childhood memories.
They immediately started discussing their favourite arcade games and challenging each other to friendly competitions.
Raven couldn't help stealing glances at the ring he had purchased earlier as the day progressed.
He was filled with a blend of jittery nerves and elation at the thought of proposing to Mia.
He wondered how she would react to his proposal and hoped for a positive response.
As evening approached, the boys gathered at a popular arcade in town.
Raven caught sight of the pair in the distance and approached them, grinning.
"Yo, it seems like I'm late."
The two looked over and saw Raven walking towards them with a smile.
"Eh, we haven't been here long." Jacob said, grabbing his coat and bringing it closer to himself because of the wintry winds.
Raven nodded, and his eyes darted towards the brightly lit arcade.
He was aware that the arcade would be closed in two years due to poor business, so he decided to make this day unforgettable.
"Well, let's not waste time standing here and get going." Raven said, waving his hand while entering the building.
The two follow Raven and enter the building.
The vibrant lights and lively atmosphere greeted them as they stepped inside, instantly transporting them into a world of fun and nostalgia.
Raven walked up to the desk lady and bought 200 dollars' worth of tokens for him and the others.
The two said their thanks and started playing some games.
"Jeez Christ, Jacob, can you at least win once?" Evan asked, as he laughed at Jacobs' horrible skills.
Jacob on the side cheeks turn red and his hands clenched.
"It's not me! The game is rigged and designed to piss you off!"
Raven, on the side, who was casually nailing every game, stopped and walked towards Jacob.
"Let me try."
Jacob got from his seat and sat on the side.
Raven sat down where he sat and understood what type of game he was playing.
It was an auto screen shooter, which is the game that Raven hated when he came to the arcades.
'Vanessa, get a perfect score on this game.'
Some time later, Raven sat up and stretched out his arms, looking at the perfect score on the screen.
Jacob sat there, his eyes dull as he looked at Raven.
"See, Jacob? Just a skill issue." Evan said, patting his shoulder.
Just as the three were about to hop onto another game, a 27-year-old man came up to raven with excitement.
But when he saw Raven's full face, he took a deep breath and his eyes glowed even brighter.
"Are you Raven?" the man asked.
Raven froze and nodded, not knowing what he wanted.
"I recorded your perfect run and was wondering if I could upload it, but I didn't expect the person to be a famous gamer."
Raven was a little embarrassed when he heard "famous gamer," but he ignored it.
"Erm, you can upload the video if you wish."
Raven waved his two fingers in the air.
The man nodded and opened his mouth to say another thing.
"That… Can you sign this?"
The man pulled out a game collectable and even had a pen on him.
Why he had these things, Raven didn't question and sign it.
The man leaves happily, while Jacob looks at him with envy.
"Hey, don't look at me like that. I like girls, not men," Raven said, backing away from Jacob.
Jacob's face darkens and walks to the next game.
Raven smiled and fell into step behind the others.
As he was following behind, Raven's gaze shifted towards the rear of the arcade, and his eyes briefly flickered with interest.
"Mate, Y'all want to play some Lazer Tag?"
The two stopped and looked at the giant sign that said Lazer Tag and nodded.
Raven made a beeline to the Lazer Tag lineup without uttering a single word.
Jacob and Evan followed up behind.
As Raven looked through the lineup, he let out a heavy sigh and observed the people playing on the monitors.
It's been a long time since he played laser tag, and can't remember some games he played back then.
After a few minutes, the three finally reach the front of the line and enter the room.
The room was pitch black, and the only lighting came from the left and right side.
On the left side, blue lights illuminated the area, and on the right side, red lights provided a stark contrast.
Raven walked to the left with light steps and waited for the instructor to come out.
Raven didn't need to wait long, and the instructor came in shortly after.
The man looked like he was in his mid twenties.
He had curly blond hair and bright blue eyes.
Raven eyes flashed and thought.
'Wasn't this the guy who asked for my autograph?'
Even Jacob and Evan thought the same thing as Raven, and their eyes became strange.
