Chapter 39

The next day, I went to the Astraea familia with Bahamut once again. I briefed Alise on how the raid went. She felt a bit bad because, she couldn't join the raid with her familia. I had no idea what the whole Astraea familia did the day of the raid but, even if they were there, we would still lose.

"Alright, enough apologies. I survived the raid so no problem. Besides the cloaked lady would have still beat us even if you were there" I said, because Alise kept apologizing for bailing which was getting annoying.

"Alise, it enough". Lady Astraea came to rescue me from the infinite apology loop of Alise.

"It must have been hard yesterday. Why don't you come with us to the charity event we are going to attend. It might help you mentally in doing something positive" lady Astraea suggested to which I nodded in agreement.

"Ahh, no leaving me out Draco. I am coming too" Bahamut said. It looked like she wouldn't take no for an answer, so I reluctantly agreed. We soon begun preparing for the event and left the Manor.

'I hope that no evilus will attack today' I thought as we walked through the streets to the location of the event. The charity event started well and everything was in order, but of course my fears came true.

1 hour into the event the evilus attacked. I didn't even remember if there was such an event in the series. Over the years, I had forgotten a lot of details about the series. I wasn't a hardcore fan of the series but knew of important events and characters that I found cool, which I wrote down of course.

Events were occurring around me that weren't in my little book. With the world different from the series that I knew.

My greatest fear for today was Alfia and the fake dragon kin being nearby. Getting my ass whooped by them was enough trauma for the week. If any of them joined the attack, we would all die.

Bahamut was in the event together with me along with Astraea. They had a meeting after the charity event with the Loki and Freya familia so some of their members were close.

Running wasn't an option so, I joined the battle to repel the evilus. During the battle I noticed Gareth, a dwarf and a core member of the Loki familia fighting.

Soon a lady called Valletta, I think joined in the battle. If I remembered correctly, she should be from the Thanatos familia.

Alise, Ryuu and Gareth tried to stop her but she left soon after being informed of something. After her retreat Gareth fought the evilus that remained while the Astraea familia and I, tended to the injured.

During the battle earlier, I witnessed something amazing. It was Bahamut's debut on the battlefield today as she decimated low levelled evilus with her sharp claws and powerful tail.

How she could move such a small body with such agility and speed bewildered me. Her cute face was adorned with a bloodthirsty grin, making her all the more fearsome and adorable. Watching her fight was a thrilling experience.

'Perhaps most dragons loved combat or it was a justice goddess thing' I thought while healing the wounded and fake chanting.

While healing, I noticed Ryuu talking to someone with a cloak. The person helped a little girl which Ryuu seemed to be thanking him about it. I decided to listen in with my enhanced senses.

"Hahahaha, helping others feels good. It makes one feel superior don't you think so too??" the man said. This man sounded like a crazy person but his voice sounded familiar.

"No you are wrong" Ryuu replied. Seeing her reaction the man said something to her which seemed to upset her further. They argued for a while before Ryuu decided to ignore the man and help other people as he was wasting her time.

The cleanup after the attack was ongoing, when we were called for a meeting between the Loki, Freya, Astraea, Ganesha and Bahamut familia. So we quickly finished it up and returned to our respective homes to quickly prepare.

"You were cool today" I said to Bahamut on the way home. We had to clean up the dirt and blood on our bodies from the battlefield before attending the meeting.

"Hahaha, did you fall in love again" She said teasingly while laughing. I was a bit embarrassed, so I smiled in reply. We continued home while having some light banter.

I never thought that our familia would've been called because it was only me representing us for now. The others couldn't currently help with the evilus attacks.

The meeting was to be held in the guild headquarters. I had no idea why our small familia was invited but thinking about it would get me no where so I just went with the flow.

I highly doubt that this was the impact of just me on the timeline. If Bahamut could exist didn't that mean that other unknown pantheons of gods could exist. All these hurt to think about, so I just stopped thinking and made my way with Bahamut towards the meeting room.

A guild employee came and then escorted us through the building to a door. We soon found ourselves in a large meeting room. There was a large round table in the middle, which made me remember the round table of King Arthur.

I noticed that some other familia's had already arrived. I saw Astraea and some of her members to the left, standing alongside her. Shakti was there with Ganesha in the room as well.

"Oh, you must be Draco. I have heard much about you and Bahamut long time no see" Ganesha said while striking his signature pose.

"Greeting, Ganesha sama, I am Draco Black of the Bahamut familia". I introduced myself while putting on a smile. Ganesha nodded in reply and kept repeating his name. Shakti quickly stopped him and apologized to everyone in the room.

I hadn't met Ganesha personally, but I knew of him from the series and rumours in the city. Ganesha is a eccentric god and one of the better ones in Orario.

He wasn't even a god of justice but made his familia protect the peace of the city. My monologue about Ganesha was then interrupted by my goddess.

"Ganesha it's good to see you too" Bahamut said while waving at Ganesha in a friendly manner.

'Maybe they knew each other from heaven' I thought before noticing that the Loki familia just entered the room.

The goddess Loki was escorted by Finn Deimne, the captain of the Loki familia.

The pallum called Finn was one of the most dangerous adventurer in the Danmachi series at least in my opinion. Not because of his physical capabilities but, the way his mind worked.

You could give him just a few clues in regards to a mystery and he would piece and unravel the whole thing.

"Tsk, why is this chibi, flat chested lizard here??" Loki asked as she saw Bahamut in the room.

"Oh ho, says the flat chested, no ass, slanted eye goddess" Bahamut replied while smiling eerily.

The room descended to silence as the two goddesses looked like they were about to explode.

This was interrupted with the arrival of Freya. Escorting her was Ottar, the captain of the Freya familia.

Looking closely at her, she was indeed beautiful. She had this aura that she emitted that was pink in colour. Probably her passive charm but it didn't seem to affect me much. She noticed my gaze and smiled towards my direction.

Well Freya wasn't a bad goddess but she was a bit too obsessive. She tended to use the wrong means for the right reasons, that's why she looked like someone to be hated.

Bahamut got in front of me thinking that I was charmed but, I just patted her head to let her know that I was ok and returned a smile back to Freya.

Freya seemed a bit startled by my action and Ottar seemed to frown. This didn't go unnoticed by the others in the room but they didn't say anything.

Looking at Ottar beside her, the only thing that came to mind was that, he was strong. He was tall and had a massive body. He had a strong aura, a bit stronger than that fake dragon kin. 'Could he be already level 7' I thought as I hadn't payed much attention to a lot of things besides the ones about evilus.

The meeting still didn't begin after the Freya familia arrived which made me wonder who we were waiting for.

A person soon entered the room and closed the door. This person was Royman Mardeel, the head of the guild. He was pretty much a fat lazy pig who loved to hold onto power. It was a mystery why such a person was the head of the guild.

He then walked to the head of the table and sat. The gods in the room soon followed and picked their seats while their escorts stood behind them.

"Thank you all for responding to the summons, let the meeting begin". After Royman spoke up, the meeting began.
