First Step

The boy woke up dazed. He felt a queasiness in his stomach as he started to regurgitate his bowels. The boy didn't know that rebirth or transmigration would be like this. The pain was too much. He coughed and coughed and coughed until everything just stopped. He still felt sluggish, but the pain wasn't as bad as before. He quickly sat up and looked around and saw that he was in small igloo decorated with signs of waves, it looked very worn out as if nobody had cleaned it in weeks. He walked up to the mirror to look at himself and felt pity for the boy who he had transmigrated.

In the mirror, he saw a boy with a frail and bony looking as if the winds could blow him away with the slightest pushes. He was handsome, very. No one feature made him attractive; it was a mix of them that did. His red and blue heterochromatic eyes accenting his already curved face, his hair flowingly beautifully down his head as if it was the sea itself, calm but ready to attack. His angular face was giving off an ethereal vibe. Overall he was very handsome. The only problem was that the body's malnutrition seemed to have endured, causing a lot of that ruggedness to disappear.

Somebody entered the house, and soon as the person did, the boy remembered the memories of the body he inhabited. He remembered the day this body found out he couldn't water bend, how disappointed it was, how the boy's father looked at it with hate and dread as if it was nothing more than useless now as if he had no purpose. The boy's life slowly went down from there to the point that he wasn't even allowed to go out. He was a stain to the family, to his father, and in his mind, he didn't deserve to go out.

The body's father or now the boy's father was a famous White lotus member who fought with Avatar Aang on many occasions and even got a medal of honor for his time. When he got his child, he hoped that his child could be like him, someone tremendous and in his head, that was a bender as that was the only thing he had known. He had heard about Sokka, but he never believed that his kid would amount to much, so he decided to lock the child away. His wife had died earlier, so she would never know.

"Gon, wake up," The boy's father shouted, "It's finally time to get rid of you!!"

"Why, Father?" The boy, now known as Gon, asked, alarmed that the man in front of him would do that.

"I have a new child, so I no longer need you," The man said merrily, "Get out, before I kill you, you useless non-bender."

The boy looked at the man one more time, hoping that the man who had bravely fought with the Avatar was still there, but all he could see was a never-ending hatred in the man's eyes. He walked away, knowing that he couldn't do anything to save his predicament.

Gon walked out of the house, and what he saw was terrific a vast landscape of blue, penguins swimming everywhere mountains upon mountains of snow it was beautiful. The only problems were the voices he heard whispering about his situation. Some were full of pity while others were smug and happy. He decided to tune out the noise and think of what to do next.

He walked up until he got to the exit of the white lotus camp, the forbidden lands. A place that wasn't safe for the general populous but only trained warriors. He looked at that place and decided that if he were going to go anywhere, it would be there. Even knowing that it was a gamble with his weak body, he still walked that path, knowing that this would be the only for him to get powerful as quickly as possible.

He walked through the gates, and as soon as he did, his body froze. Gon felt as if he was going to die, but he continued onwards, believing that it was the only way to become mighty. In the eyes of others, he was weak, and being a non-bender would only be able to find a lousy job that would have taken him nowhere.

Gon walked continued walking forward, but the farther he got, the farther he was feeling as if he was going to die. The cold winds blew, causing his body to shake at the cold. He decided to sit down and look at the elemental martial arts technique that God had given him. He pulled it out of his back pocket and started to read, and as he read, he became more and more enlightened about the powers of the elements and the potential of it that benders never thought was possible. He sat down, deciding to use meditation to call out to gis bending, and as he did that, a sort of enlightenment happened.

He entered his mindscape and saw to beings made out of chi, dragons of a sort.

They looked at him and said, "Only those who have felt pain can meet us because only they will protect others from it."

Immediately after they talked to him, they mixed with his chi and showed him the correct manner of bending. Bending was, in a way, not genuinely bending, of course, it had aspects of it, but that wasn't the core. The core of it was to become one with the element and gain control of the power it held. You didn't bend it to your will. You moved with it.

As soon as Gon understood this fact, the winds didn't feel cold to him as he was water, and water was malleable to anything even temperature.

Gon continued onwards, now looking for a spot to train.

(One year later)

Gon was now fourteen and had mastered the elements of water and fire to a reasonable extent. His martial arts were going well, and he was now able to use them while bending, causing his power to be more devastating when combined with it. He had learned how to control his chi a lot better and was even able to unblock a chi block, although it hurt a lot. He trained in lightning and made discoveries on its capabilities, such as the amount of damage it caused. He had learned to heal too, although that was by mistake.

(Flashback two months ago)

He was practicing his lightning when he mistakenly injured himself. His arm was in pieces, and he didn't know what to do. Hee had this instinct to put his hands in the water, and so he did, and then a green light came out, and he got healed.

(Flashback End)

He decided to go back to the White lotus camp not because he liked it but because it was the only place in his memories. He planned to get a map and leave as soon as he got there.

He entered into the camp, looking like a different man. Nobody knew who he was, because who would think that the skinny and frail boy from before would become buff. They all thought he was dead at this point. It had been a year, and he hadn't come back.

As he walked in, he saw a girl looking meek and sad. Something Gon understood because he had felt it in the past. She was alone.

He walked up to her and asked, "What's wrong?"

"I'm lonely, the girl shouted, my family left me here years ago, and all I do is train. I want friends my age, but because I am the Avatar, I must do this. I need training!!"

The boy looked at the girl debating his choices. He could help her or leave her. Helping her gave him benefits like having a friend he so needed as he had been alone for a long time, but on the other hand, the white lotus would chase him if Gon helped her, so he was in a dilemma. He decided to help her. After all, he had the capabilities to train her.

"Would you like to come with me? Could I show you the world?" Gon asked.

"Okay," The girl said, "I'm Korra."

It didn't take her a lot of time to think about the matter; she wanted to escape the base and explore as Aang had done.

"Can I bring my pet, Naga?" Korra asked.

"Okay," Gon said.

They were riding to the gate on Naga when a troop of water bender attacked them with water. Korra and Gon both dodged, one moving to the left while the other to the right.

"Split it?" Gon asked.

"Hell yeah!!!" Korra shouted as she used earth bending to shoot a rock at one of the water benders. She dispatched the next guy by using fire to evaporate the water, causing a mist and then knocking him out. The other two were easy, Korra just froze them with water.

Gon's attacking was different. He moved as if he knew where they were about to hit and countered quickly. He was like an old monk facing off against many enemies with such elegance and beauty that it became a dance. Anyone who watched would be entranced. "Pah" The sound was heard as the other five water benders got knocked out.

"Let's go," Gon said.

Gon and Korra quickly ran out of the gate, going anywhere that the map would take them.
