Out of Character

As soon as Drew saw his character information he began to laugh with a sinister cackle.

Phil had a habit of laughing like that for no reason most of the time, but for Drew it served as a way to mess with him. Phil immediately knew something was up and confronted Drew, "What is it?! You cheated didn't you!"

This made Drew laugh even harder, when he caught his breath he explained to the now captive audience, who wondered what was going on.

"Well I knew you would make me change it, but my stats are insane! I even have magic weapons already. It let me keep everything. I even have a fireball scroll."

Phil was furious, his face a deep shade of red, " Lame! I have freaking four hit-points! Your jacked now too! Elves shouldn't have freaking muscles! "

This made everyone laugh, but they could see that what he said was true. Drew was now muscular, with a very sturdy build for an elf, a far cry from his typical slim build in the real world.

Phil was now physically much weaker than his younger brother, which bothered him greatly.

Despite the fact that Tabby didn't want to be here, she could see the impact this was having on Phil and chose to act. She moved close to Phil and quietly said, "Well, you are very handsome now though at least."

This made Phil pause and smile at her, revealing his now perfect teeth. "I do have a 20 charisma at least. I'm just glad scale mail isn't that revealing, cause your not bad looking yourself. "

Tabby blushed and the others rushed to change the subject, before those two needed to get a room. They had kids for a reason, so they wouldn't hesitate to jump on one another in a instant.

"Its odd that BJ isn't here." the Little Mexican interjected.

BJ was the name of the game master, whose house they were to meet at. He was also no where to be found.

"I agree. Its also feels like there is missing information for my character but I can't remember what it is. " chipped in the Half-Giant Monk Huffy.

Everyone seemed to agree with Huffy and the little Mexican. It was strange that the last memory they had was arriving at BJ's house and that he's the only one not present.

These words successfully distracted the love-birds and the group focused on understanding their surroundings.

They were in a small, empty room with a magical light source somehow implanted in the ceiling. The walls were made of carved stone, with a wooden door upon one wall.

"Where do you think we are? " Whit asked the group.

"We are underground. I don't know why but I am sure of it.". Drew replied confidently.

" Your a ranger, so it could be an ability related to your class. " Said the Little Mexican.

"We only have a few days rations so we can't stay here forever. I for one want to find out exactly where we are. " Whit stated in an attempt to push the rest into action.

"Yeah, this room is boring. Look before we go anywhere we should settle on formation. I don't wanna die so I'm in the back." Phil said with a dumb grin on his face.

"The rogue should go first, in case there are traps." Huffy said while choosing to ignore most of what Phil said.

"I think the warlock should go first in case there are magical traps," Drew interjected with a serious expression.

Phil grinned, "Your mom's a magical trap. "

Everyone giggled except Whit, who instead began to reprimand Phil, " You have the same MOM. Its not even funny."

"Which brings me to the next most important issue! " Phil said dramatically, " We have to decide if we are going to go by our real names or our character names. I must insist that everyone use my character name from now on. "

The room as a whole shook their heads at him, but Tabby was the first to speak what they all felt. " Nobody's calling you Long Johnson, sorry Babe.".

"What?!? No one?! How about just Long?!? Johnson?!?Cmon! " Phil exclaimed while holding his hands in the air dramatically.

"He does make a few points though. We do need to figure out formation and we need to decide what we want to go by. If we are indeed in the game then it would be best to have fitting names and to understand our roles in the group. " the little Mexican said with a serious tone that seemed to made everyone act more serious. Something about his words had an affect on their minds in an unnatural way, but they were not aware of it.

"Call me Huffy. I will take the Tank position since I have the highest Hit points right now. " Huffy said as he chose what he felt to be the most relevant role.

"Good, you can call me Frost. I will take the lead here, but in combat I will play a more subtle role. " The Little Mexican stated.

"Ooo, mysterious!! Long live Long Johnson!" Phil exclaimed. He seemed to be immune to seriousness.

"Just call me Whit, I will use my magic to support and heal. That is, if Magic is even real. " Whit said, bringing up the question of whether they could use spells or not.

"Call me Damon, I never liked the name drew really. I'll take position right behind Huffy since my class is versatile. With spells I think it will be like opening the character menu, you just have to think it. " Drew said with his typical matter of fact attitude.

"Call me Tabby, and what do I do again?"

Tabby said innocently.

"Your the healer!" Everyone responded in almost perfect unison, which re-iterated the amount of times they had explained this to her.

After nailing down the final points, the group was finally ready to open the door and venture out into the great unknown.

What trials will they face?

What obstacles will they overcome?

Find out next time.
