A GHOST?!

- Location: Japan, at a certain cafe.

[POV. Third-Person]

'Sorry I took so long,' Jihye said as she sat in a chair at Henri's table. "Hmph!" Henri simply looked away with a pout as she took a sip from her drink. "It's getting warm!" Henri said as she placed it on the table.

'Again... I'm sorry for taking so long... something crazy happened,' Jihye said as she rubbed the back of her head.

"What could be so important that you ignored me for almost an hour?" Henri said, emphasizing with finger quotation marks as she held a black teddy bear that was taller than her.

"Well, I guess it's better if I show you," Jihye said as she started concentrating, and as if it were second nature to her, she summoned the little black ghost again.

"Can you see her?" Jihye said as she pointed to a corner. "What do you mean? There is nothing there," Henri said, straining her eyes. "Nope, nothing," she said as she looked at Jihye with an odd expression.

"Maybe I'll try a more direct approach," Jihye said as she looked around the room. "Little ghost, can you throw that bottle of powder over there?" Jihye said, and the little ghost moved, throwing the bottle of powder to the floor.

"W-what was that?!" Henri yelped as she instinctively jumped. "There's a little black ghost that I can call... I think it's part of my quirk," Jihye said, grinning at the startled Henri.

"W-why can't I see it?" Henri said with a shaky voice, hugging the teddy bear tightly. "Hmm... I wonder if I can..." Jihye said as she concentrated again while looking at the little ghost.

"WHAT IS THAT?!" Henri exclaimed as she grabbed one of her slippers for defense. Seeing her reaction, the black ghost covered its head, hiding behind the bedside.

"Great job... you just scared her," Jihye said with tired eyes as she went to comfort the black ghost.

"What am I supposed to do when a ghost covered in bandages suddenly shows up in front of me?!" Henri said, hiding behind the teddy bear.

The black ghost stood back up as Jihye comforted it. "This little ghost is harmless; it's the other one that is scary," Jihye said, explaining to Henri what she had seen in her memories earlier.

Henri slowly approached, holding another teddy bear. The little black ghost's face was also covered in bandages as its hair rested on its back.

Henri poked the black ghost with her slipper, closing her eyes. "I-it's not biting me!" Henri said, starting to relax a bit.

"Of course not... she's a good girl," Jihye said, patting its head, which looked odd because they were about the same height.

"Does she have a name?" Henri asked, gently pinching the little ghost's cheek. "You know... I haven't thought of one yet," Jihye said, holding her own chin.

"How about Rosalyna from that one mushroom jumping game?" Henri said, continuing to pinch the little ghost's cheek.

"That's too long for conversations," Jihye said, placing her hand on her forehead, trying to think of a name.

"How about Mary? And since you don't like long names, you must be glad that I let you use my nickname!" Henri said, hugging the black ghost tightly.

Seeing this, Jihye's mouth twitched, as Henri had been terrified of that little ghost just a moment ago.

"Mary, huh?" Jihye said, looking at the little ghost that looked back at her.

Jihye smiled as she placed her hand on the ghost's shoulder. "Do you like that name?" Jihye asked to see if the ghost would respond.

The ghost nodded, surprising both Jihye and Henri.

"Does that mean that she can understand us?" Henri asked, continuing to poke Mary's cheek while hugging her.

"I-it seems so," Jihye said as she sat on the bed. "I hope we become great friends!" Jihye said as she reached out her hand for a shake.

Mary tilted her head as if she were confused. "Oh, when someone puts their hand up like that, it usually means they want to shake hands," Jihye said as she gently grabbed Mary's hand, shaking it while smiling.

CREAK

The door suddenly opened as Kei entered their room, "Hey, kids! I ordered some Chinese food; do you want to... have... some?" Kei's eyes almost popped out from shock as the food fell on the floor.
