Chapter 10

Florence smiled indifferently, "Mr. Hodges, thank you for complimenting me. In the past, I always didn't want to make Evander jealous, so I just kept a low profile. But I have to dress up on occasions like today. Otherwise, those, who don't know the truth, may think he abuses me."

Her simple explanation had saved her embarrassment and shown that she and Evander were on good terms.

Everyone was surprised except Florence.

"Evander, let's sit down. The guests seem to be almost here." Florence bent down and said to Evander, and then stood behind the wheelchair, "Mr. Hodges, excuse us."

She pushed the wheelchair towards the front table.

Evander was stiff throughout, unable to guess what Florence was doing. He could only use his eyes to signal his assistant to pay more attention to her.
