Chapter 48

Evander entered Florence's room and felt her forehead with his hand, which was indeed very hot.

He called Hank on the phone and explained the situation with Florence.

"Dad, what's wrong with mom? Is she running a fever?" Lily asked.

"Well, she has a fever," Evander replied.

"How did mom get a fever?" Lily asked.

"We won't know until the doctor arrives."

Evander probably knew why Florence had a fever, but he couldn't explain the reason to the two children.

"You guys should go out and eat first."

"No, we have to stay here with mom!" Lily refused to go out, and although Leo didn't say anything, he also didn't leave.

"You won't be of much help here. Mom will be angry if she finds out you didn't eat while she was sick."

He looked at Leo and used his eyes to tell him not to be stubborn with Lily.

Leo understood his gaze and took Lily out. "Let's eat first and come back to see mom later."
