Heart to Heart

Kentsuru arrived before the sweets shop, opening and walking through the front door then stopped to look around for the other. He was spotted by Hoshi, who waved to him. Noticing the fit akimichi from the corner of his eyes, Kentsuru stepped through the diner-like shop and to the table where Hoshi sat with a rather familiar female. Kentsuru was the first to speak, ignoring the red-headed girl for the moment. "So then... Where did we leave off? Oh yeah, we were talking about your system. Speaking of which, what did you get out of your task earlier?"

"A very important reward for me. I now have access to a huge list of core crystals, and gained the ability to summon an extra one. I don't know whether or not others can use them, but..." he willed his menu open and accessed the list of core crystals, and selected the one called Eula Lawrence Core Crystal, only to have the crystal appear in his hand "If you want to experiment and to try it later, you can. Likely if you can, you'll only be able to bond with one core crystal. My limit was one plus one for every 5 points in my ether control stat, so I could have awakened a second core crystal before if I had one. Thanks to that objective I can awaken two more now instead of only one."

"Ahh, apologies for my rudeness, Pyra-Chan. Greetings and how are you doing today? I am Kentsuru Iruzuka, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance; and yes that does sound important, Hoshi. To give up your quest reward to me instead, I thank you - especially when it comes to this character in particular." responded Ken, retrieving the blue eight-sided stone and storing it within his possessions for the moment, "Most likely I'll need to contract the help of Ame, in my mindscape, to awaken the ability of ether within me and thereby awaken this Core Crystal."

Kentsuru ignored the lecture by Hoshi about how the other reincarnator's system worked, not paying much mind to something he would never need worry about. He'd stop only to blush slightly when the Red-headed Pyra returned his greeting. "These core crystals have a second effect, by the way." Hoshi explained to Ken, "If you resonate with this core crystal you should get either water or wind element chakra affinity. The affinity gotten is random, though, so if you already have one of those affinities you may not gain anything in that regard if you are unlucky."

"My current affinities are lightning and earth, so it shouldn't be a problem. I suppose it's only fair I share my own gifts after the hospitality and the item you've given me. My wish was to have the physical abilities and the skills of a certain swordsman from a certain anime. My second wish was for an incarnation of the goddess to be reborn with me." Kentsuru spoke, allowing these words to be soaked up by Hoshi, listening to the instructions about the crystal's effect nonchalantly. The discussion continued somewhat afterwards, about the mission he wanted to give Hoshi.

"Then, I guess this meeting is finished. Sent me a shadow clone when you finish my task, and I'll give you a small reward. I live in the southwest corner of the civilian district, it's the white three-story building with a banner for 'Tsuchi Composites Inc' on one side." Ken said, finally standing up and moving to the counter to grab a to-go bag full of sweets. From what he estimated, if he could catch this reincarnator by surprise without form manifestation active and without his blades to accompany, it would be trivial to end the man's life.

Kentsuru quickly left the shop and began on his way home, already considering plans for the future once he had graduated from the academy and had become a Genin, making a name for himself along with his team during the events of the Konoha Village Chunin Exams as well as the Village Destruction Arc, intent to change history as it were. Whether the other reincarnator Hoshi was bound to be a part of his everyday life or just a comrade - well certainly it was the latter. While Ken liked Hoshi as a friend and comrade he didn't want the other to steal the limelight from him.
