Reborn to be the strongest God

After Centuries of being the Demonlord, Gerar quits. Why must he torture men when it's no longer fun? Why must he conquer the world when there's nothing to gain from it? Why must he be the demon lord when there's nothing left to challenge? So, he decides to quit and just dies. But instead of being reborn as a weak demon or even a human, he gets reborn as an Angel and thus his journey to supreme godhood begins! . .. ... Hi, Yet here- So, this is a fantasy story but there are also sci-fi elements. There's a harem but Mc's not particularly into romance. This story is basically a culmination of the things I find interesting and hopefully, you guys will find it interesting too (It'll keep on evolving into different coherent stories as the volumes pile up). This'll also be my largest planned novel yet, so let's see how that turns out. I'll try to keep the updates regular and will release bonus chapters if I can. In return, I expect votes. Oh yeah, I do have a server. https://discord.gg/vnnbHCJ4Sn Thank you for reading; I wish you a good day.

He did not like it, no

Gerar's skills included auto-regeneration. It was the reason he was so feared. No matter how much you wound him, he'd just regenerate. In order to do substantial damage to him, you'd need a godly amount of holy weapon and magic. However even with his guard down and with all that, he couldn't be fatally wounded that easily. Besides, you'd need to crush his heart or even with his head cut off, he'd just regenerate another one.

Basically, he was unkillable… for the most part.

"Hey, Da- whatever. Is that holy sword real?" Gerar turned to the human, who was shaking with fear and confusion.

"Yes? The goddess of light gave-"

The holy sword of the goddess- blue blade, with a golden hilt- said to have been the strongest holy sword, the bane of all demons…

"Can you kill me?"

"Excuse me?"

It was unexpected. Who'd have thought that the master of hell, the king of underworld, the emperor of half the world and the Demon of Sin and Disaster, would ask a human to slay him?

"Huh?"

Daniel was thunderstruck and rightfully so. The two girls beside him were equally confused. To their views the demon king was supposed to be a ruthless, cruel, and evil dictator but here he was asking the hero to kill him.

What in the actual fu-

"Where'd all that 'I'd kill you' go?" Gerar pondered.

Ironically even Belihide was surprised. He thought his lord must have been jesting but Gerar did no such thing. Gerar was perfectly sane and serious.

Which only brought Belihide back to reality and thus- left his mouth hanging- "What the fuck did you just say?" He mumbled which Gerar promptly ignored.

"I-d, I'd-" Daniel's voice clogged off. Something got stuck in his throat and it probably wasn't spit.

He couldn't process the information anymore. His brain's input went beyond the manufacturer's limit. A little more push and he might have even gone back to his manufacturer just from the pressure alone.

Gerar sighed. "Empower! Dragon's heart! Windborn's might!"

Swirling golden rays covered the hero slowly returning color to his pale face.

The spells were for powering up his allies, but Gerar used them on the hero anyway.

"My-my strength!" Daniel looked around his body as he glowed in golden colors.

All stats doubled, no, quadrupled.

"Now then, why don't you try to come at me?"

Daniel's eyes sharpened and he picked up his sword. It was his perfect chance. 'I don't know what's he's aiming for but I won't lose to him'- or so he thought. He charged but with extreme caution, keeping every sense open. After all, who knew what the hell that demon as plotting-

But Gerar wasn't really thinking much at all. In reality Daniel was the one overthinking.

Aiming for Gerar he thrust his sword at the full force of his muscles. But even with holy element, his sword couldn't even scratch him, let alone pierce Gerar's armor.

Actually, it just floated just a millimeter away-

"Sigh* my lord, shouldn't you give up right-" Belihide found this a waste of time.

His lord was immortal and unkillable and had a job. Fooling around like this was a complete waste of time.

Besides-

"It can't be helped. I'm here forth relinquishing my armor to you, Belihide." His armor disappeared.

It wasn't just ordinary armor; it was known as the Eternal Night-Guard said to be as powerful as the night's protection.  In fact, nothing inside the throne room was ordinary. Even the spider web in the corner was special; in a way.

His bare skin now exposed. He was fair but not as fair as humans. His muscular build demanded the attention they deserved but they didn't get them as there wasn't anyone there besides them.

Actually-

The two girls almost squirmed as they saw the emperor of hell strip. Their hearts belonged to the hero, but their eyes and groins were saying something else entirely.

Even the hero had to admit… he couldn't hold a candle to those toned abs and biceps… 'damn-' he thought.

"Why don't you try that while you throw holy water on your blade and at me?" Gerar suggested, eyes closed.

Daniel obliged. He didn't care anymore. He knew the demon king was overpowered and he didn't have enough strength to take him down. So, although skeptical, this was the ideal chance for him; and yes, his common sense had long left him.

Daniel drank the sacred potion of Artia which empowered him further. The two girls behind him sang the prayer of Helin, the goddess of light increasing his holy might.

With an incredible advantage the hero launched his attack on Gerar and pierced his skin but even so, Daniel couldn't pierce his heart. Such was the strength of Gerar.

"Belihide, if you will," Gerar said.

Gerar's words were clear.

"Forgive me milord. But because you have sought this, I'll help you, even if it means ending your life with my own hands." Belihide's voice shook.

He walked slowly- questioning whether this was right but-

But he remembered the conversations he had with his lord.

All those regrets, all that anguish-

He knew-

He knew his lord.

And thus-

Belihide struck Gerar with his scimitar and that too didn't do enough damage to kill him.

"Give me that potion"

Daniel had two more bottles of that holy potion. But unlike Daniel who got strengthened by the potion, Gerar would certainly get poisoned by the holy water contained within the potion itself. Even so, he drank it in hopes of weakening himself further.

Just one sip and his insides burned, charred… yet- he stood there.

And-

Finally- Daniel's sword pierced his skin-

Just one more push-

"ALMIGHTLY XELON-" Daniel screamed. "YOUR BLESSING. MIGHT!!!"

Shing!

Straight through the heart.

The epic story of Gerar was about to come to a close. Daniel's victory would be sung for centuries to come. And history would mark Gerar as nothing more than another fallen dictator.

Thud- he fell on his stomach.

"We did it!" Daniel rejoiced.

Gerar threw up blood and Belihide fell on his knees unbelieving of what just happened. Belihide was devoted to Gerar and he just couldn't believe that he aided in his lord's ending.

How-

How could he call himself his loyal aide-

His… one and only friend…?

When he himself- assisted in the murder of his lord?

"Belihide, make Demonica great but let this war end with me. Let the humans return back to their homeland as a token of peace to show that we don't want any more war," Gerar coughed up blood.

"My lord…" Tears welled up in Belihide's eyes.

Demons never showed the emotion of sadness but the loss of Gerar was too great to Belihide. In fact, he was prepared to end his own life for such a treachery.

"I leave the rest to you," Gerar passed away. And his cold body disappeared into the darkness; devoured by the void. Not a trace left.

And so, the end of the legendary demon king finally occurred.

Quite ordinarily.

He just… died.

The humans were allowed to return home and Belihide made sure to ensure peace of the land according to his late master's wish.

'I would make Demonica great, Lord Gerar'- Belihide thought.

However this wasn't the end of Gerar. His soul didn't vanish. But instead of reincarnating in to a demon body in the future, he went up, very up and to a place that was more hellish than hell itself.

***

"He's going to be a great savior."

The words echoed in the small room… full of divine light.

"Isn't he the cutest?"

Those words were the first he heard after reincarnation. Although he didn't remember his memories as a demon, he was still the same person, the same emperor.

'Cute? Who dares say that? Why is it so bright here?'

He could understand words but he couldn't move, let alone talk.

It was bright and he couldn't see. But it was no ordinary place and he was no ordinary baby. The term extraordinary might be effective here.

Instead of crimson light, there were purified holy rays, instead of the blood iron smell, there was the smell of flowers and instead of screams there was laughter.

Utterly- horrible…

Terrible.

He was… in heaven.

  'Am I an… angel?'

'Holy… fuck…'

He didn't know why but-

He did not like it-

No.
