Before they could continue the heated argument, a deafening "BAM!" shook the air, the ground trembled beneath their feet like an earthquake. The sound was like thunder, but closer, it was more intense and menacing.
The trio froze with their disagreement long forgotten as they face of the new threat. The ground shook with the force of whatever that was, the walls creaking in protest under the pressure of the unknown force.
Dust particles rained down from the ceiling, casting a fine layer over everything and it obscured their vision.
They began to cough, the dust choking their lungs, making every breath a laborious struggle. "Akh...Akh...What...Akh...was...that?" Aria whispered but her words were interspersed with her coughs.
She covered her nose and mouth with her arm, trying to filter out the dust, but it was everywhere, swirling around them like a toxic cloud.
