Reborn in the world of Grimm

Not gonna give much of a synopsis. Mc is reborn as Nick Burkhardt who is a detective in Portland PD. The novel will have lots of action and equally more steamy hot sex. MC will be more ruthless and a stone cold killer unlike in the canon but this would happen as the story progresses.

Chapter 25

After ringing the bell to the apartment, Nick adjusted his shirt while feeling the combat knife which he had hidden inside a belt strap.

Soon the door to the apartment opened and Nick saw a gorgeous blonde haired woman welcoming him with a gentle smile. If Nick didn't watch the show, he might have been enamored by the woman before him, but Nick knew that beneath that smile was pure poison. In ancient times she would have been the perfect femme fatale, used by the enemies to bring down a kingdom.

But Nick noticed the difference in the Adalind before him from the Adalind in the show. 'She seems more innocent and immature than the way she was portrayed in the canon. Maybe she hasn't started whoring herself for the benefit of her mother and Sean yet. In any case it's good that I anticipated her presence. In the initial stages, Sean was too reliant on her'.

Entering the house Nick was warmly welcomed by Sean and Katherine. Though he had expected Adalind's presence, Nick did not expect Katherine Schade to be present. This made Nick nervous as fighting 2 Hexenbiest and a half Zauberbiest was going to be shitty.

Shaking Sean's hand, Nick looked at Katherine and then at Adalind, hoping Sean would introduce them to him.

"Nick, this is Katherine and Adalind Schade. Adalind is my girlfriend while Katherine is her mother. Since Adalind and I are already living together, her mother comes and visits us every once in a while. I hope you don't mind their presence".

Nick shook hands of both Katherine and Adalind and his observation caught Adalind flinching when Sean introduced her as a girlfriend with whom he was living together.

"Of course not. I am a guest today and I am happy to meet your family, captain".

"Please!! call me Sean. We are no longer at work. Come on now, sit down. Patty get us some coffee will ya".

Sean sat down at the couch facing the kitchen forcing Nick to sit on the couch opposite of him. While Nick himself did not understand the meaning of this, Sean did this to prevent Nick from facing the kitchen from where the mixing of coffee could be seen.

As if taking it as a cue, the moment Sean mentioned about the coffee, Katherine and Adalind excused themselves in the premise of helping Patty in preparation of coffee and mixed the essence taken out from the potion meant to enslave Nick to Sean.

Sean expressly made sure that he did not stare at the kitchen and tried to calm his nerves and made some small talk with Nick', congratulating him on breaking another case, etc.

Nick himself felt weirded by this entire situation. He knew that an attack could happen at any time, just did not know when. At least he knew that Sean would not attack him openly and even if he did, it would not be in front of his maid. So the fight should happen after the maid leaves.

"So, what is the important issue that you wanted to talk to me about, captain".

Taking a deep breath "Well, I heard that you got an offer from the FBI. They said it was with the special divisions department. Are you going to take it?".

"Yeah, I did receive it. To be honest, I am more inclined towards taking it and I made up my mind to give them my acceptance and planning on giving a more formal one soon".

There was silence in the hall. It even had an effect that apart from the sound of utensils no sound echoed in the house.

"May I know why? Why do you want to change your career? Based on my perspective, as a police officer you have more freedom than as a Federal agent. They are subjected to military type of discipline and is filled with red tape bullshit while as a police officer, though we have red tape and cannot make many moves, we still have a reasonable level of freedom and Nick, based on my understanding of you, you love freedom more than anything. So can you elaborate why you are choosing that".

'Wow this guy is really persuasive. No wonder he became a Mayor despite having little to no experience in politics. If I hadn't watched the series, I might have fallen for his tricks. Too bad I see right through you Sean Renard. You know that me leaving the precinct will reduce the successful solving of cases in your precinct which will in the end reflect on your yearly report to the police headquarters. But most importantly I also know the reason for you being so desperate in having me in the precinct. It's because I am the Grimm'.

While I was having my own internal monologue, I gave him the same shitty idealistic reply that I gave Hank with a straight cold face, as if wanting to make him believe that I was a righteous person. It was not that Nick didn't believe in justice, but he also knew that justice was an overrated term used by amateurs who are too blind in their self delusion. He knew that most of the people who held real power were evil and the system would always be flawed. The reason for him opting to enter the FBI special division was because he knew that this was the right time and he knew from that place, he could access the database on most wesens in the city.

All the wesen uprising shit cropped up right around this time and he had been waiting for this, started training, gained field experience, experienced blood baptism, awakened his Grimm powers and finally got used to the new found powers. Now it was time to step up, to move onto the next phase. It's not that he didn't want to stay here, but staying here will not change the future. All the wesens who started running amok were mostly due to the uprising created by the black claw.

They made wesens believe in their ideology, they made wesens to stage a coup. Staying here will only stop the effect, stall the inevitable result. To get the real effect that you want, one needs to attack the cause, drive a knife at the heart of the problem. Unless I actively attack the black claw and other hidden wesen organisations which were the cause of the uprising, there will always be an uprising.

'But before that I need to deal with this motherfucker' thought Nick.

Now that Nick gave him the reason, Sean went strangely quiet, as if he was in a dilemma, but in reality he was just buying some time for the coffee to be heated, he even spewed some false praise saying that what Nick was doing was admirable and not many could be as selfless as him. Just as he was about to spew more of those corny lines, the time he waited for finally arrived.

Adalind picked up the tray and brought the coffee personally to Nick. She had sent the maid to her home as the following events should not be known to her. Sean prayed to himself that this amateur would not end up showing her nervousness in her face. Fortunately everything seemed to go in his way as Adalind placed the drugged coffee before Nick and went on to place another to Sean.

Nick allowed Sean time to think of his next move and picked up the coffee and sipped on it. Sean's eyes lit up at this sight. This was a potion which would work even if a small content is ingested, in other words he had Nick exactly where he wanted.

"I am ordering you to take a few more sips of the coffee".

There was a deadly silence which filled the hall. Nick froze from the words which came out of Sean's mouth.

This was a punchline which Sean had prepared to test whether Nick followed his orders. In case it failed, Sean could always play it off saying that he was just joking.

Little by little Nick's eyes got a bit droopy and blank and proceeded to down the coffee despite its hotness, as if he couldn't feel his tongue getting burnt.

Looking at this Sean finally lost his composure, he had a laughing fit, his eyes were ferocious and greedy as if he had succeeded in the thing that he always wanted. His thirst for power and hegemony finally showed in his eyes and the cold gleam of vengeance against the royals showed with a level of confidence.

He had hidden himself for too long, he had been suppressed and had to bend down his head since the time he was a teenager. Though this didn't mean anything, with a Grimm on his side Sean could wholeheartedly invest his interest in the resistance. Walking up to the glass window near his balcony, Sean looked at the night view of the city and felt like a king. He was acting as if he had the coin of zakynthos without even holding it.

From now on he could subtly manipulate Nick into running against the royals and the verrat and make him take all the bullets for him. Katherine wasn't fairing much better than Sean, everything she had ever wanted, all the power and money would come to her through Sean, so she didn't hesitate to sell her body to him and also tried to make Adalind do the same.

She knew that she herself could not tie Sean to their family, but her daughter who was younger and more beautiful than her could do it. Though she was not satisfied with Adalind's resistance, she knew that Adalind would come around, after all Adalind was her daughter. Her DNA was coursing through Adalind's veins. She believed that Adalind will never be able to live a normal life and be happy with the average.

Adalind herself had mixed feelings, some relief that she succeeded in the job, some worry for what her future held and strangely some worry for the stranger before her.

Just as Sean and Katherine were in their height of euphoria, a cold voice saying "Are you done" dragged them to the depths of hell, drenching their backs in cold sweat.
