Chapter 72: Rest, Recover, Kill
"We also need to split ourselves in to three parts, scouts who will provoke some of the beasts, second group eliminates the beasts with help from the first group and the third group makes sure we don't get ambushed by more members from the same or a different nest" Yao Nan added after the excitement had died down a little.
Once they had a plan they were energetic and and roaring to go.
Lu Zhangtian and Yan Liling both went ahead to draw a few of the beasts from the nest. The rest of members exchanged some useful equipment with them to smooth out the process.
The ambush was only half a kilometre away due to agility of these Mares. The duo returned with Seven Warriors following them with no real passion. If not for the fact these intruders were strong and so near their nest, their first priority would have been to just ignore them.
Bai Hong, Zhao Jing, Mu Hua and Cao Guang were responsible for the fighting the seven warriors while Nie Huan, Zhu Li and Yao Nan ensured they weren't ambushed. Bai Hong who had already prepared a Blessing basic spell casted it on everyone one by one until she ran out of energy in the Nebula.
Fenrir and Little Flame Belle attacked the beasts from either flanks as Cao Guang drew a page from his days in the military and attacked the Mares head in conjunction with Zhao Jing and Mu Hua.
Two Fiery Fists and a Thunderbolt landing on the strongest beast killing it almost instantly. The number had fallen to six, four if all those kept busy by the summoned beasts were ignored.
Yan Liling and Lu Zhangtian teamed up to distract on more beast while Zhao Jing and Mu Hua did the same.
Cao Guang was thankful the nest didn't have any Great Warriors or Minions. He slowed a beast with Space Rhythm Compression and attacked it with another Fiery Fist.
After his Mental Strength broke through the third level his efficacy with his Space spells had skyrocketed. A couple of months ago he could only deflect Warriors with a Space Rhythm.
Cao Guang piled on the injuries for the Hollow Bones Mare till he was interrupted by the second Warrior. He activated the Departing Nether Shield and continued to attack the injured one while waiting for its Bone spike to activate.
He just needed to use a wall of Telekinesis to cushion it's blow on the Shield so that it could take it. The Warrior had a spike embedded in it's neck before it could break the shield.
But the shield was eventually trashed by it. By the time it turned to attack Cao Guang, he had already sent a Thunderbolt boosted by Lightning Order into the injuries he aggravated with his Fire spells. He couldn't wait till he got his hands on the third and fourth tier of Fiery Fist.
The Hollow Bones Mare afflicted with the Space Compression was killed by the lightning as a fried odour emanated from it's carcass.
It's partner went berserk when it died and activated wind spell to charge at Cao Guang when it was interrupted by Little Flame Belle's Calamity Fire. After a year of breaking through to the Warrior level, she was finally starting to reach it's peak.
The other Hollow Bones Mare died a quick and painful death by roasting under her brown flames. Fenrir managed to kill the other Hollow Bones Mare soon after as well. In the end the battle ended seven minutes after it began.
"Is anyone else hungry after smelling the roasted corpse?" Bai Hong broke the ice after seeing the demonic display of Cao Guang and his pets.
"You have four elements?" Yao Nan asked disgruntled.
"It's my talent apparently"
They were feeling better after beating up these dumb beasts only to have a cold shower thrown on them by the fact that Cao Guang defeated all of them while holding an element back.
"The meat does smell good, they shouldn't be a poisonous species, so no problem trying it out" Cao Guang said after food safety officer Fenrir had cleared the meat fit for human consumption.
"We will recover ourselves and repeat, we need to make sure that we don't draw more beasts on the next try. They will be on guard when these Seven don't return"
