...

I felt nothing, well not physically that is.

I have decided that if I was going to go through with this, I'd do it properly.

I don't want to become a vegetable after all.

Each step I took felt numb as the concoction became more and more prevalent throughout me.

I stopped, looking down at the black and white stripes in front of me.

I heard a siren in the distance.

My head now fuzzy, I decided it was now or never as the high pitch got closer.

The red man stood above my head daring me to cross. I took his advice.

I felt my pocket for the note.

It was at least there.

A white IVECO was about to pass.

Time seemed to slow as I began the walk to death.

First step.

Second step.

"Don't." came a shout from an older gentleman a few steps behind me.

Third Step.

The horn of the lorry went into my ear, but didn't persuade me from my chosen path.

Fourth Step.

Contact.

All I heard was a thud as I made contact with the metal.

I felt my arm breaking as the momentum transferred from the beast into myself.

Then my shoulder.

Then my neck.

Then the head.

As I slid down.

Even though my mind felt clear for the first time in a while, I felt no pain.

That was thanks to the Carprofen, Firocoxib, and Meloxicam that now ran through my blood.

It all came from a local vets which is why the sirens were chasing me.

I felt the scrapping as I left bits of myself behind me.

Finally, my body gave out and I lost all my senses.

It lasted longer than I guessed it would. Shows how tough we human actually are.

It's funny how, now that it's all over I finally feel at peace.

Not without regrets or wants, just not the desire to do anything or think anything.

I felt a slight tingle within me. Then after a few seconds a pulse goes throughout my entire being.

It ran throughout all of my existence.

After a while I began to feel a warm sensation throughout myself.

It felt like a few hours had passed when I felt a slight itch. It persisted, so I kicked it.

This happened multiple times.

I tried thinking but I just couldn't.

I felt a squeezing. It was the first thing in a while I actually felt.

The pressure of this new found sensation grew to the point where I felt like I was about to explode.

Then all the pressure released and I now felt cold.

I cried with all my might wanting to go back to that warm place where I felt at peace.

I felt what was like wet snakes crawling all over me. Then a tingling sensation throughout my whole body. I finally stopped crying after I felt a new warmth. Not as soothing as the other one but more intense. Making me feel loved.

If I tried to look all I could see is a blinding white light so I decided to clamp my eyes shut.

After a while I feel the new warmth leaving me. From my new found peace I begin to stir. I stop after a second warmth embraces me. Not as comforting as the first but it made me feel like I was safe in its embrace. Like I was guarded. I felt exhausted as my new mind had been through a lot so I let the tiredness capture me as I went off into dreamland.

...

"My lady, it's a boy." Came the voice of an older lady who was currently under the covers.

An older man wearing a light blue robe came forward and chanted. "Benedicta dea prolem et recuperaat mater." A slight glow came out of his hands as he put it on the mothers forehead. He had a narrow pointed face with a sparse but trimmed beard.

The older lady now brought the crying child into a bowl. She was wearing a red dress with a cream coloured apron that was drenched in blood. Her hair was tied up in a neat white bun. She took a wet cloth and removed the blood as best she could. She then swaddled them and passed them onto its mother.

Almost instantly the child stopped whaling.

"I bid you farewell." Said the older man as he exited the door. To which the old lady bowed.

After about twenty minutes she had cleaned up the room and opened the door.

"My lord, it is now appropriate for you to come in." She said in a humble tone.

The man walked in and up to the child in his mothers arms. He reached out and picked up the baby. The baby stirred as it left it's mother's arms but it soon stopped once it was brought to its father's chest, once again falling asleep.

"What did we name this little one my love?" Asked the man to his pale but lucid wife. She replied with, "I thought we agreed on Lashonda." It barely escaped her exhausted body coming out as only a whisper. "Right, how forgetful of me. My father always said there was a reason I could never have been a mage."

The older lady having realised she was forgotten about asked. "My lord, may I be excused?"

"Yes, of course Linda. Thank you for taking care of my wife and son." The man said with a thankful expression. The woman just bowed and left the room being careful to close the door gently.

The father looked to be in his forties and was wearing loosely fitting casual clothes. His short brown hair being in a mess. The mother looked to be in her thirties with a wide face. Her long caramel hair flowed out while a gentle breathing could be heard.

The man sat down on the bed next to his now dozing wife and muttered in a low tone. "Lashonda Michael ko Belmont Delius. My son, I wonder what the world has in store for you?"
