Chapter 1: Academy entrance exam

(Authors note: give me some character design ideas for the mc, also let me know if I'm making him too strong too quickly)

I head to ichiraku ramen and go in, as I go in a man and a young girl greet me

"Hey, first time here?" he says

"Yeah, I've heard some people talk about this place, they said it was the best, so I thought I'd come by and try it". I replied

"Okay, then what can I get you?" he said

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "I don't know, a bowl of miso pork ramen I guess, I don't know what there is so let's go with that."

"one bowl of miso pork ramen coming right up," he said and then got to work

As I was waiting a boy around my age ran up and shouted "Hey old man, get me a bowl of miso pork ramen with extra chashu!" and sat down as the man shouted back "One bowl of miso pork ramen with extra chashu coming right up!"

I look over and while sticking out my hand I say "Hey I'm Noboru Tetsuya, what about you?"

The blond boy looks at me full of shock and stammers out "I-I'm Uzumaki Naruto" while he takes my hand and shakes it

I shake his hand and smile "Nice to meet you Naruto, Do you want to hang out sometime?"

Naruto's eyes widened in excitement "Really? Are you sure?" he said

"Yeah, why not it'll be fun, I'm going to take the entrance exam tomorrow what about you?" I replied

"Awesome!! And yeah I'm gonna take the entrance exam and I'll beat everyone and then I'll become the Hokage someday BELIEVE IT!" he said

I wince a little but still nod while smiling and say "I believe you I do I believe you'll become Hokage and be the best but can you please not scream, I'm not trying to be mean but I have very sensitive hearing and it hurts when you do that"

He looks surprised that I believe him and feels bad about screaming so while scratching the back of his head he says "Really thank you and I'm sorry"

I nod and say "It's okay I get it" and right then the guy brings us our ramen and set it down while saying

"Enjoy"

We both say thank you for the food and dig in

"This is amazing," I say and continue eating

Naruto says while eating "I know right ichiraku ramen is the best believe it"

I laugh as we finish our food and pay the man and then I look at Naruto and say "Hey do you want to hang out at my place? I don't have much to do but it could be fun, I was just going to train but I think hanging out could be more fun"

He looks surprised but gets excited and says "Yeah that sounds awesome! How about we train together"

I agree and I lead him to the park I was at earlier and we train until we get bored by that time it's already getting dark so I ask him if he wants to stay the night at my place and he agrees then we head to my apartment when we get inside he asks "do you live alone?" and I reply "yeah I'm an orphan so I live alone"

He looks sad and says "Oh me too"

"But, that's okay cause we made cool new friends today and I'm sure we'll make even more at the academy," I say with a smile and start preparing a place for him to sleep and then I make us dinner we eat, and then go to sleep

The next day I woke up early and checked my notifications

I get up get a change of clothes and take a shower after I'm out of the shower I wake Naruto up then I go to make breakfast, after breakfast, I go for a run and then head for the academy with Naruto.

As we're getting to the academy we see a bunch of people standing outside, parents and their kids all standing around waiting, we join the crowd, and as we're waiting a man in a flack jacket and a scar across his nose comes out and speaks to the crowd.

"Alright everybody, line up and come inside"

Everybody lines up and funnels in and the man leads us to a big classroom, he turns to the crowd and says

"Okay, kids find a desk and sit first you're going to take a test to see where you're at academically, parents can sit on the side or wait out back in the training grounds"

Naruto and I find seats next to each other and wait while most parents sat on the sides where some chairs were set for them and the others went to the training grounds, once everyone was seated the man stood in front of everyone and said

"I am Umino Iruka I am a chunin and I will be conducting the entrance exam today, I will now be passing out test papers"

He turns around and grabs a stack of papers off the desk and hands them out to everyone, once I get my paper I look at it and think

'well this shouldn't be hard but I'm surprised these kids could be able to do it'

Iruka then gets back to his position and starts speaking again

"Okay, now that everyone has a paper you may now begin"

I quickly fill out my paper and turn it over and wait for everyone else to be done, once everyone was done Iruka went around and collected everyone's paper, and then while handing the papers off he said

"Okay, now everyone, follow me to the training grounds we're going to test your athletics to see where you're at"

He then ushers us to the training grounds and says "Try to run around the grounds fifty times and stop when you can't go anymore, okay go"

We started running and most kids didn't get close to finishing the fifty laps some did and the only ones who finished them were me, Naruto, and the clan kids well except Choji and Shikamaru, Shikamaru cause he's lazy and Choji because well Choji, the clan kids who finish were all out of breath even naruto but I only just sweat a little after that Iruka had us do basic exercises and counted how many we could do after that they had a Hyuga look to see how much chakra we had, at the end of it only less than half of us passed.
