Chapter 19: Getting the company going

A good transmigrator needed to use his knowledge to his advantage. Cao Guang had a few plans for the future.

First off he was interested in designing a few magic consumables. He was the army and Hunters would be excited for his products.

First of his design was a Flash Bomb using Light magic to blind demon beasts. Second was a Stun grenade using the Sound element to disorient the beasts. He had to admit he was inspired by Song Xia.

And lastly the true money maker, Incendiary Fire. The military here used layering spells of Fire element as the greatest dealer of damage using soldiers.

Fire element possessed good damage, was more common than lightning and China was renowned for their Fire and Ice magic. His idea was to use petroleum and it's by products to make a flammable liquid that could be sprayed on the beast hordes and then lit up.

Unlike his previous world petroleum was rare in magic world, it was also considered useless. Since the discovery of lightning element, the need for this thing had zeroed.

He would fashion this into a Incendiary Fire technique like the old Greeks of his world.

Abusive the technological gap between world's were so joyful. He had asked his assistant to sign an Non Disclosure agreement using a Psychic mage's help.

His subordinate was tasked with the task of earning a patent for his ideas.

After that he could step into research and development. He didn't need another Sound Mage Song Xia was enough. He would give a royalty. He just needed a Light Mage who was reliable.

Then it would be raining money.

Infact these were not all that Cao Guang wanted to create in this world. He wanted anything from small bombs to nuclear arsenal if possible.

Later he read a few books on magic theory and artificing. Turns out there were already cost effective versions of these things, they were called spells. Besides if spells were sealed inside a container of sorts.

They would loose potency as time went, unless he used high end stuff like a large amount of Receiver Crystals. And how many of these things were in this world. Instead lesser spells like Brilliant Light Blind and Sound Chord Disturbance or Emerging Waves would revolutionize magic technology. As a buisness man he needed to search for profits.

He was sure that he would need jobs for a lot of mages who did not want to leave the safe zones and fight demon beasts on their turf.

Besides this way he would pay of his debt in the blink of an eye.

---

Cao Guang made his way out of the city with his teammates to search for demon beasts to hunt. Gao Xuan needed to prepare for his breakthrough. The group made their through the undulating sands that drew their feet inwards.

"How large a pack do you want" asked Song Xia.

"Let's start with three and we'll take it from there".

The group soon found a group of Sand Demon Tigers. Although tigers were lonesome creatures, Sand Demon Tigers hunted in packs because of their lack of strength.

"Same as before" said Cao Guang as he charged forward only this time he wanted to kill the monster and try out his forth tier Fire Burst.

Greater Fire Burst

A Flame twice the size of Fire Burst Rupture emerged from his hands and hit the beast on the stomach before exploding.

" That's fourth tier Fire Burst right?" Did he spent the fifty million on Soul Essences" Song Xia felt like she had eaten a fly. This guy had emulated her talent by spending some money.

Fenrir fought the second beast by himself again and without any pressure to help his master, he could enjoy his fight.

"A little help here" cried Gao Xuan as he kept the last beast at bay.

"Coming"

Song Xia dove in to the battle like an eagle catching its prey. That Sand Demon Tiger felt her full fury as she wrapt her mind around new possibilities.

Seven Soul Essences cost thirty five million as long a I bring my spell to tier four I'll have tier five spells. But which one Sound or Shadow?

This time around the group spent even fewer minutes dealing with the beasts. But they still had reached a limit. Gao Xuan was unable to take a Sand Demon Tiger on his own, limiting their maximum to three.

---

" What there's already a reply from the patent office?" asked Cao Guang " What's the reply".

" The Incendiary Fire and it's delivery system was approved. But the other two were rejected. Apparently they are nothing new. The person from the office told me that plenty of scientists had applied for different forms of these weapons.

There was even a National project associated with this but the results were useless. Even for a Primary spell it's not possible to hold it in container without it dissipating, unless the container was a Recieved Crystal.

The superior of the scientists tore their request for allocating Recieved Crystals apart." reported a dutiful Ling Feng.

Ling Feng was the assistant he had hired. He was previously working in a subsidiary company of the Zhao's. He needed a job that allowed him more freedom of movement so he quit them.

Cao Guang's job requirements could be met by Ling Feng in any major City of China. The guy was currently in Ancient capital.

"Alright then buy me some petroleum, we'll go ahead with that plan for now" Cao Guang could only compromise.

His theory was right, Primary spells could be stored but their efficiency made the project useless. Maybe someone would find a new usage in the future. But for now he could only prioritise the readily available ones.

Although Cao Guang read around textbooks, he didn't bother checking out patent offices and other resources, failing to realise these issues.

"How much do you want boss, I also found a mechanic you asked for"

" One million worth of petroleum should do".

The petroleum was the easiest part. What he needed was a delivery system suitable for Fortresses. Only the military would buy and arm their Frontier lands with these stuff.

" Whose the mechanic?"

" A former German student named Max in Ancient capital, he is reliable and is willing to sign the NDA. He is final year student of mechanic course in Ancient capital"

"Alright I'll be there in a week, set up a meeting for me will you?"

----

Cao Guang's squad stayed in Dunhuang hunting Sand demon tigers for a week. On the third day Gao Xuan broke through to the intermediate level and asked around for an opportunity to awaken.

Cao Guang also decided to try to awaken his elements. The Major General of Dunhuang military was happy to help the man that allowed them to catch their traitor. Even if it was the Lightning element.

" Which elements would you both like to awaken" asked the female guidance master.

Guidance masters were rare. They could use their will to supress unnecessary elements of an awakening stone. Good guidance masters were even rarer.

If one paired a good guidance master with an expensive stone their chances were significant higher. Apparently there was a hotshot guidance master surnamed Guo in Magic City.

"Lightning" said both of them although their reasons were almost same and different. Lightning element was cool. They had no conflicting opinion on that frontier.

Gao Xuan stepped up and placed his hands on the stone as the guidance master focused

herself. After a short while a Gold aura spread from Gao Xuan. It seemed Gao Xuan was hopelessly lost in his way to become a defensive mage.

"You're up next"

Cao Guang made his way onto the stone and placed his arms as the woman focused her will again.

Cao Guang's avatar was already floating in his Spiritual World. There shone the Star Nebulas of Fire and Summoning.

After a short while at a certain distance ahead of the Summoning Nebula a violet Stardust appeared. One .. two ... Seven stars of the Lightning element.

He had succeeded in his gamble, now he truly had a extra element. Previously old man Ying's working hypothesis was the element awakened was borrowed from the future.

He had wanted to test this theory and now he proved it right.

An extra element. The amount of combinations possible were rather huge already.

Imagine a Advanced Mage, they have three elements and nine spells normally. The combinations possible were significant, especially if one had reliable teammates.

If that person had an Innate talent and Soul seeds the combinations would skyrocket. Now imagine the same person with an additional element, innate talent Soul seeds and excellent teammates. The possibilities were amazing.

Since it was Elemental magic Cao Guang could an additional Soul seed on top of his Heaven grade seed. Even though he broke through the intermediate level his talent did not improve, that was unconventional for innate soul seeds.

Gao Xuan was already examining the effects of his innate soul seed. His multiplier had reached 2.5, that was a spirit grade Soul seed.

The military would love to pour resources on to Gao Xuan if not for their rules.
