Chapter 26: Fenrir's Evolution

The rest of the night turned out to be uneventful as they clocked out at four in the morning with another squad replacing them.

Cao Guang went staright to bed as soon as he could and woke up when it was almost 10 in the morning.

After having breakfast he went of collect something that he had asked his assistant to get for him. A wolf soul at the Warrior level. Fenrir had been at the advancing stage for some time now and he had even completed the preparations necessary according to his teacher's advice.

He had improved Fenrir to a peak in the Servant class and it was time for an evolution. With his element in the intermediate level he could easily support his evolution as well. Hence he had Lin Feng to buy one for him using the fifty million from his teacher.

Well after setting up a company, hiring an employee and all his expenses he could now barely afford to do build the equipment with Max.

Cao Guang went to a training area that he had booked with the soul. It was from a Warrior level Thunder Raiju from the South America, just this had cost him twenty five million.

Raijus were a near extinct species of wolves living in the Andes, even the weakest of these wolves were Warriors. Cao Guang hoped for Fenrir to continue on this path as far as he could but the Raijus were hard to obtain.

Cao Guang summoned Fenrir and instructed him one last time. He was the type that had go over things once more before execution.

To let a beast evolve they needed their blood to be changed or upgraded, the bones renewed and most importantly their souls using a Soul of higher level. Breaking through was an incredibly dangerous for beasts as any point had an incredible rates of failure.

The Summouners could do quite a few things to increase their odds of success, changing blood over a large period of time was one, nourishing with the purest energy of the Summoning element was another. If possible it would be better if the energy was of a higher level as well.

Fenrir's blood had been changed to the limit, it had already adapted and Cao Guang had provided him with the purest energy when he broke through, although recently Little Flame Belle had occupied his attention, he had not forgotten about his wolf.

Cao Guang now needed to help Fenrir change it's skeleton, this was an incredibly dangerous and painful process for the beast. Most Summoners would not even waste their time promoting their Servant class beasts.

They would just terminate the contract with them and suffer a minor setback and find a suitable new Warrior class Summoned beast. Even Pang Lai was surprised to hear Cao Guang intended to promote his Wolf.

Fenrir suffered through the soul wrenching pain and was ready to face the biggest challenge. Evolution of the soul, the beast would consume a soul of higher quality and evolve preferably in the direction of the soul and blood used. But occasionally there would be anomalies if the beast's own bloodline was of a higher quality, then their blood would not be changed.

Of course this only a way for Summoned and Contracted beast to evolve, demon beasts had their own way of evolution but it would take far longer than any Summoned or contracted creature on average.

This was the Summouners way of quickly elevating their battle strength. Having a Warrior level beast would change the dynamic when they fought against a Warrior demon beast, the squad would not have to be passive. Depending on Fenrir's strength they even had hope of killing it.

The Raijus were species of Lightning element wolves, Fenrir on the other hand did not have any elemental inclinations or bloodlines, so Cao Guang had gradually changed his blood to be attuned with this new soul as well.

The biggest danger of this method evolution was when the foreign soul overwhelmed the Summoned beast, then there were two outcomes death or a hostile takeover of sorts. Only the foreign soul would not be able have complete thoughts unless it was at the Emperor level so Fenrir would turn in to dumb undead sort of wolf with Warrior level strength and toddler level intelligence.

An azure glow filled the room as Cao Guang supplied Fenrir with the last drop of energy in his Star Nebula. Fenrir visibly grew larger as he howled. He had evolved sucessfully.

He was about seven metres large now and white with a tint of blue. He had an impressive Purple Mane and a single horn atop his head.

He had a become a Lightning Horn Wolf.

A Lightning Horn Wolf was a Warrior level beast of the Raiju line. It could summon lightning using its horn and had impressive speeds. It was among the strongest Warrior of the Raiju line.
