I am not a native japanese speaker but I'll try my best when it comes to deconstructing the culture based on the anime/manga of Naruto and historical records of the Sengoku period. Thanks to Zetsuai89 for the beautiful cover!

Uchiha Madara

Natsume spent the snowy days sitting together with Kono by the fire talking about various things or playing chess. Natsume would always win to Kono's displeasure. In the slow days of winter, Kono's stomach was reaching its peak size and she was getting closer and closer to giving birth.

Watching the snow gave Natsume a strange sensation. Although there were snowy days in the past, this one was particularly strange to her. She attested it to losing her two mother figures in the same year, but after two months of the feeling intensifying, she knew there was something going on.

One morning while doing her regular training, she felt that her perception and control over sharingan was especially easy. She had been practicing keeping her three tomoe sharingan open longer and made minor improvements up to an hour. However, this moment an hour passed and her sharingan had no strain on her chakra reserves at all. Her body was overflowing with yin chakra.

Unknown to her, the excess yin chakra gushing out from her was being absorbed by a snake pattern on her leg. The pattern was growing more vivid until it looked like a detailed tattoo. Once the gushing yin chakra stabilized, the pattern went dormant and transparent again. Due to this growth in her chakra capacity and recovery, her sharingan was able to stay active for six hours.

"Natsume, you're late today. It's getting colder. I was knitting something for my little Madara, but I messed it up and made a scarf for you instead." Kono wrapped the scarf around Natsume's neck and only then noticed her bewildered expression.

"Madara?" Natsume repeated. Something about that name made her blood turn cold.

"Ah, I just thought of it. On winter solstice yesterday I saw a spotted hawk perched on my windowsill. In a field of pure white snow, one bird stood out. I want my boy to stand out amongst the Uchiha and shinobi of this world. So, I thought Madara would be a perfect name. What do you think?" Kono was very pleased with herself. She knew that she would give birth any day now as the medical ninja had predicted.

Natsume's head started pounding. Her sharingan activated on its own and began to spin around as if stimulated. Fear began to bubble up in her and her heart began to pound. Kono realized something was wrong, but before she could say anything, Natsume already body flickered away. She was running aimlessly. Once she was far away from the village she collapsed to the ground and held her aching head.

The splitting headache was due to a sudden influx of thoughts and memories. It seemed as if she was remembering something she had forgotten. However, the rapid unleashing of these locked away memories caused her brain to overload. Her sharingan spun even more rapidly as if trying to assist her in sorting out her mind.

"Madara Uchiha… Sharingan… Kaguya… Naruto?" Things that Natsume didn't understand began to enter her head. A unified village known as Konohagakure flashed before her eyes. Such a concept as the clans coming together was foreign, but also natural. What surprised her the most were the founders, Uchiha and Senju. But the memories didn't stop playing out. Madara's betrayal. Uchiha clan wiped out. Everything she 'knew' about Naruto played like a movie in her mind.

Then memories of another life surfaced. Rather, it was more like meeting a relative that you forgot about, and memories of your time together came back to you all at once. She was still Natsume in consciousness, but now had memories of another 'her.' These memories unfortunately contained a terrible trauma. She watched as her loved ones were consumed by flames in a fiery explosion before she was ultimately swallowed by it as well.

The experience and emotion 'she' felt in those memories flooded into her mind and stimulated the production of chakra. Her sharingan responded to the grief 'she' experienced in her past life and began to mutate. The three tomoe grew and changed shape until forming a star-burst pattern around her pupil. Several narrow red cones stretched out from her pupil to the edge of her iris. Feeling the changes in her eyes, Natsume understood what it was from her 'memories'.

"Mangekyou Sharingan…" Although memories of another life were unleashed, she was already almost 10 years old and had fully developed her own ego. She maintained her sense of self and felt as if she read thousands of scrolls simultaneously and instantly absorbed the knowledge. However, she was fully aware that this situation was some sort of reincarnation.

The Naruto universe was no stranger to reincarnation, and in Natsume's case, it wasn't even from the same universe. The possibility of her being under a genjutsu did occur to her, but the details of the memories were far too vivid and strange to be formed by genjutsu. She tried to filter through the details of her new memories, but it would take a long time. Fortunately, with the help of two people's worth of spiritual strength she was able to retain most of the memories.

'First things first, I should return to the village. My chakra flaring this far away from the village could have drawn unnecessary attention.' Natsume stood up and looked around. She was tempted to test her Mangekyou abilities, but because of the fear of blindness, she decided against it. She flickered back to the clan and returned to Kono's room.

Kono was worriedly pacing back and forth. She felt the strangeness in Natsume right before she left and couldn't help but wonder what was going on. She feared that Natsume might be sick, or worse. However, when she heard the crunching of snow outside and saw Natsume return looking normal, she heaved a sigh of relief.

"Thank goodness, I was so worried."

"Sorry, Kono-san—" Before Natsume could come up with an excuse, Kono gripped her hand tightly and hunched over.

"Ah… I—I think its time!"

Natsume's eyes widened. 'The legendary Uchiha Madara is about to be born!'

Sorry for the wait~ I hope it was worth it. I didn't want to do the classic "suddenly transmigrated but I can perfectly fit in to a world different than my own" trope. Therefore, I decided to do it more in the Naruto theme of reincarnation, where the character unlocks the memories of their past life after growing stronger.

Also there may have been some confusion regarding "winter" in the previous chapter. In this case, winter is considered to have started when the first snow falls around october.
