Chapter 53 - I don't care if the world burns

Mei Mei and Ui Ui were fighting smallpox deity when those curses came.

The smallpox deity was killed in a few minutes and they were the next target of the curses.

Ui Ui was about to teleport them to a different location when several curses attacked him simultaneously.

Mei Mei used her crows but it was barely enough to stop them from completely killing Ui Ui.

Mei Mei didn't think she would actually be in this situation but now that Ui Ui was on the verge of death, there was no way to escape from current predicament.

As the curses start to target her as well, she prepared to go all out.

But then, out of the blue, the curses retreated at once.

Nanami went inside the station again to find Itadori but as he saw *Sachiko's curses moving around, he decided to take a different route.

"What are you two doing here?"

Nanami heard a voice coming from the hallway. He hid and listened before secretly taking a glance.

There were two women hid behind the corpses and was trying to feed Sukuna's fingers to Itadori. Another finger sneered at them.

Seeing their stiff bodies , she questioned.

"Why are you so tense? Mmm?"

"What...what do you want? Your curses killed Haruta. And are you here to kill us now so that we won't tell Geto?" One woman asked.

The said figure turned and Nanami deduced that it was the same woman who sent the curses.

*Sachiko laughed as if she heard a joke, "How could it be? I just thought I liked the way you were trembling. Tell Geto? Go on. If you want to tell him, you're welcome to do so. If you make it alive, that is."

"You..You're gonna kill us too?" Their eyes widened at the realization.

"So, you're not that slow. It could be interesting." She hummed.

"Sukuna is necessary for the plans. You can't kill us."

*Sachiko chuckled darkly before moving her hand, and the head of the woman who talked earlier fell down, rolling several times on the ground.

Even Nanami's eyes widened at the reveal.

'What is happening here? Is she seriously killing her allies ?'

Nanami considered rushing in to save Itadori but he figured he wouldn't make it alive if he did so.

Then, he heard *Sachiko's voice, again.

"Now, let's make some rules, shall we? Rule number one, don't tell me what I can and what I can't. I hate that the most." *Sachiko said with a smile to the other woman.

"I will let you live for now. Remember, I expect interesting things from this." *Sachiko said.

As the woman started to feed Itadori fingers, Nanami prepared to rush out.

*Sachiko glanced at where Nanami was and smiled, amused.

"If you come out to save him, I'll kill him right here, right now."

Nanami clenched his fists but he couldn't do anything. He just saw how she killed that one woman and he felt that she could actually kill Itadori without hestitation.

"Nakamura?"

Megumi saw Sachiko from afar. She was running towards his direction.

"Oh, Megumi." She gave him a glance and said, "I think you should retreat for now. Those curses are not the ones you can handle."

"So, you already saw the curses."

"Yeah, I did."

"Then..why didn't you anything? You could've done something." Megumi said.

Sachiko said with a laugh, "Oh, really? Why would I do that?" She paused, her face turning serious, "I should save them so that they could stab me in the back later? After tonight, I won't be too surprised if I suddenly become a culprit."

"That's not true." Megumi tried to talk her out of it.

"Which part of it is not true? Did you all not jump into conclusions just after meeting a curse? I know I'm not the most reliable person but isn't it too farfetched? If you say I was fooling around too much that I let you get hurt when I could've solved without any casualties, let me say this. I'm a student just like you and I'm not responsible to babysit you all in the first place. But I saved you again and again because we were classmates. Yet, what did I get in return?"

"Not only you treat me as a suspect, you also tried to get Satoru suspect me as well."

Sachiko shouted.

"Wait...I..."

"I'm not your tool and I won't kill those curses to save anyone unless it is necessary to save Satoru." She said.

"Why...?"

"As I said before, I don't care about if the world burns, especially if it's the Jujutsu society."

"I know you've said that before but..."

"No. I don't think I really care anymore." She said, "I'll get the prison realm back but that's all. If you want to save lives, you have to do it yourself instead of depending on others to save people who you want to save."

After saying that, Sachiko left him.
