After a few years, Alex has now lived in this fantasy world for eight years. During that time, he had been learning from his aunt Lyanna how to channel his magical energy throughout his body. Channeling his magic would help him release it when he turned ten, or at least that was what was supposed to happen.
*Midnight in the woods*
Alex was sitting on top of a rock that was located in the middle of a river near a waterfall. Alex, for some reason, felt a strong connection with this place, so when he and his sister Raven discovered it when they were younger, he decided to keep coming here to train privately—once he got permission from his mother, that is. Every other day, he and either Lyanna, her, Mary, or Kaede would have to come with him and watch over him. What Anna didn't know, however, was that nearly every night Alex would sneak out of the house and go to the area anyway and meditate. Train him how to move magic throughout his body and concentrate it where he needs to.
This training helped him be able to master his magic control inside of his body; the problem was releasing it. You see, normally, a person's magical element fully manifests once they turn ten years old. Sometimes it happens a year earlier or a year later, but ten is the normal age.
Alex, however, was already showing signs to his family about possibly having his magical element manifest early, and Alex himself believed it was coming soon.
So every night he could, he'd sneak out and train himself for whenever that day came.
He had been doing this for weeks, going out to the rock at the waterfall and meditating, becoming one with his magic.
The waterfall contained magical energies, so he had hoped that being in the center of all of the energy could help him manifest his magic faster, but so far it wasn't happening. He could tell that being there was, in fact, helping, but he just couldn't manage to get across a barrier that he couldn't identify. It was almost as if something was blocking his flow of mana. He had tried his best to figure it out, but he was stumped.
So today Alex had one final desperation attempt.
Alex put his hands together and started to pray "Xymaris, I could use your help... I don't know what's happening. I feel my magic just waiting to come out, but there's something stopping me from using it. Please help me."
Alex tried praying, but he received no answer. It wasn't the first time this had happened; he'd pray to Xymaris, asking for help, but he would typically be ignored. However, there were a few times his prayers were indirectly answered, and something he asked for help with would just happen unexpectedly. One time he prayed to Xymaris to learn how to fight since Edward, his 'father' would let his son Edmund come over to where Anna and her family were and he'd bully Raven and Eve by pushing them around. Alex was sick of this and charged at Edmund, somehow fighting him with moves that Alex never knew he could accomplish.
In less than three minutes, Edmund was knocked out cold. Edward was of course unhappy with this, but when he approached Alex with ill intent, Anna stopped him in his tracks, and Edward backed off while being extremely angry. Funny enough, however, when Anna turned to her children, she wasn't even mad at Alex; instead, she was actually proud and even made Alex his favorite food for dinner that night.
Alex hoped that Xymaris would also answer this one, at the very least. After all, she dropped him in the middle of a foreign world and hasn't helped him.
Alex continued meditating in silence in the woods...that was until...
"ALEX!"
*Several Minutes Earlier*
Anna had gone to Alex's room to talk to him before he fell asleep, only to see he wasn't in his bed. She looked around the house in a panic and asked the maids if they had seen him, but none of them had. Mary and Kaede were washing dishes, and Eve was sweeping the house; not a single one of them saw Alex.
Anna, in a panic, created a plan. Her and Kaede would search for Alex while Mary and Eve stayed with Raven. All of them agreed and ran off, looking for him.
They searched the training grounds near the house and even the farm, but there was no sign of him. That's when an idea popped into Anna's head. "What if he's at the waterfall?"
The two headed towards the waterfall and could immediately sense a magical aura nearby. Thinking that had to be Alex, the two ran even faster and saw a sight that shocked the both of them.
The iris' in Alex's eyes started to glow bright purple as his body was covered with purple lightning crackling around him.
Both Anna and Kaede were shocked at the sight.
"He did it..."
*Right before Anna and Kaede arrived*
Alex was sitting on the rock, focusing his energy, but suddenly a bright light surrounded him. But before he was consumed by the light, he saw his mother running towards him. The next thing Alex knew was that he was in a purely white space...but a very familiar one at that.
"Hello, Alex." a voice said from behind Alex.
Alex turned his head and saw Xymaris sitting on her throne, still ever beautiful.
"Xymaris?" Alex said in response upon seeing the white-haired and blue-eyed beauty sitting in her beautiful dress on top of her throne. Her smile brightened upon seeing Alex.
"The new look suits you, Alex; those purple eyes are as beautiful as I thought." Xymaris complimented.
Alex looked at her confused before saying "Thanks for the compliment, but why am I here? You haven't talked to me since you reincarnated me."
Xymaris sighs before explaining to Alex "I know, but even I have my limits, Alex. I can't always talk to you, but now that you have finally unlocked at least part of your magic, things might change a little bit."
"What do you mean?" Alex asked.
"I mean, not that you have access to your magic; you will have more access to me." Xymaris said it with a smile.
"Access to you?" Alex asked.
"Yes, in short, you can now talk to me in one of two ways. The easiest would be to pray to me, especially in a magic-heavy area like that waterfall you are at, and the second way is to dream of me when you sleep, but let's be honest, how could you not dream about me?" Xymaris said with a smile.
"Wow, that's definitely a confident statement." Alex said in response.
"I'm just confidant in myself, Alex, but now we have to move onto business here, darling." Xymaris said. "Come here, Alex."
Alex listened to Xymaris and walked over to her while thinking about what Xymaris had just called him. Once he got there, Xymaris stood up to Alex and kissed his forehead. Alex felt a surge inside of him when the kiss happened, and next thing he knew, things were changing around him. The last thing Xymaris told him "We'll meet again soon."
Next thing Alex knew, he was back on the rock at the waterfall, but to his surprise, he saw both his mother and Kaede looking at him with shock.
Alex looked around himself and saw purple lightning flashing around everyone around him. The water around him was conducting the lightning and creating an electrical storm around him.
Anna and Kaede were both confused at seeing the amount of magical output from Alex. It was powerful—way more powerful than magic that someone his age should have. They watched as his lightning soon created a small lightning storm around him and the waterfall, and the clouds in the sky soon shot down purple lightning, magic the color of his own. But power wasn't the only thing they could feel. Anna, who also used lightning magic, could sense the purity of his magic; it was the most pure magic that she had ever felt. Kaede, while not versed in lightning magic, could also feel the purity of it all. Both of them were astounded at the sight, but none more than Alex himself.
"What..." Alex said in surprise that before all of the electricity vanished around him and the storms calmed down, he looked around confused, seeing the shock on his mother and Kaede's faces, but soon he felt dizzy, and his sight blurred before eventually seeing nothing but darkness.
Anna and Kaede, who were still shocked to see this, ran up to Alex as he passed out on top of the rock. Anna caught him in her arms and held him closely. Both Kaede and Anna tried to wake him up, but he was out cold. So the two carried him back to the house and laid him in his bed, making sure that Raven didn't see Alex right now since it would worry her.
"I've never seen such a powerful awakening..." Anna said, looking at the sleeping Alex.
"Indeed...it was extraordinary." Kaede commented that she, like Anna, was confused by what she had seen. While she had awoken her magic at the early age of 9, it was nowhere near as powerful and pure as Alex's magic.
"I need to talk to my sister about this...maybe she'll know something about this since she is more knowledgeable in magic." Anna said. "Watch over Alex Kaede."
"Yes ma'am." Kaede said, bowing. "I won't leave his side."
Anna smiled saying "Good. Tell me if anything changes or if he wakes up."
"I will, ma'am." Kaede responded.
Once Anna left, Kaede looked at the sleeping Alex and sat next to him. A small smile peeked through her emotionless exterior, and she put her hand on Alex's, who unconsciously grabbed her hand in his sleep, which shocked Kaede before her smile grew even just a little bit.
"Don't worry me like that, Alex."
