Chapter 12

"A statewide manhunt for one Dell Santos, has been issued by the FBI following a brutal shootout between the FBI and the Juarez cartel which had ended in both sides having casualties with Dell Santos being the sole survivor and has been missing since. It has been said that he was injured during the battle and has a gunshot wound on his shoulder. The suspect is armed and dangerous. If any person spots the person in the photo or thinks he has spotted the person in the photo, please contact the below mentioned number after leaving the vicinity as soon as possible". The sound of flash news spread throughout the city of Portland and Julliete, who had been watching soap operas too, saw the news and quickly linked this to her boyfriend's words.

Meanwhile Nick who hadn't gotten his evening workout for today went towards his gym and had a nice spar with one of the fellow trainees who was about to have his debut in the local Muay Thai tournament. His name was Andrew and he and Nick sparred a lot these past few weeks.

Nick's improvement shocked all the personnel in the gym, especially George who had recently started giving him advanced training. As Nick received a few jabs he guarded his body with ease making Andrew feel like he was hitting a rock. Despite using his quick footwork and giving different types of kicks and even combos it was practically impossible to break through Nick's defence. While high level athletes sparred many would stop their training to see and learn from the fight and so did Sara who was training for her own debut which was about to happen in two months. She had already signed up with the UFC and had finally gotten her name signed in the rookie tournament. 

She intently watched every move Andrew made and how well Nick defended him. Despite Andrew using quite a bit of his power in his combos Nick barely flinched and to the surprise of everyone inside the gym including his opponent, Nick kept staring at Andrew like a hawk watching its prey from within the arm guard sending chills down the spine of Sara, George and Andrew.

After the burst of attacks Andrew took a step back and retreated while breathing hard but Nick did not attack him. This was a spar for Andrew and his debut was coming soon so Nick did not want to attack him but deep inside his mind there was one thought. 

'After awakening my Grimm bloodline my power, speed and reaction speed have increased. In no means I am vain but I could probably knock out Andrew within one minute'.

Removing his head gear Nick walked out of the ring after checking up on Andrew who thanked him for being his sparring partner. 

After completing his spar Nick went on to perform HIIT, performed combos on a punching bag before ending with conditioning training to make sure his body rejuvenated and to reduce possible injuries.

This process took an hour before Nick changed back into another pair of dresses he had previously bought at the store. It was white shirt with black pants and a black blazer over his shirt. With his already well defined physique Nick looked incredibly handsome in his new outfit, shocking Madeline and Sara even earning whistles from his fellow trainees. 

"Date night?" asked Sara while giving a toothy grin making Nick a bit embarrassed and scratch the backside of his head.

Packing his gear bag Nick walked out of the gym and called the flower shop owner to ask if the order was ready. The flower shop owner's name was Ken Honeycut and yes he was the only wesen shop owner who got killed by Blackclaw in season 5 during the vandalism case.

Hopping onto his car Nick rode it towards the shop. During this process he did his usual routine of going around the street twice to check if anyone was tailing him. This was the only anti tracking technique which Nick knew from watching TV series in his past life such as NCIS series, Dexter and even Grimm itself.

After making sure that there were no tails present he made his to the flower shop and picked up his ordered flowers which was filled with different shades of purple roses symbolising love at first sight to true love to eternal love. 

This was a symbolic way to propose to Julliete as if he was saying that he was dating her with the intent of getting married but he would propose in the future and as for now he wants to take things slowly and possibly starting with loving together.

Nick could see Julliete's attachment towards him and felt pride in it as a man. Though his feelings were predominantly from the original body after being with her for nearly ten months it was impossible to not be attracted especially after the sheer amount of love they have made.

It didn't take long for Nick to reach Julliete's home with a bouquet in his hand and knock on her door.

Meanwhile in the FBI office in Portland, Garry Barnes quickly had his team inside the cabin and briefed about the case and assigned different parts to different team members, getting them busy with the case. After seeing them leave his office he called one of his trusted aid to stay back and explained the case after which both came to the same conclusion. There was a leak and they had a mole. The only problem was which from which side the mole belong to, The FBI or the Portland PD.

Meanwhile in the FBI office in Portland, Garry Barnes quickly had his team inside the cabin and briefed about the case and assigned different parts to different team members, getting them busy with the case. After seeing them leave his office he called one of his trusted aid to stay back and explained the case after which both came to the same conclusion. There was a leak and they had a mole. The only problem was which side did the mole belong to, The FBI or the Portland PD.

"Pull up all the phone records of the personnel who worked in this office and also hack into their GPS to check the places they have visited. Oh and another thing, investigate all the details regarding Nick Burkhardt, the detective from Portland PD".

"Ok boss".

This conversation happened quietly and was unknown to the other members of the team that they were about to be investigated by their boss.

Watching his subordinate leave, Garry Barnes dialled in to call Sean Renard the captain of Portland PD and after sharing his deduction Sean immediately knew that he would have to investigate his own but also knew that this wasn't something that he could just avoid as the only reason FBI hadn't taken over completely to investigate his men was out of respect to Sean. This was too big of a case for Sean to walk out of it. Holding his head he accepted this job and decided to have Hank and Nick the two best men in his squad to take this case.

Meanwhile inside an undisclosed black market clinic Dell Santos lay unconscious on the table with all the IV drop needles attached to his body and anesthesia set up. The doctor slowly proceeded to perform his operation.
